Colonel 'Jack' O'Neill couldn't believe that he'd been called back to the base, especially as it was his down time which had been interrupted of all things. He'd just finished packing his truck for his weekend at his cabin, when the cell phone sprang into life, with General Hammond on the other end. The thing about cell phones, when you leave them ringing over a long time, trying to ignore them as best as you could, the damn things just get more ignoring with the stupid ring tone it'd been set to. For once he wished, he'd remember to turn the damn thing off, but his memory being like it was, was preoccupied with memories of a certain Major Samantha Carter. The one woman in the universe; who could make him instantaneous happy and could even scare him half to death, with just one of her looks. It hadn't been bad recently as it had been, spending sometime with one another at that stupid Gould palace, when they had gotten addicted to the light thingy bobby, must have clarified something's. He shakes the thoughts out of his head; the one woman he couldn't have because of some idiot, who thought they needed to have regulations, about having relations with other officers. It wasn't his fault she was under his command, and over the pass four years, he'd fallen hopelessly in love with her. She just had that affect on men, alien and human kind especially, but most of them had some how died from a few hours after meeting her, or they turned out to be the bad guys. But when she was on a downer, she always had him and the rest of SG-1 to fall back on. Dr Daniel Jackson would always be there for her, when she needs the shoulder to cry on and would cheer her up as best as he could. Jack often wanted to be the shoulder she cries on, but the problems between them being the regulations, stop him from being there when she needed him most. But Daniel would always be there, taking up the role of a friend when she needed it. But she also had the local Alien, Teal'c the man who probably save all of their butts more than once, was there even if he was silent most of the time. The ex-Jaffa turned good guy by a speech from Jack, would always be the one to informed Jack, when ever Sam had one of downers as to know when to take it easy. The four of them together made the ultimate team, when there wasn't anyone trying to kill them, preferably the Gould who spent there time, enslaving humans to become their hosts. Jack sighs to himself as the elevator doors open in front of him, onto the military grey painted corridors of the SGC, deep down inside the Cheyenne Mountain. The place where all the action was, but no one out in the world above, knowing that they were in a scale war with an alien race, billion of light years away from their galaxy. The corridors were bustling with personnel, as they rushing around doing their every day tasks, and whatever had been the reason to recall him from his down time. Avoiding as many personnel as he could, he climbs up the steps into the dimly light room, with the odd flashing lights on control panels. Mostly technicians were sat at their control stations, doing whatever tasks they had been set. He slowly comes round the corner, coming face to face with the object that had been playing on his thoughts, since he'd gotten up that morning. Sitting there at a control station; typing away at the keyboard as she glances at the computer then into the gate room, on the other side of the window in front of her. The light coming in from the gate room; was casting a kind of silhouette around her, giving the impression that she was some kind of angel. She hadn't seen him enter the room, to business at being nosy with the activity in the gate room. He smiles to himself, shoving his hands into his pockets as he came up behind her. The object of her attention was the technicians, making some adjustments to the gate, just like they always did when she was in one of her moods. Always wanting to make everything perfect, being the scientist that she is, always seem to take over when she was near the Stargate. He smiles to himself, folding his arms in front of his chest as he leant over, and spoke into her ear.

Jack: "What's the emergency?"

Sam almost fell out of her seat at the sound of his voice, clutching at her chest as she tries to regain her composure. The look he was receiving could have killed a thousand Jaffa that was if looks could kill, but he wasn't bother about the look he was receiving, it was her eyes that had him. He couldn't help but stare down into their depths, trying to figure out how deep they were, with the slight smug look on his face. She shakes her head at him, her grip on her chest slowly loosening as she turns to face him on her chair. A small smile tugs at the end of her lips, as she sees the bemused look upon his face. She folds her arms in front of her chest, leaning back into her seat as she turns back to her control station.

Sam: "What emergency? There's no emergency, General Hammond called SG-1 back off down time that all. But knowing you, he thought it best to make it an emergency, in case you were already on your way to your cabin" Jack: "I nearly was, five more minutes and I would have been gone" Sam: "Five more minutes and I would have finished my latest invention, but as always someone had to called me down from my lab, because something needed to be done to the gate"

The one place on earth your guarantee to find Sam, was either in her lab or in the control room, solving the problems of the universe as she went. But always seem to have a problem as to when to leave, finding her slump over her computer in the morning, was another guarantee of Sam's. He looks round the control room, sighting the empty seat next to Sam, with no occupant to stop him from nabbing the seat. He quickly lowers himself into the seat, sighing at the relief as the weight of his body, was taken off his feet and transfer to his lower half. Sam was already back to typing away at the keyboard, looking at her hands before quickly glancing at the computer screen, making sure she wasn't making any mistakes. The look on her face was the face of immense concentration, the crinkling of her nose as her eyebrows furrow together, the biting of her lower lip were definitely the tail tale signs of it. He frowns at the computer screen, taking a quick peek at it, trying his best to work out what she was doing but as usual, nothing that this woman did ever made sense to him. The sound of some familiar voices coming from the other side of Sam, bringing him out of his thoughts as Daniel and General Hammond entered the room. Both of them; talking about something to one another, debating something between them as they look at Jack and then at Sam's back. They nod in agreement about something, turning to face Jack and Sam with their arms folded in front of them.

Daniel: "So, you did come in then?" Jack: "Nearly, but as always you lot always seem to catch me in time. So why has SG-1 been took off down time?" Daniel: "Well, the Tok'ra wants to re-evaluate the treaty. They want to put an operative on earth and one of us to go with them" Jack: "Yeah, well. When my hairs grey and I'm hundred one, then they'll get what they want" Sam: "So they'll be getting it soon then, as your hairs turning grey, sir"

He glares at her for moment, wondering why on earth he had to fall in love with her who needs a lot of work to be done, on her sense of humour and timing of all things. But that thought was soon forgotten, as his eyes seem to be lock with hers, staring deep into the dark blue depths. Everyone around them becoming a blur, time seeming to be on a stand still but them broken as she look away, looking up at Daniel, as he place a hand on both of their shoulders. The man had the worse timing, always breaking them up when they were staring to have a moment of their own, no words said between them as they gaze into each others eyes.

Daniel: "Getting back to the subject at hand…

The gate suddenly burst into life, the inner ring on the metallic ring spinning round, locking in the various symbols as the iris retracted from the event horizon. They all look towards the gate; the technicians were quickly scurrying out the room as the assault teams took their positions at the base of the ramp. Jack pushes himself off the control terminal, standing behind Sam as her type away at the keyboard. Hammond takes a step closure to her, looking at the computer then at her, waiting for her to work a miracle as always. Jack could see she was tense, her shoulders hutch forward as she type as fast as she could. The gate activates in front of them, washing the gate room and the control room, in a blue glow that emanated from the gate. The room suddenly went dark, the only light source being the gate. Sam: "Sir, I can't close the iris. The computer has locked me out. My codes don't work, and neither does your own or Colonel O'Neill's" Something suddenly came through the gate, the gate closing behind it taking the only light source that was available at the time. Jack was suddenly in soldier mode, jumping down the stairs towards the gate room, grabbing a sidearm off an airman who was in position at the door way. He flicks the safety off as he enters the dark room with the door closing behind him. Sam stood up from her chair, trying to get a better look into the gate room. The room was total darkness, the only sound were the men inside; being lead by Jack as they went up the ramp, towards whatever it was that had some through the gate. Then there was nothing, only the sound of the other occupants of the room breathing, as they waited for news from the men inside. The whole room was quickly filled with the screams from the men inside the gate room, an awful scream which seems inhuman for anyone was accompany by the sound of rapid gun fire. The emergency lights came on as the room fell silent. The gate room was covered in blood, the Stargate it self was dripping with blood that was presumed to be from the men who had gone inside. Sam looks frantically for Jack, hoping to see him standing at the side alive and well. Hammond takes a step closure to the window; he leans onto the console as he peers inside the room. Trying to see where the bodies of the men were, but nothing could be seen of them, no evidence except for the blood to indicate they were there. Hammond: "What in god's name?" Sam couldn't see him anywhere; he wasn't anywhere to be seen inside the gate room. Not even a piece of clothing was laying on the floor, or even a bullet casing showing that there had been a gun fired just dark red blood, covering the cement grey color floor. She needed to see if he was alright, but with the back of the gate room in complete darkness, there was no telling where the enemy was. Carter: "Where's Colonel O'Neill?"

Something was thrown at the window, a blood splatter immediately covering most of the window as the body slid down the window, down onto the floor below the window. Sam swallows down the bile taste that had formed in her mouth, as she tries to look at the body to see if it was Jack. Teal'c comes running down the stairs behind them, handgun in hand as he stops in front of the window. He slides the gun back into its holster, pulling a chair out of his way as he climb onto the control station, crouching down to look through the window.

Hammond: "Teal'c. What are you doing, son?" Teal'c: "There is something on the ramp, General Hammond"

Sam looks at him as she frowns at him; she climbs onto control station, mirroring his actions as she looks into the gate room for herself. She couldn't see anything except for blood, but with Teal'c's abilities being aided by his symbiote, he could probably make out more things that were in the room. But it didn't stop her trying to see for herself, she had to answer the question that was going through her head. Was Jack alright? Teal'c slowly looks up towards the ceiling of the gate room; something was dangling from the ceiling, similar looking to a military issue boot worn by everyone on base.

Teal'c: "I believe the airmen are on the ceiling of the gate room"

Hammond quickly grabs the phone out its cradle on one of the control panels, waiting till someone answer on the other end. He taps his foot off the floor, looking into the gate room before looking down at the floor. On the other end of the line someone picks up.

Hammond: "This is General Hammond. Put the base on lock down, no one comes in and no one goes out. This is not a drill"

Hammond slams the phone back into its cradle, briskly crossing the room to look out the window for him self. Sam looks up from herself, making out the outlines of what could be bodies. She tries to see there faces, hoping to anyone who was listening that he wasn't up there, it was all really a dream and see was just having a nightmare. Something on the ramp caught her attention as it began it's descend down the ramp. It didn't look human at all from its outline, but it also had something in front of it.

Sam: "What's that coming towards us?"

Everyone in the room moves forward towards the window, almost squashing their face against the window, trying to get a better look at whatever it was. It was defiantly carrying something that look like an adult male, whether it was Jack was uncertain. It stops at the base of the ramp, coming into the light as it held up what it had been carrying. It looks like an insect of some sort, what looks to be an exoskeleton and an insect type head. Sam couldn't help but gasp as she recognized what it had been carrying.

Sam: "It's got Colonel O'Neill!"

She had to get in there, to stop it from hurting him anymore than it had already done. She jumps down off the console, knocking over the pile of papers off the side as she went, running as fast as she could down the stairs. Teal'c was quick to react, almost falling over himself as he jumps down the stairs after, grabbing hold of her arm to prevent her entering the gate room. She looks round at him, hoping that with a look she could paralyze him, so she could break out of his grip and go to the rescue of Jack. Teal'c just shakes his head at her, pulling her back up the stairs as she struggles against him, thrashing out at him with her free arm.

Sam: "Teal'c! Let go of me! We need to save the Colonel!" Teal'c: "We do not know if O'Neill is alive" Hammond: "He's right, Major"

She looks between them, knowing full well that they were both right. But she had to go to him thou; she couldn't stand to think that he was in pain or in trouble. She pulls her arm out of grip, grudging her way back up the stairs as she shove her hands into her pockets. Daniel being silent for most it leans down onto the control station, staring into the gate room at the alien. His eyebrows furrow together as he pushes himself away from the control station, pointing at the window as he look to the others.

Daniel: "Where'd the alien go?"

Sam frowns at him before she stands next to him, checking it out for herself as she looks into the gate room. The room was as it was before, the blood still dripping from the gate and anywhere else that protruded from the wall, but with Jack stood by him self as the base of the ramp. An evil grin spread across his face as he looks up into the control room at them. Sam could somehow tell that something wasn't right, the man stood in front of them, was somehow no longer the Colonel Jack O'Neill that she had some to love. Hammond cautiously steps forward to the mic, looking round the gate room as he addressed Jack.

Hammond: "Colonel O'Neill, are you okay?" Bar'tact: "This body no longer belongs to the one you called `O'Neill'. He is dead. I am Bar'tact and I am going to destroy you"

Hammond frowns at him as he takes his hand away from the mic, slamming it down onto blast doors switch. The blast doors fall down into position in front of the window, blocking off the sight of the gate room. Sam stands there staring at the blast door, almost like a zombie type of state as she bites down onto her bottom lip. Daniel places a hand on her shoulder, trying to comfort her as best as he could in their situation. She shrugs his hand away as she takes a deep breathe, putting herself into her military mode, turning off her feelings so she could get on with her job.

Hammond: "Right. Any ideas of what were dealing with?" Daniel: "Some life form that is like the Gould. Takes over the body" Teal'c: "There is a Hederyac on Chulak. That tells of a being, which was much more powerful than the Gould's"

Hammond and Sam look to Daniel, who was biting his thumb as he tries to recall the meaning. He frowns to himself as he hits the palm of his hand off his forehead, cursing himself for not remembering but them looks at Teal'c, and then at Hammond and Sam.

Daniel: "A Hederyac is a myth or legend" Carter: "Sir, I believe that Colonel O'Neill's still alive" Hammond: "How can you be so sure, Major?" Carter: "I can't explain it; it's just a feeling"

Hammond nods his head at her, trying to work out a plan of action before anything else happen. The room was suddenly fill with the lights from gate room that had come back on, the blast doors raise back into their positions as Jack stands there waving a finger at them. They all look at each other as a winding noise echoes throughout the room.

Daniel: "What's that noise?"

They all cover their ears as the noise gets louder, Sam frowns at them as she back away to the stairs, leading up into the briefing room. A machine against the wall behind Daniel explodes, sending sparks out towards them as the lights in the room begin to flicker. Sam sprints off up the stairs with the others in tow; they all make it up the stairs just as the room below as the room is filling with sparks from all the electrical equipment explodes. Hammond stands at he top of the stairs taking a deep breathe from his quick sprint, when a piece of equip flies up from the control room, hitting him on the back of the head causing him to fall forward. Teal'c catches him in his arms; picking him up onto his shoulders as he looks to Sam for orders. Sam looks round the room, trying to figure out a plan of action. She notices out of the window that showed the gate room ceiling, all the airmen were as if the were sticking out of the wall, their limbs sticking out from the cement. Jack suddenly appears outside the window, his face was darker than it usually was with that evil grin still on his face. His hair was standing on end like he'd had an electrocuted from something. Sam pushes Daniel and Teal'c towards Hammond's office, getting them out of there as fast as she could, watching Jack outside the window like she would watch the enemy. She slams the door shut behind, bracing her self against it as her life depended on it. The widening noise they heard in the control room, started up again with the lights flicking, threatening to put them in complete darkness. She looks at the computer as that was where the noise was coming from, she follows the leads from the back of it lead to the wall socket. She dives across the room, pushing Daniel out of the way as she pull the socket out of the wall. The widening noise immediately stops, putting them into complete silence apart from their breathing. She drops the plug as she leans down onto Hammond's desk.

Teal'c: "General Hammond is hurt, Major Carter" Carter: "He'll be safe in here"

She guides him towards the chair with a hand on the small of his back, towards the chair behind Hammond's desk. Daniel keeps a watchful eye out the window, which gave them the best tactical view of the briefing room. The adrenaline was rushing through his veins, the thumping noise in his ears evidence of that.

Carter: "Put him down in that chair"

Teal'c lowers Hammond into the chair, cradling his head as he rested it against the back of the chair. Sam locks the door leading to the briefing room, taking a chair from in front of Hammond's desk, wedging it under the door knob. Teal'c watches her for a moment before exiting the room into the corridor, checking that the close was clear before he motions for Daniel to follow him. Daniel grudging steps out into the corridor, checking for himself that the coast was clear as he stands behind Teal'c. Sam quickly checks Hammond over, making sure he was alright before leaving the room, locking the door behind her. She looks between Daniel and Teal'c, trying to think what to do. If it was anyone else that had been compromised, she wouldn't have any second thoughts about shooting them to their death, but this was Jack. The man who was like a god to some of the younger officers, the one who made her laugh even when they were about to die but she couldn't think of him that way. He had become the enemy and had to be stop before he did anymore damage. She frowns at the floor, setting off into at jogging speed down the corridor, with Daniel and Teal'c right by her side.

Daniel: "Where we going?" Sam: "Well, first of all. We need to shut the power off. From the looks of things, anything electrical will explode with him around" Teal'c: "Major Carter, the generators are on floor below. This level has no doubt been lock down. How are we to get there?"

Sam stops jogging turning to face them as they came to halt; she has a slight grin on her face as she looks between them. Daniel folds his arms in front of him, looking to Teal'c and then at Sam as she stood there grinning at them.

Sam: "I guess I'll have to go through the air ducts" Daniel: "Were coming with you, your not going alone" Carter: "Daniel, you and Teal'c are too big to fit down the air ducts" Daniel: "How would you know?"

Her grin changes into a full blown smile as she shoves her hands into her pockets. She rocks back and forth on the ball of her feet, glancing between the two men in front of her.

Sam: "Remember, when we were running drills a few months ago. And I was in charge of the enemy team" Daniel: "Yeah, Jack got annoyed because you guys kept popping up all over the place. Even rooms we'd already check" He stops, hitting his hand against his forehead. "You guys were using the air ducts to get around"

She nods her head at him, while checking the corridor over his shoulder, ready to jump into action if need be. He shakes his head at her, rubbing his eyes under his glasses. He sighs at her as he looks at Teal'c and then down the corridor behind them. Daniel: "Well, what can me and Teal'c doing? While you're shutting off the power" Sam: "I need you, to…keep him a muse. We need to find out, how we can get that thing out of him as well"

Daniel nods his head at her again, it still hadn't sunk in yet that what had happened. Sam touches his shoulder, trying her best to comfort him as much as she could at that very moment. She looks at the wide open door next to them, the air duct clearly visible to her. She pats his arm as she quickly walks into the room. She climbs onto the table below the hatch leading to the air duct, pulling her penknife out of her pocket, flicking out the needed attachment for the job. She quickly undoes the screws letting drop to the floor, pulling the cover off the opening, dropping it to the floor as she took a look inside. The widening noise started up again, the lights flicking just like before. Sam looks at Teal'c; he nods his head before carefully looking out in to the corridor. Jack slowly walks down the corridor towards them, looking in the various rooms on his way.

Teal'c: "Major Carter, you better go now. He is coming"

She nods her head, scrambling up through the opening, trying not to make a lot of noise as she did it, then she was gone. Teal'c pulls Daniel up against the wall, the electrical equipment in the room, sending a spray of sparks over them as they explode. Jack stops outside the door as the room fell into complete darkness.

Jack: "I will find you; it may take me a while. But I will find you...Teal'c and Daniel"

Daniel frowns to himself looking up at Teal'c, who was watching as Jack ran off down the corridor. Slowly he looks out into the corridor, checking to see if it was clear again. Seeing that it was clear for them, he grab Daniel's jacket with out looking, pulling him with him as he they ran off down the corridor in the opposite direction of Jack.

***************************************************************************************************

It didn't take Sam long, to get down to the next level as she scrambled to the opening leading to the generator room. She peers through the cover, trying to see if the coast was clear as she unscrews the cover, letting it drop to the floor. She lowers her self into the room, her back to the door as she stretches her arms. The door bursts open as a security detail, rushes into the room with their weapons pointed at her ready to shoot. She quickly raises her hands into the air, taking a step back as the room suddenly became very crowded.

Sam: "Hold on, guys!" Lieutenant Sears: "Sir? Are you...yourself?" Carter: "Yeah. It's just Colonel O'Neill" She looks at their handguns; if they were gonna take Jack alive, they certainly weren't going to used them. "Take those back to the armory, issue everyone with Zac and bring one to me as well"

They all leave as quickly as they had come in, as Sam sighs to herself, placing her hands on her hips and looks up at the ceiling. She turns round to the control panels behind her, she starts turning all the switches off, making all the light on the panels changed to red. She still hadn't taken in what had happen, the man she loves was now the enemy, and she had to stop him even if it resorted to killing him. She needed time to take it all in but time as always wasn't on her side. The airmen promptly file back into the room; she turns round to Sears, his arm stretch out to her, presenting her with a Zac. She takes the Zac from him, nodding her thanks as she shoves it in the back of her pants. She switches the last switch on the control panel, making the whole go into darkness as all the lights on it were turn off.

Sam: "Right. Who was on my team for the drills?"

About half of them raised their hands as the room fell into silence. She hated times like theses, they needed to know what was going on, but she didn't really have anything to tell them. All of them were looking to her for the answers; something she wasn't used to as she normally didn't have such a big audience.

Sam: "Right, the ones whose hands are raised are coming with me. The rest of you; you'll need to find your own way to the gate room level. Use whatever you can find to get yourselves up there. But whatever you do, no one, I repeat, no one shoots Colonel O'Neill twice. He's still one of own even if he's been compromised. Okay?" All of them: "Yes, ma'am"

Half of them left the room being lead by Lieutenant Sears, disappearing down the corridor in the direction of the elevators. She looks over her half, some of the faces she recognized from the drills. All of them; waiting for her instructions, looking between themselves for the answers. She looks down at the floor, resting her hands on her hips as she looks back up at them.

Sam: "Were gonna use the air ducts just as we did in the drills. Take your time and keep yourselves focus. I don't want anything going wrong or anyone being killed for that matter"

She shakes her head at them as she turns to the opening above her head. She swings her arms a little, building up some momentum before she leapt up, catching the edge of the air duct. She pulls her self up into the dark cramp space, setting off back where she'd just come from with the others slowly following her.

Daniel was sprinting down the corridor follow by Teal'c. The emergency lights lining the corridor exploded above them as they came round the corner, entering another corridor towards the probe room. Daniel stops dead in his tracks as he catches sight of Jack standing at the end of the corridor, with an M16 in hand as he came towards them. Teal'c pulls Daniel into the nearest room just in time, as the edge of the door was covered in a spray of bullet holes. Teal'c pushes Daniel further into the room, as he pushes himself against the wall, trying to make himself as flat as possible, taking a look outside into the corridor.

Daniel: "Where the hell is he getting all those weapons from?" Teal'c: "If he has O'Neill's knowledge, then he will know where all the weapon storage closets are" Daniel: "That proves that Jack's still in there. He has to be, how else would he know that?"

Teal'c moves further out into the corridor, he couldn't see if Jack was still there from his position. Slowly, he takes a step out into the corridor, only feel a sharp pain go through his leg, making him drop to the floor in agony. He looks up towards Daniel, clutching at his leg with one hand as he tries to stop him with the other.

Teal'c: "Do not come out here!" Daniel: "Teal'c?" Teal'c: "He is using me as bait; he is trying to lure you out"

Daniel steps back into the room, just as hand drop onto his shoulder, making him suddenly turn round, grabbing the hand from his shoulder, throwing them into the wall. Daniel curses to at himself as he sees it was Sam, she falls to the floor with an almighty thud. She shakes her head getting to her feet, wiping the dust off her clothes as she looks up at Daniel.

Sam: "Daniel, that's not a nice way to greet anyone" Daniel: "Sorry, Sam. Teal'c's been shot in the leg, but Jack out there waiting for someone to go out there. He knows everything Jack would know" Sam: "Well, then we could have a problem". She bends down, lying flat against the floor as she shuffles her way forwards towards Teal'c. "Teal'c, were going to pull you in. Keep an eye out for him"

She gets up off the floor, looking at Daniel and then at where Teal'c's feet lay on the floor. Daniel steps up next to her, repositioning his glasses as he waited for his orders. She taps him on the chest, pointing to one of Teal'c's feet as she bends down to take the other one.

Sam: "You grab a leg, I'll grab one and we pull on three"

She looks down at Teal'c's face; he shakes his head at her, looking off down the corridor. She tightens her grip on his leg, turning her knuckles white in the process. She looks at Daniel next to her, their shoulders brushing against each other as they got ready to pull.

Sam: "One...Two...Three"

They pulled together, sliding Teal'c into the room as they walk backwards, further into the room. A shoot was fired ricocheting off the floor, hitting Sam in the shoulder, forcing her to fall backwards onto the floor. She clutches at her shoulder, groaning at the floor as she rolls onto her front. Daniel's by her side in a heart beat, carefully helping her back up onto her feet. She looks up at ceiling praying to anyone who's listening that this wasn't happening to her. She sniffs to herself as she takes the Zac out from the back of her pants. She activates the Zac making a widening noise as it powers up. Daniel looks at it knowing what they'd all fear was about to take place, she was going to have to take one of their own out. They nod their heads at each other; Sam turns towards the door way, wincing at the pain from her shoulder as she squashed herself up the wall. She curses at herself before firing some shots down the corridor, not really bother if they hit him or not. Something drops to the floor, making a clanking noise as it settle on the floor, but was soon follow by an in-human scream. She slowly looks round the door frame; she could see Jack knelt on the floor, holding his head in his hands, rocking back and fourth on his knees. She slips out into the corridor, keeping her back press firmly against the wall behind her. She tries her best to keep her Zac aim at him; hoping to whatever god was out there that she wouldn't have to fire again. A screeching noise fills the corridor; forcing her to cover her ears, trying best to keep an eye on Jack. The creature appears behind Jack, just as his body slumps forward onto the cold cement floor. The creature looks at Sam, pointing towards the Zac that she had pointed at him.

Bar'tact: "You have Gould technology. How can that be? You may have won this time, but I will be back. You can count on it, Carter" Sam: "Not, if I have anything to do with it"

She shoots him with the Zac, making him step backwards until his back was press against the wall behind him. On the eight shot, the creature was vaporized leaving no trace of him whatsoever. She drops the Zac onto the floor, rushing as fast as she could to get to Jack, who hadn't moved since he slump forward. She drops onto the floor next him, pulling his head into her lap, checking for pulse as quick as she could. She sighs in relief as she lowers her head down, resting her forehead against his. Daniel comes out of the room, hastily dropping onto the floor next to her, trying to look at her face for any sign of hope.

Daniel: "Did you kill him? Jack, I mean" Sam: "No"

She gently lowers Jack's head back onto the floor, pushing herself to her feet with her good arm, going back into the room where Teal'c was lying on the floor. She smiles down at him as she steps over him, grabbing the phone out of its cradle on the wall.

Sam: "This is Major Carter. Take the base off lock down. The situation has been resolved. Send medical teams to corridor B4 and General Hammond's office, the doors lock so you'll need a key"

She replaces the phone back in its cradle, leaning back against the wall as she slip down the wall, keeping a protective hand over her wound. Teal'c sits up straight from lying down, taking a look at the wound on his leg for the first time. He probes the wound with his finger, making more blood ooze out of it, soaking into his pants. He looks up at Sam, cocking his head to one side as he look at her blood soak shoulder.

Sam: "How you doing, Teal'c?" Teal'c: "My symbiote will repair the damage. How is your shoulder, Major Carter?"

She lifts her hand away from the wound, taking a quick look before replacing her hand over it. She rests her head back against the wall, looking up at the ceiling, trying to stop her tears that were threatening to fall down her cheeks. She just might of kill him, and all she'd come away with is a shoulder wound.

Sam: "I'll live"

The room suddenly became busy with medical teams, working their magic over her and Teal'c. Cleaning their wounds and bandaging them up, as they quickly took Jack away to the infirmary. All she could think about was him, the man of dreams looking a deathly blue as they'd rushed him away on a gurney. Was Jack going to survive, or was she destined to be alone forever?
