Summary: 2001 Shared Dreaming Challenge. Has anyone out there either experienced or is familiar with 'lucid dreaming'? It is a very special state of dreaming where you literally 'wake up' in the dream. You become totally conscious of the dream environment to the same extent that you are in the waking world. Everything has the same quality of being 'real'. The main difference, however, is that you have a certain degree of control as to what happens, where you are, who you meet, etc. I've been fortunate enough to have had some wonderful experiences with it, from flying to meeting famous people, to traveling to exotic places. I have read of some individuals who are so skilled that they can program their dreams each night. In one case I read about a woman who spent a romantic and passionate 'dream- day- and- night' with her favorite actor, and in a another, how a man serving a life sentence lives the life he would in the outside world, each night while he sleeps. Now, there is something additional that I have to mention. There are also lesser known practices called 'dreaming together' where the consciousness of more than one indivudial share a dream. If you want more info you can e- mail me directly, but I wanted to keep this as brief as possible for now. By now you know where I'm going with this. Let's say that SG interacts with a race that introduces this technique, perhaps gives them the ability to use it very proficiently. Now, anytime S&J are asleep at the same time, they can explore their relationship in any way possible. The questions are, how would they feel about this 'loophole' in the regs? Would either of them feel it would threaten their professionalism-- jepardize their ability to funtion together in life threatening situations?

Summary: 2001 Women Rule Challenge. I remember reading an article where AT says she'd like an ep where the team goes to a planet ruled by women and it would be interesting to see if their society is less violent, etc. I'm pretty sure I've red a fic where Sam is considered a queen but I still think it can be developed a bit more.

Summary: 2001 Grease Challenge. So the challenge : the SGC does a play for charity, I know far fetched, but they are putting on a production Grease and the parts of Danny and Sandy are played by Jack and Sam!!!! For the purposes of this fic J/S will have GREAT voices and the play should be a hit. But how do they cope with 'You're the one that I want' and this scene should be in the fic. So Summary : Must have : 1) SGC putting on a production of Grease 2) Danny/Sandy are to be played by Jack/Sam 3) Must have the Fair Scene with 'You're the one that I want'.

A) SG1 find out about a drug addiction jack once had B) Jack gets addicted to pills janet or someone else gives him for pain relief or something and SG1 must help him C) or someone from Jacks past turns up and tells SG1 accidentily about how Jack had to take strong pills because of a mental problem * No character deaths if possible Please! * Shipper moments worked into the story some how * Some major angst please but nothin too nasty.

Summary: 2001 Every Other Word Challenge. Write a Sam and Jack story, as long as possible without getting farcical, where every other word is either Sam or Jack. You can have Jack/blank/Jack or Sam/blank/Sam or Sam/black/Jack or whatever (you get the picture) but every other word MUST be one of the two. Sentences have to make approximate sense either grammatically or colloquially.

Summary: 2001 Carter's Father Challenge. Write a fic that reveals the fact that Jacob Carter is not Carter's biological father...that in fact her father is Colonel Mayborne (light eyes) (unbeknownst to everyone except Mom, Mayborne, and Jacob). Mayborne had just found out a couple years ago...Jacob's known from the beginning (but considers her HIS daughter and loves her as such). I don't care about rating and such.

Summary: 2001 Reinfected Challenge. Jack, Sam, and anyone else that was originally infected with the virus in Broca Divide, get reinfected with it. Can you imagine what would happen to our couple?

Summary: 2001 Compliments Challenge. Write an S/J fic where everytime Joe pays Sam some kind of compliment about how smart she is or whatever - it backfires and just further serves to make Sam realize how fortunate she is to have Jack and the rest of the team around her. You know...the men in her life who don't treat her any differently from everybody else just because she's super smart and pretty. And make it where Joe doesn't get that he's just offending her more and more with each compliment.

Summary: 2001 Missed Opportunities Challenge. Okay, so it's been mentioned again how many missed opportunities there have been in S5. Rewrite a scene or an entire ep the way you think it * should * have been. Make it shippier, but try to remain true to canon (that is, rewrite it in a way that might have actually made it to screen -- more UST/genuine caring than anything else, where it wouldn't affect subsequent eps. Guess that means no sex, huh?
