He hates that her watery eyes made him want to embrace her, and never let go.
He hates that he had to invite Laira back with him, it was the right thins to do.
He hates that she heard the invitation.
He hates that Laira go to him.
He hates that he called Laira, `Sam,' and an inappropriate moment.
He hates that she's too forgiving to bring it up.
He hates Paynen for giving him the drink.
He hates what it did to him, what it made him do.
He hates that he realised his feeling for Sam only weeks ago.
He hates that Daniel already knew.
He hates that even Teal'c could see what he couldn't.
He hates that he can't tell her.
He hates that everyone else knows how he feels about her.
He hates that she doesn't.
He hates that she doesn't feel the same way about him, and she doesn't see him in the same light.
But most of all, he hates that she'll never know.
