I LOVE YOU, I KILLED YOU
The dark night sky was lit up by the three full moons that rose. One moon was a fiery red, one a dull orange and one a bright yellow. A circle of trees surrounded the StarGate, spanning beyond that was a, thick large forest. The forest was full of clear blue lakes, filled with unknown fish. There were unknown animals prowling though the forest, and exotic birds made their nest in the high branches of old trees. Sam sat on the StarGate’s steps and watched as Jack paced back and forward in front of her.
"I’m sure they’ll be here soon, Colonel."
Jack stopped in front of her. Sam caught a glimpse at his face; he was pissed off. P3X yada, yada, ya was a dull uninhabited planet. Upon arrival SG-1 had decided to split up. Daniel and Teal’c went one way, Sam and Jack went the other way. They were meant to meat up at the StarGate before sundown, the sun went down about an hour ago.
Jack let out a heavy sigh and sat down next to Sam. He put his face in his hands and rested his elbows on his knees. "For crying out loud," O’Neill muttered under his breath. Jack sounded tied and worn out. Sam looked at him with pure concern.
"Maybe we should go look for them?" Sam suggested.
Jack turned to her with his look of ‘I was going to say that. Not’ on his face. "Yeah," Jack said, standing. He saw Sam doing the same. "I’ll go myself." Before Sam could protest he added. "You stay here in case they come back."
Jack could see the hurt in Sam’s eyes. "Yes sir," Carter muttered out.
Jack was standing a few feet in front of Sam, who was standing at the bottom of the StarGate. Away to Jack’s left he hared the crunch of dry leaves under someone’s feet, who ever this person was he didn’t want his pray to hear him. Both Sam and Jack turned their weapons to the noise and flipped off the safety switch, just in case.
Sam turned to her left as she was distracted by a flock of birds screeching over head. "Sam!" Jack yelled.
Sam turned to him but was hit in the arm by an energy weapon. She fell to the ground in pain. She watched Jack fire, then fall to the ground. No energy weapon was fired. Rain stared to fall down heavily, soaking the ground in wet moisture. It was as though wet tears were falling from the sky.
"Colonel?" Sam whispered, as she pushed herself to her feet. Her arm was covered in blood, her clothes soaked with water and covered in mud. Her hair was all mattered and wet and her face had spots of mud on it. Sam looked over to the person who shot her, a Jaffa. Damn him. Sam thought.
Then something else caught her eye; a still wet body, lying on the ground. "Colonel?" Suddenly a large lump filled her throat. Sam had a bad feeling about that body. As she drew closer Sam saw that blood run down from the side of his neck. "No," Sam’s voice quivered. "I, I couldn’t."
She fell to her knees next to him. Her eyes filled with tears, that stung her eyes and made her want to cry even more. Sam’s arm all of a sudden stopped stinging and her wet clothes felt even wetter. A sharp stabbing pain filled her chest.
"Colonel, I…I’m sor," the words caught in her throat. Sam placed a hand on his neck, to try and stop the bleeding. Her other hand lifted up his head out of the mud. Her heart ached when she hared him choking on his own blood. Jack opened his eyes a little, trying to blink out the rain, in a fail attempt.
"Sam…?" The word barley came out.
Carter wiped away blood that rain down the side of his mouth. Jack rolled his eyes back, choking at the same time, his breathing stopped. Jack was dead.
"No!" Sam’s screams echoed though the surrounding forest. She buried her head in Jack’s now still moving chest and cried. "I shot him, I shot him." Sam repeated over and over. The words, I love you, I killed you circled in her head over and over. Sam passed out unconscious due to blood lost.
The end.
