There's a shadow in the doorway. In a moment she will walk in, and all the darkness of my life till now will be swept away, but for now, she's just a dark figure, outlined against the light she'll bring with her. Not suddenly, but in a year, or two, or three, she'll be my reason for living. She'll be so much a part of me, I won't be able to bear to lose her, I'll kill, and die, and hurt for her, but for now, I just wait for the shadow to come forward. "Captain Samantha Carter, reporting for duty."
