Having A part

She looked so damn beautiful. I've seen beautiful women before, but this was different. This was Carter. This was real.
She resonated. Emotion. Intent. Passion, in the way her lips moved, and with out warning, she took me over. No declarations of rank, arrogance or fear could overwhelm it. And I was taken in. Not for the first time. Nor the last.
And we gave in. Just as she said *it*.
Her fingers dragged her hands down the inside of my arms, as her body rested against mine. Trying not to think of her breasts pressed against me was hard to let go of. As was her right cheek, which grazed along unwelcome stubble, burning as it settled. I felt one of her eyes close, and her arms tighten. Her throat strangled itself,
Just as she said *it*.
"I'm married."
Like a knife burying itself ceremoniously within my chest and twisting, I felt he words burn.
I just closed my eyes.
After all, our feelings don't matter. The fact that I love her and she might love me doesn't matter. Because the fact it is, that there's more to come.
And having a part to play is only the begging, for it…. Has tainted the world, and coloured lovers...
And it's not over. Not yet.
