Wonderful, complex, clever, complicated. My cup of tea exactly!

Author's Response:

Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

What can I say?
By far the best story I read so far here!
Excellent plot, had me asking "what now" at the end of every chapter!
And though I am a huge SG1 fan, I'd love to read another story that is completely original written by you, because I think it would be great.
But whatever the setting, keep them coming!!!
Thanks so much for sharing.

Author's Response:

Oh, thank you. I'm glad you enjoyed the story, I had a blast plotting and writing it!

I think I'll just stick to fanfiction for now, but who knows, maybe some day in the future I'll try to write something 'original'. Don't think my writing is good enough for that yet and I'm still experimenting with styles and genres, so there's still a lot to learn for me.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I really appreciate it!

Poor Colonel O'Neill...stuck on a planet. But I am curious...will there be a sequel? I would really like to see where the whole Sam pregnancy storyline could go.

Author's Response:

Well, he'll only be stuck for a little while, since Sam and Daniel are flying to Earth and then into the past to fix it, meaning he'll be reset along with the rest of the timeline.

Right now, I feel like I've told the story I wanted to tell and it's over for me. No epilogue or sequel in the planning. Whether Sam is pregnant or not is left up to the reader's imagination, I guess.

I know some readers were rooting for her to be pregnant and others were appalled by the idea, so I figured ending it like this was the best option. Some of the fics I have planned also deal with pregnancy and/or children, so this way I could minimize the similarities between them and this fic.

Reviewer: Vash (Signed) · Date: May 28, 2012 11:21 am · On: The End...

I'm really, really, really sad this story has ended. It could have lasted forever *sigh* I can't believe how often you updated. That's wondeful for a reader. Every morning I was excited to check for another chapter.

I feel really bad for Colonel Jack, getting dumped on an alien planet like that, away from wife and kid and they didn't even need him! What a waste. I can't even comprehend what his thoughts must have been, being stranded there like that. I really got to like him, I know he has no place in Sam's life, but I still feel bad for him *hugs Jack*

Author's Response:

Aw, I'm a bit sad too. It was such a fun ride. Unfortunately I had to set boundaries for myself otherwise I really would have been working on this forever! When the end was in sight I was just as excited as the rest of you to finish up the story and somehow got the muse to cooperate with me and keep me writing!

Yeah, poor Col Jack. He had a really bad few days! At least he wasn't stranded there for long once Sam and Daniel went through the gate back to Earth and into the past, effectively erasing/resetting him.

I'm glad you liked Col Jack! It was trying for me to make him likeable because of his underlying motivation for befriending and then seducing Sam, while still married to Sara. I guess if we stick to the fork-in-the-road thing then the reality in which he found himself diverged at some point, with one reality being the one where Sam succeeded with her plan to get to Cairo, followed by Maybourne's planet and then restoring the timeline and the other in which she failed, meaning Col Jack is still alive there! :)

Thank you for sharing your thoughts, I appreciate it!

Ah! The end ! I have really enjoyed your story. I now look forward to your next one, your stories are always something that you can get your teeth into, if you get my meaning !

Author's Response:

Yeah, I finally wrapped this baby up! :)

I'm glad to hear it, I really enjoyed writing and sharing it too. Not sure yet what my next (long) fic is going to be about, I have plenty of story ideas but haven't been able to choose the next one yet, but hopefully I'll be back with something soon.

Thank you for all your reviews and kind words, I really appreciate it!

Reviewer: quirynnejade (Signed) · Date: May 28, 2012 4:46 am · On: The End...

I meant to seriously review this story ages ago. Sorry, but better late then never.. right?

This story had me coming back everyday to see if you updated.
You continuously had me wondering what was going to happen, all the details like the jumper and Martin's spaceship were brilliant. You can defiantly tell that you put thought and effort into this story!

I feel so so so so devastated for AU Jack, really really really! But despite my sadness, I'm glad there wasn't just a big campy ending were everyone lives happily ever after.

Big thank you for sharing your story! I enjoyed every chapter!

P.S Pregnant or not? AHHH

Author's Response:

Definitely better late than never! I know from experience how easy it is to just read and enjoy and sort of forget to review... so, no worries!

Yeah, a lot of planning went into this one. It was whole new experience for me to plan almost all the chapters ahead before even writing the introduction! But I knew it was necessary because of the complexity of the plot and it definitely paid off, allowing me to find earlier references easier and to include things I'd thought up in the beginning but would have probably already forgotten them by the time I was halfway through the fic.

In a way I'm glad you felt for Col Jack, because I was afraid people would see him as the bad guy so I purposely kept the appearances of Sara and Tyler to a minimum yet still tried to make sure people wouldn't forget about them.

Unfortunately there simply couldn't be a happy ending for everyone involved in this story. However, I guess if the timeline was reset then Col Jack was basically the reset version of General Jack, just with different life experiences so the General Jack in the end who was married to Sam is the reset version of Col Jack... in a convoluted way that is sort of a happy ending for everyone!

Thank you for reading and reviewing, I reall appreciate it!

PS.
I purposely left it up in the air for the readers to decide! ;)

I feel sad that this story must be nearly over. You have put a lot of hard work and thought into this. Well done, but I feel for the AU Jack !

Author's Response:

Yeah, it won't be much longer now until this baby is complete! Thanks, great to know all my effort is appreciated.

It's indeed a sad situation for poor AU Jack. Unfortunately there isn't a happy ending for everyone...

Reviewer: PaulineFitz (Signed) · Date: May 24, 2012 6:12 am · On: Day Ninety Eight Continued

Every thing is unfolding nicely, but troubles to come I suspect. Another excellent chapter. gripping story.

Author's Response:

Thanks, glad you liked it. This one took me longer to write than I expected and resulted in a higher word count, so I'm saving the rest for the next chapter.

Reviewer: PaulineFitz (Signed) · Date: May 23, 2012 9:31 am · On: Day Ninety Eight of a New Life

It puzzles me why the readers on this site do not review, strange ! Anyway great chapter again, your version is far better than TPTB and thanks for posting so quickly.

Author's Response:

I don't know either! But at least the stats indicate a steady number of readers per chapter, so I assume people are enjoying it enough to come back. Or at least not hate it so much they stop reading.

Thanks, I'm glad you liked it. More angst, drama and arguments in the next chapter as the three of them are aboard the ship.

Reviewer: PaulineFitz (Signed) · Date: May 22, 2012 2:54 am · On: Day Ninety Seven of a New Life

Brilliant chapter, liked the way that you bought in the abandoned spaceship that Martin was on, clever !! Now that I have finished this chapter, better get on and do something, this story is addictive. Thanks for the quick update.

Author's Response:

Glad you liked it. Martin's escape pod had already been mentioned and futzed with by Sam in chapter 14 so I had to refer back to it! It was the perfect distraction as Sam and Daniel made a run for it, but clearly Sam hadn't counted on Jack digging deeper into the salvaging company and her other alias.

I'm probably as excited as you are about the story so it's easier for me to get those last few chapters 'down on paper'. Hope to update soon. Thank you for the reviews, I appreciate them!

Reviewer: PaulineFitz (Signed) · Date: May 21, 2012 6:10 am · On: Day Ninety Six of a New Life

An other good chapter, and you posted it early, from me a big thank you. Now I am wondering who answers the phone as Jack is there. Oh !

Author's Response:

Thanks! I was on a roll and had been thinking about the Sam/Jack scene for a while so I didn't want to stop when I finally got there. From there it wasn't that much trouble to add Daniel's little scene too and then I figured I might as well upload it as well!

We'll find out in the next chapter who answered the phone and what is going to happen when Jack learns the truth about 'Therra Carlin'...

This story is sooo good. and it keeps getting better, another new twist, with the pills. Excellent writing, can't wait for the next enthralling posting.

Author's Response:

Thanks! I'm glad you're enjoying it. I had this little twist planned all along, just had to make sure I would actually *get* there and originally I was thinking of using Hammond. But since Maybourne will be back later to team up with Col Jack this was a better way and the NID probably wouldn't share such a secret with the USAF anyway.

Won't be long now until Sam and Daniel get their hands on the final piece of the puzzle!

Thank you for the kind words.

Reviewer: FFlover (Signed) · Date: May 13, 2012 12:49 pm · On: Day Seventy Five of a New Life

Oh, sweetness. Glad they talked and things are going smoother between them. But it's OH SO dangerous for either of them.

Author's Response:

Dangerous indeed!

Col Jack is starting to realize that he could really like Sam and that of course only adds to his guilt about the whole thing, considering he shouldn't be enjoying his assignment this much. At the same time he can't alllow his guilt and feelings towards Sam blind him in case she is up to something.

Sam has to keep a clear head and not get carried away with her feelings with this Jack being so much like her husband. Using him like this isn't something she is proud of but it will hopefully distract him from her master plan and it will also give her some much needed comfort just to be with him and in his arms...

Another excellent chapter. Regarding the love scenes, beautifully done. All in all a wonderful story, I look forward to each posting.

Author's Response:

Thank you. Good to know you enjoyed the love scenes, it was difficult for me to keep within the limits of the R-rating since I usually write either mature fics or K-rated ficlets/oneshots.

I'm glad you're still enjoying the story, hope to have the next chapter up on Wednesday.

Many things in my head ATM. *whimpering* Very nice scene. And then Daniel ??? And back to chaos. Daniel kind of felt like a commercial LOL. Looking forward to read how it all turns out between them. Poor them :-(

Ohhhhh chapter 27!!!!!!!!
Fantastic!!!! Thank you for not spoiling a great story with cheap scenes that are nothing more than porn. This is quality writing!! You describe the moment in detail but focusing on the feelings of the characters and their personal conflicts without resorting to the mear physical description of an ontherwise empty act. I love the fact that you stop when they get to the bedroom, there is really no need for explicit descriptions here, we all know what is going to happen.
Well done!!!
I'love to see how they resolve the awkwardness now, Jack needs to recognise that he didn't really know what love is until he found Sam!
Can't wait for more!!!!

Author's Response:

I'm pleased you enjoyed it so much! For this fic I purposely chose an R (or teen) rating because I didn't want to focus too much on the physical aspect of Sam and Jack's relationship, especially not since he's still married to Sara. I'll be the first to admit though that my other mature fics do include the actual sex (I try to balance it so it's not plain porn with crude language) but I felt it just wouldn't serve the plot here. The lower rating was actually a bit trying because of my experience with mature fics and now I suddenly had limitations, so it's really great that so far no one has complained about me crossing the line.

It's going to be difficult and awkward for both of them after the way they left it but I assure you this isn't the end of Sam and Jack's relationship! :)

*growls and squirms* Yep, definitely playing with us. LOL

I'm still trying to remember what it is they might be after in the ocean. I know it's not the gate. *needs to start rewatching entire series*

Author's Response:

I promise not to be so mean in the next chapter, okay? It'll pick up where this one left off or therabout...

Reviewer: PaulineFitz (Signed) · Date: May 03, 2012 2:35 am · On: Day Sixty Nine of a New Life

Another great chapter, what can I say but Wow ! More please asap.

Author's Response:

Thank you! Glad you liked it because it had been eluding me for days! Most of Sam's scene had already been written but I got stuck and eventually wrote the other 4500 words in a race against the clock when it was getting close to midnight here. I didn't want to skip an update so instead I made do with a little less sleep. Felt like a bit of a zombie this morning but luckily I can function pretty good with just a couple of hours of sleep! It's nice to know it was worth it though!

I just love playing with Sam and Jack so much that I can't help myself but build a little suspense! Now it was finally time for some actual kissing though!

Glad you're enjoying it so much, that's always nice to hear!

This is a great story, and I love it, can't waits between updates. It is very well written, like the way that you are handling the obvious attraction between Sam and Jack.

Author's Response:

Sweet! I'm very pleased with the responses I've been getting here (and on FFnet and AO3). It's always nice to hear people like my stuff.
Thank you for the compliments and I hope you will continue the rest of the story as well!

This story is FANTASTIC!!!
I can't wait to read more!!! It has all the elements of the best episodes of SG1, the humor, the clever arguments, the techobabble, the flirting, everything!!!
I loved the tension created in the part where Jack gets so close to Sam to whisper in her ear at the Cassino, I hope there's more of that comming!!!
I am enjoying this alternate timeline very much and can't thank you, all other authors and this website creator for keeping the Stargate stories alive for all of us die hard fans!
My gratitude, INDEED!!!

Author's Response:

Aw, thank you. I appreciate your kind words!

There's definitely more UST moments coming because, well, they're Sam and Jack so there has to be tension! It's impossible for it not to be there with their chemistry, alternate timeline or not.

We're all fans here and while I can't speak for all the authors, I can certainly say reviews are a big enough thanks for me. I hope you'll continue to enjoy the story as Sam's plans slowly unfold...

I'm really enjoying this fic! Can't wait to see where you will take it. Will sam and this jack get together?

Author's Response:

I'm happy to hear you're enjoying it so much! As for Sam and Jack, well... I'm not giving anything away just yet! I guess you'll just have to wait and see ;)

Reviewer: sam1Helen (Signed) · Date: Feb 10, 2012 8:02 am · On: Introduction

I am loving this story so far...Love "Macguyver Sam" ;) Only complaint is I need the next chapter faster. Also, alternate reality NID guys must be the worst surveillance people ever. Not sure how real that is but still love seeing Sam outsmart them. Kinda hope we get to "see" the look on Felger's face when he learns how easy sam got around his program

Author's Response:

Wonderful to hear! Trust me, if I could type faster you'd get the chapters faster too! It's not always the actual word count that takes a few hours but also getting the voices right and sometimes it's just the opening line that takes forever to come up with...

I'll be the first to admit that the NID tails are probably a bit too ignorant but I figured with everything that's happened Sam deserved a lucky break! Colonel Jack will address it in chapters nine and ten though...

Thank you for the review and rating, I hope you'll continue to enjoy the story.
