The phone rang exactly six minutes before her alarm – just like every morning.
“So, what’ll it be today?”
She smiled as she gave her answer considered weight. “Well, Jonas wore green all week, so I say blue for a change of pace.”
“But not tell him.”
“Sir.”
“Carter.”
“You shouldn’t be mean to him.”
“It’s not mean, it’s hazing.”
“Whenever you’re that gleeful, it’s mean.”
“Whatever, see you at work. I’ll call Jonas, tell him about the blue.”
“I’ll call Jonas, you tell Teal’c.”
“You’re no fun.”
“I know, sir.”
“Bye Carter.”
The alarm sounded. Time to start the day.
