Chapter 1 by Lola
I listen to her, she's explaining something scientific, something far beyond my grasp. Her whole face lights up, eyes shine, lips smile. She looks at me expectantly, I know we've gone over this before and I should understand, but I don't. She's way smarter than me. It doesn't bother me, not really, only at times like this when she wants to share her knowledge and I just don't get it. Some part of me feels like I've let her down. It doesn't matter thought, because whether I understand or not she still smiles at me. Her smile that's just mine.
