Journal Entry 2570 dated: Dec. 2nd, 1982
It's been 5 days since, well, since everything changed for me. Even Dad noticed almost immediately upon arriving home 2 days ago. Dad even made an effort to talk to me about... well woman's stuff. I really have to laugh, the look on his poor face when he first started to ask if there was anything I needed, he looked petrified. Well Dad, that is one of the joy's of having a daughter. Although the silence between us was uncomfortable during his initial inquiries, but after I said I had talked to a woman friend about this already, he seemed to relax a little, almost smiling now. Dad says, since he missed my Special Day, that tonight we would be going out to dinner. Off base, and I had exactly 1 hour to get ready. So I sit here in my room using the last 20 minutes up before we head out. I've dressed up for this, cause I know Dad will be doing his 'Proud Father' thing tonight. I hate heels, so very unpractical in my opinion. Oh well a couple of hours won't kill me, and since it looks like Dad got over the initial panic, and realized he wouldn't have to have "that" talk with me, we should be able to go out and have a nice dinner. Just the two of us. Things certainly have changed all right.
***
2 1/2 hours later
The ride back from Fiora Cantina, my favorite pasta restaurant in town was done in comfortable silence, occasionally one of us commenting on this or that, I finally asked the question I've been wanting to since he got home today. I start slowly. "Dad, do you think you can get me a phone card... like a long distance calling card"
Dad's interest peaked now, his eyes lite up as he asks. "A long distance calling card, Sammie... why"
I continue on, not pausing to answer his question. "Dad, the phone company wont issue me one, cause the phone is not in my name or something stupid like that.... but I won't abuse it or go insane and call Africa or anything... it's just that" I stumble along, all the while, aware Dad is watching me as he drives, he knows I'm getting nervous, and finally puts his hand over mine as he speaks.
"Sammie, your woman friend doesn't live around here, I take it? Is that it, honey?"
I nod my head 'yes' without looking over to him. Dad looks relieved to say the least, and agrees immediately. "We can go and get you one tomorrow, how is that. Now anything else I can get my girl tonight."
Dad's in his 'Proud" mode once again, and it's nice to see, I've missed him lately. This was too important for both of us not to share. "Thanks Dad" I finish softly.
We arrive at home, once again, Dad pulls the car up and stops, as I slowly get out, noticing the lights on in the house, thinking to myself 'Marks home' then without another thought, I turn to scan the street in both directions in front of our quarters looking for a certain someone's Red Mustang... no were to be found. Dad is saying something to me now.
Turning back toward him "Ahhh sorry, Dad I was just looking for....."
"Looking for what Sammie?" Dad's grinning now, actually grinning at me, it's infectious and I can't help myself but smile back, feeling the blush creeping up my neck towards my face.
I start "Dad, nothing really just looking"
"Ahh okay Sammie if you say so...." Dad lets it drop. Thank God. He comes around my side of the car and puts his arm around my shoulder leading me into the house. It's late now, I say my hello and good night to Mark, after asking how things have been going at the Academy, he's as vague as always. Brothers!
Dad, however, doesn't miss a beat, he pulls me into one of his big "I love you" hugs, kisses the top of my head and tells me to get to bed. You see, Dad doesn't actually say "I Love You" out loud anymore, in fact I haven't heard that particular phrase coming from him since.... well since Mom died.
The next morning, I wake, slowly making my way to the bathroom to access the damage, smiling now I remember the wonderful night Dad and I shared, shaking my head at the wonder of it all. Dad may not be the most open man but he definitely knows how to get his point across.
I silently thank him again. After scaring myself with a quick look in the mirror, run cold water over my face, and stumble back towards my room, I can hear voices in the kitchen, must be Dad and Mark going at it again, Man those two need a referee. Looks like I'm the lucky winner again. Groaning softly, I throw on an old pair of shorts and a T-shirt, quickly grabbing a ball cap off my dresser and securing it in place, I make my way toward the kitchen, rounding the corner, I stop in mid greeting.... There sitting at my kitchen table in living color is Jack O'Neill....
"Jack..." is about all I manage to get out, when I hear Mark behind me chuckling.
"Hey Sam what's with the red face.... something you want to share with us huh?"
I could crawl up into a little ball right here, right now and die.. quite happily die, in fact! "Mark leave me alone, can't you just be a normal brother and say Good Morning... Oh wait .. that's right your NOT normal are you" standing tall as I deliver my last statement.
It's Jack's turn to chuckle and I turn quickly facing him with my hands planted firmly on my hips. Jack raises his hands in mock surrender "Wait a minute Sam... I'm a friend remember, save the attach for the one who deserves it... Like Mark over there" Hooking a thumb in Mark's direction, he's smiling as he speaks, and I can feel my own smile breaking across my face.
Still keeping eye contact with Jack I hear myself say "Good Morning Jack, how have you been, how's the car running?" Good one Sam ask about his car, he loves that car.
At my question, Jack's face lights up "Things are going great, the car runs like a dream, thanks for asking Sam"... Was that a wink... Did Jack just wink at me... No, I'm not fully awake yet... it couldn't have a been a wink, not in front of Mark and God and everyone. Could it? No, something in his eye most likely.
Dad enters the kitchen and saves me from saying anything else stupid, he greets Jack and Mark and inquires as to what they are doing today, as usual Marks mumbles something incoherent under his breath and Jack merely shrugs his shoulders.
"Well, my beautiful daughter and I are going shopping today... In Town. Dad looks at me and laughs at the shocked expression found on my face. "Sam, I can't have you walking around in those shorts, look at them, is that paint on the backside... when were you painting last?"
Oh god.... don't tell me I put on the shorts from Art class, 2 weeks ago, while in Art class, somebody decided it would be fun to paint my chair.. however the fun part, I soon found out, was not telling me about it. I sat right down, completely obvious to the fact that the seat was painted yellow.... Yellow for Christ sakes.... Yellow on dark green shorts. Lovely! Blushing uncontrollable now I mumble a simple swear under my breath, and quickly leave the room. God, could you please open up the sky right now send something crashing down onto me putting me out of my misery or do I have to go looking for the nearest bridge!
Changing quickly, and heading back downstairs, I notice Jack lounging against the wall. "Ummm Jack..." I start quietly. He saves me from further embarrassment and speaks "Sam, I was just wondering if you called my Mom, the other day.... you know...." Jack let his question hang in the air.
"Ahhh... Yes Jack I did, in fact your Mom is great, she said I could call her anytime, I talked with Dad last night and he said he would get me my own calling card today, so now if I have any questions for her, it will be on my dime" I say rather proudly.
Jack has a strange expression on his face at my last comment, but he covers up quickly. "Sam, I told you she doesn't mind collect calls, besides if you start paying for your own calls, she is going to make me do the same" Jack trying to make this conversation as lite as possible. We're both smiling at his last comment. Relaxed again we stand and look at each other, not saying anything else, just watching each other. I hear Dad call my name and I'm brought out of my thoughts, which is probably for the best since I was thinking about what Jack would look like in a Speedo. A very tiny, very black Speedo swin suit. I'm blushing again, and Jack notices, turning away from him, I mumble a good bye and exit the hallway to find Dad. What I don't see, however, is the look on Jack's face as I turn away. Dad's in the kitchen and ready to go. With our good byes said we are gone.

The old adage: If a tree falls in the forest and there is no one there to hear it, does it make a sound. I can top that one. If Jack O'Neill remembers this day and sends me 12 gorgeous Tulips would I make a sound as I fall over and hit the ground. Answer Yes. Thud. He actually remembered.... I'm still reeling, shocked actually, and the card, the card was beautiful it read: It read: 'Dear Sam, I thought I'd mark this day with flowers. To Womanhood! signed: Your Jack. My Jack.... I turn that very thought over and over again, shaking my head and smiling is about all I can do.

Journal Entry 3282 Dated: June 21st, 1984
The past seven months have gone rather smoothly, Dad's made it home after ever mission without incident, well not much incident anyway. I used to worry alot after we lost Mom, him going to battle leading his men into God only knows what kind of hell, but I've come to realize that Dad is doing what he loves, really loves. And he's good at it, hell he's great at it That is the thought that keeps me safe and warm at night, well that and knowing he would never leave me if he could possible help it.
Today Mark Graduates from the Academy, Dad made it home late last night, like I knew he would, although they don't get along as well as I would like, they both realize that we are all we have. We need to be there for each other, good and bad times, even Mark seems to have eased up a bit on me, not much, but I can almost see the start of a human being somewhere in there, struggling to get out. I'm happy for Mark, he worked hard to graduate, even though I had to help him with his Science courses, which mostly went unappreciated.
What I'm most excited about is the prospect of seeing Jack again. Ohhhh and he'll be in his uniform to... God he looks good in that uniform. The last time I saw him he stopped by my seventeenth birthday party to drop off a card and a small gift, both the card and gift are stashed securely away, I often bring the card out and re-read his message. To My Sam... what a great start. Happy Birthday to a very special woman. He signs it 'Your Jack', which is one of the reasons this card never made it passed my Dad for inspection. I know Jack didn't mean it the way, I interrupt it, but hey that's my prerogative. So his card says hidden in my room coming out only when I feel alone, usually when Dad is off on a mission. Anyway back to my day. I bought a special dress the other day for this occasion, I can't wait to see Jacks face, it's dark green with an open neckline, nothing to revealing of course, or I'd never get passed Dad, but it's elegant, and that's' what I was going for. That and well... Mark said dark green was Jacks favorite color, if Mark lied to me, he's a dead man. I don't even care anymore, cause today I get to see Jack again, this time maybe we'll even get to hang for awhile, after all this ceremony is an all day affair, with dinner and dancing later tonight.
***
1 hour later
Finally, we made it to the field where the Graduation ceremony is to be held, it's a big deal like I expected it would be, the stands have all been decorated with the standard red white and blue, everything looks great. Mark leaves us after noticing his graduating class gathering on the far side of the field. I never got a chance to ask him if he's spoken to Jack today or not... I try not to ask Mark directly, about Jack, it's just to easy for him to take pot shots at me. So, I now ask all my 'Jack' question to the woman who actually knows him the best... His Mom, Helen O'Neill. We talk so often now, Mrs. O'Neill insists I call her by her first name, but after explaining I couldn't do that, she humors me and lets me call her Mrs. O. Now according to Mrs. O, Jack should be here already, she even said he was excited about Mark's Graduation.
Lost in my own thoughts, I'm complete unaware of his presence until I hear his voice behind me. "Sam, you look lovely today, the dress is new isn't it?"
I eye him suspiciously before I speak "Jack, that's not fair you were talking with your Mom weren't you?"
He knows I've got him and doesn't even try to get out of it. He just gives me that famous "Jack O'Neill" smile and shrugs his shoulders. "Okay, so Mom mentioned you were going shopping... I just figured, well... she meant for this ceremony, you really do look beautiful" That was all I needed my day had been made. Dad came over as Jack was just finishing up his last statement, motioning us to take our seats. I silently prayed Jack would sit next to me, and he did. Yes a good day indeed. The ceremony was interesting if not long, but Jack took the time to explain the process, as the men were marched infront of the stands, occasionally a comment could be heard through the crowd, a proud parent lost in there joy of seeing there son graduate. Dad of course remained quiet, but I could see the smile he so carefully tried to hide just below the surface. I grab Dad's hand and gave it a quick squeeze, he returns my gesture before letting my hand fall away. With the ceremony over, and family members gathering around there respective sons, the three of us make our way over to Mark and his friends.
Jack is the first one to extend his hand and congratulate Mark. Both grinning like they know something the rest of us don't . Dad is next, he finally favors Mark with the smile he's been hiding all along, telling him he was proud of him today. It's nice to see the invisible barrier finally fall between them, if only for a few hours.
My turn. "Mark, you finally completed something... I'm truly shocked. Oh yeah here's the ten dollars I own you." sticking a somewhat crumpled, ten dollar bill out in front of him.
This sets Mark off into laughing fits, after regaining control again, he says "Sam, you can keep your ten dollars... you deserve it for all the help you gave me with my classes"
I won't hear of it. After all a deal is a deal right. "No way, your the one who deserves it, I still can't believe you Graduated" All eyes are on me, and I realize everyone is expecting a explanation of our strange conversation, so I start. "I made a bet with Mark five months ago that he would never make it... He was having more than a few problems with grasping the concept of Physics" I laugh out loud at this, everyone is grinning including Mark and myself, I look up and notice Jack smiling his sweet smile, I have to look away, not wanting to show him exactly what his smile does to me.
We all head over to the dinning room to start the festivities. Dad offers me his arm and I expect it. We stroll through the crowds looking for our table. Dad sees it first and ushers me over, holding the chair out for me. Dinner comes and goes, and the dancing portion of the evening is about to start. I shift nervously in my seat, hoping, no praying Jack will ask me to dance just once.
The party is in full swing now, Dad was the first to ask me to dance, it was a waltz, and I'm thankful he's a good dancer, in fact I remember the day when he taught me how to dance. I was twelve and my school was having a coed dance. This of course freaked me out totally. Dad knew something was up, and after about 20 minutes got me to tell him what my problem was, upon hearing it was only a dance, he cleared away the dinning room table placing the chairs on top to make more room, he pulled out his old Frank Sinatra records and proceeded to spend the next two hours showing me all "His Moves". We ended up laughing, falling to a heap on the floor after he made an attempt to dip me. That was one of those days you just never forget. It had been so long since I'd seen him happy, laughing, unguarded. Today was another I could add. He was glowing. Proud of us both.
After sitting out a few more dances and turning down some of Mark's friends when they asked me to dance, I was silently wishing for Jack to ask me. When dad came up behind me and said it was getting late and we needed to head out, he had an early day, Dad must have seen the trepidation on my face, he relented and said "Okay, Sammie, another 1/2 hour, but that's all. Okay" I smiled up at Dad and thanked him quietly. Scanning the room once again for Jack, I spot him against the back wall a drink in his hand smiling and talking with a few guys. He looks over at the table and sees me watching him. Oh God. Busted! 'Okay Sam look busy, look interested in the conversation going around the table, just don't look over at Jack. Don't.' Damn... I looked, he's heading over to the table. Wondering if I can get out of this room, my eyes darting for the nearest exits.
My chance to flee has passed as I hear Jack come up behind me, leaning towards me, he speaks. "Sam, would you like to dance.... I'm definitely not as good as your Dad, but Mom taught me how not to dance on your toes. Care to give it a go?" Did he just wag his eyebrows at me? A smile spreads across my face, feeling my self blushing again. I nod yes, and slip my right hand into his extended left hand. He pulls me gently to my feet and leads me over to the dance floor which is rather crowded, we start slow I can feel Jack's hand circle my waist, I'm holding my breath. Jack tugs at my waist, leans in and says "Breathe Sam, it's okay relax, I'm not going to hurt you"
"I know your not going to hurt me Jack.... it's just... "
Jack's smile is spreading across his face, before he speaks again. "It's just what Sam...?"
Leaving his question hanging like I had just done, I finally look up into his eyes and see them shinning back at me. "I... it's... never mind Jack" He chuckles at my attempt to get a coherent thought out. I'm not amused.
The song ends all to soon, and I can see Dad pointing at his watch as we leave the dance floor, coming over to us, Dad tells me my 1/2 hour is up and it's really time to go. Turning to face Jack, I thank him for the dance and without giving it second thought I say "Not bad at all Jack, you only stepped on 3 toes, I'll let your Mom know you need a few more lessons, next time your home"
I'm grinning at him now, and Jack laughs, not a chuckle, but an actual laugh. It sounds beautiful. I made Jack laugh, by insulting him! Hmmm he is indeed a strange man. I file away that last thought as I gather up my purse and give Dad the 'okay I'm ready' look. Jack smiles as I turn at the door giving him my "Very Best Sam" smile and wave as we leave. I'm lost in my own thoughts, about Jack and when I will get to see him again.
Dad notices, and simply says "Honey, there is always Christmas". I'm too shocked to say anything, now it's Dad's turn to chuckle. He leads me back to the car and we drive home, talking about how the night was, how Mark looked so happy. A good day all round.
***
The summer passed without much happening, I hadn't seen nor heard from Jack personally, but thankful Mrs. O had kept me updated, the few times we've talked since Mark's graduation. Mark is now at a base in Georgia somewhere, he's doing fine, and really likes his new squad. We get postcards from him every once and awhile, I look forward to them in fact, which is surprising since I couldn't wait until he was gone and the pot shots and wise cracks had ended, now I kinda miss him, and his attempt to irritate me.

I came home from Class today to find the most beautiful bouquet of Tulips on my door step again. Hand written in a scrawl I would know anywhere... was a note from Jack. He remembered. Again.
***
Christmas came and went, unfortunately, Jack never made it home for the holidays. I talked to Mrs. O alot over the past month, she's not heard from Jack at all, but that's not a surprise. Dad tells me sometimes you can be in the bush for weeks on end without any communication to the outside world. This doesn't help me much but I can only hope all is well with him, and God is keeping him safe.
We got a card last February post marked after December, so I figured Dad had it right when he said he was knee deep in some bush somewhere trying not to get his head shot off. Thinking to myself 'Jack you better not come home dead one of these days.... or I swear I'll kill you myself!
My eighteenth birthday was marked with another bouquet of flowers, this time white roses. The note read: "Sweet Sam.... thinking of you on this special day, I hope to be home soon. We will go out when I get back, I haven't eaten Ice Cream Sundaes in ages. My treat this time! Signed: Your Jack. I laughed at his reference to ice cream sundaes remembering that day we spent in the ice cream shop.

Today is the day I've been waiting for all year. I'm out from underneath the hell which is so commonly referred to as High School. It's not easy being the brightest one in school. Not to mention that fact that the brightest are the ones that are so easily the brunt of all the jokes and crap, I actually answer to the word 'Geek' now.... If I had known taking that advance Physics course was going to cause this much grief I'd have never done it, on the other hand it's a credited course at University, so there is that. Ahhh University, that starts in a few months. Wow, where has the time gone. Anyway I have to get back to finding my other high heel or I'll be accepting my Honors in Applied Sciences Award wearing my old sneakers... Hey that could be fun too! Geek! I'll show them Geek!
***
The event went without a hitch, I found my other shoe, which is good, I guess, even if I silently wished I could have accepted my 'Geek' award in sneakers, if only to see the looks on the faces of my professors.
Dad was great, he was doing his 'Proud Father' thing again, it's funny to watch him in that 'Mode', happy and content. Jack didn't make it, Mrs. O called to say, she had heard from him, and he was going to send me special something, which may or may not ever arrive, military mail sucks... on a continuing basis! I do know that he is okay, that is what really matters, I miss him, I really thought at some point I would start to get over this... what I feel for him, but the more time we spend apart the more I know it's love... and it's not going away.

Today I rushed home to find not only flowers on my door step, but Jack as well. He just keep surprising me over and over again.
***
Sam, sat quitely in her room and remebered her day with Jack. She pulled out her journal to write.
***
Jack's on my doorstep! Without thinking I dropped my book bag and ran straight up to Jack and threw myself at him full force. He had to stagger to keep us both upright, I of course was obvious to it all. I couldn't believe he made it home safe and sound, and he was here to see me.
"Jack, I've missed you so much, how are you, you look thinner, those rations suck don't they?" Jack's laughing at me now as I pull away to look at him. "What" I ask cautiously.
Jack speaks for the first time. "Sam, I've missed you too, I'm fine, and yes the rations suck!" I realize then that I had bombarded the poor man with a string of questions before he even got a hello out.
Taking my time, I look up into his eyes and saw how truly tried he is. "Jack when did you get home? You look like your going to fall asleep any second?"
With this said, Jack smiles at me "Sam, I literally just got off the plane and wanted to get here before you arrived home, I couldn't make arrangements to have flowers here in time and I wanted you to know I hadn't forgot what day this is. I haven't you know! So I brought them myself this time" He's voice was so soft by the time he finished, I wasn't sure if I heard it right. He turns then, bends down and picks up a beautiful bouquet of Tulips from beside the door. I'm lost. Truly, utterly lost in him.
"Jack , there beautiful, thank you, but I don't care about any flowers. I do, however, care that you made it home safely, even if you look like your going to drop any second. Come into the house I'll get you a beer, you can tell me all about your exploits in foreign lands..."
I take his hand in mine and lead him up the 3 steps to the door, he waits while I unlock the door and enter before he steps inside and closes the door behind us. Dropping my keys and my retrieved bag on the table by the phone. I turn to take his coat, never letting go of the Tulips, Jack heads into the kitchen for that promised beer, while I look for a vase. Dad always has beer in the refrigerator, he has even taken to letting me have one with him every once and awhile, usually when he gets home late, after being on a mission. Jack sits slowly, as I grab him a cold beer, open it, unconsciously wiping the top off before handing it over to a now smiling Jack.
"So Sam, are we going for Sundaes or what?"
My head snaps up and I can see the grin.... Ahhh the old "Jack O'Neill Trade Mark grin" It's been so long since I've seen that grin, I find myself grinning like a mad woman back at him, before I speak "Jack, your dead on your feet.. we can do that another day, since your back home... Ahh... you are going to be home for awhile aren't you?"
Jack's brow creases and I know I'm not going to like what he's about to say, so I brace myself for the worst. "Actually Sam, I leave again at 08:00 hours"
My turn. "Your kidding right.. but you just got here and you look like you haven't slept in weeks...." He can tell by my voice I'm not a happy camper, and I'm not, so why should I put on a brave front. I want to be able to hang out with him again, maybe take another ride in his Mustang, but mostly I want to be with him. He sighs, and reaches for my hand, curling his fingers around mine, gently giving them a squeeze, before releasing it.
"Sam, I just wanted to make sure your okay, doing well, Mom tells me you started University this past Sept. Wow, that must be exciting for you hey" I know what he's doing, he's trying to keep me from going over the bend.
Okay Jack, I'll play your little game. "Yes, Jack I have started University, if I thought I was a geek in High School, you'll never guess what I'm referred to at Uni....?"
Jack's turn to raise and eyebrow "Sam you weren't a geek in High School"
Sam laughs "Your kidding right Jack. I took an advance Physic's course in grade 12... Do you have any idea what that does to a woman social life? Do you Jack? Well let me tell you this much, in High School something like that can effectively end your social life, that is, if you even managed to get a social life in the first place, of course. So, now I'm referred to as "Carter the Keener" has a nice ring to it doesn't it." Sam shaking head, feeling embarrassed about her outburst, looking away, anywhere but at the man sitting across from her.
Jack's voice is soothing as he starts "Sam, so your smart, no brilliant... not everyone can be brilliant like yourself, most people react negatively to things they don't understand" Jack's tone changes as he continues "You just let me know which ones are giving you grief and I'm more than happy to take care of them for you"
Sam can't help but smile before commenting back "Yeah, Jack that would be great.... but your not going to be here in the morning. Are you!" before Jack can answer Sam continues "Anyway, I can handle those guys, I'm so busy with classes, and as far as my social life goes, I can't miss something I've never had, right!"
With that said Jack quickly polishes off his beer in two gulps, grins up at me, and says "Quick grab what you need we are going to Town!" Jack's enthusiasm was contagious as I grin back, asked if he was sure, with my own eyebrow raised. Grinning mischievously , he merely nodded. God I do love this man!
Sam's gone in a flash of color, to return 10 minutes later dressed in a slightly lived in pair of Levi's and a dark green sweater, wallet in hand, Sam was ready.
They had a wonderful evening, the drive was filled with laughter and music, Sam chose the radio station on the way down, Jack got his choice the way back. While in town, they walked everywhere occasionally Jack would grab her hand to slow her down, bringing her to a shop window to show her something new, usually some gadget he found fascinating.
They passed some students Sam knew from University, Sam smiled as she watched their mouths drop open, upon seeing Sam with such a good looking man, Sam felt great, Jack could be seen smiling contentedly as well. They had their Sundaes at the same shop they stopped at 3 years previously, on this very day. True to his word Jack paid for the ice cream this time round, and the pizza they stopped for only an hour ago. Sam checked her watch periodically over the last 2 hours, wondering how much longer Jack could stand on his feet. After begging off any more ice cream, Sam suggested they head back. Not wanting to cut there evening short, but knowing Jack needed some sleep, like a about 15 hours of sleep. Jack complied and waited for Sam to grab her wallet, and they were gone.
Sam invited Jack in when they got home, he only smiled and walked Sam to her door. "Sam, I would love nothing more than to come in and sit with you for awhile, but.... " he let his sentence hang in the air, waiting for Sam to finish his thought.
"yeah, I know Jack you really need to go and crash, I can't believe you leave again in the morning. I'm not going to see you again for awhile am I Jack?" Sam waited for his answer even though she knew what was coming.
"No, actually things seem to be escalating in the middle east so I'm heading over there for awhile, but I'll drop you card when I can, Okay so you'll know I'm still around"
With that said Jack did something Sam only wished would happen. He leaned in and kissed her. It didn't last long, only enough time for Sam to know what it felt like to have Jack's lips on hers. He pulled away, as if worried he had frightened her, but once he got a look into those big blue eyes he knew he had done the right thing. Sam was smiling back at him, maybe even blushing a bit. Hugging her closely for a moment before letting her go, and saying good night for the last time, in what could be a very long time. Jack sighed heavily when he got back to the car, absently brushing his index finger against his lips. Unbeknownst to Jack, Sam was doing the very same thing on the other side of her door.
***
Sam continued with her journal entry, recording everything she felt, how his lips were so soft and gentle against her own. She wrote long into the night, actually unable to stop herself, she knew if it didn't get it to paper now, she would miss something about there evening together and it would be lost forever. Sam finally put her pen down 3 hours after starting her entry. Sam prayed silently to God, to please keep Mark, Dad and 'My Jack' safe, until they return home.

Journal Entry 3426 March 7th, 1986
Today's my ninteenth Birthday, I'll celebrate this one alone, Mark, Dad and Jack are all off fighting some nutball who believes he should be the one the ruling the world. Sure I got a call from Dad telling me where to find my present, I guess he anticapated his absence. Figures just like Dad to be prepared. Jack, now he's another story, I got a card, and a small package that arrived yesterday with explicit instructions "Not to be opened until March 7th" well it's March 7th, and it sits there unopened on my desk.
I can't get passed the card however, It's in his familuar scrawl. It reads:' Sweet Sam...' always a good start. 'I've been thinking of you and that last night we shared, I didn't want to leave you, but knowing myself I had to leave then or I would have wanted to stay. Which wouldn't have been right. Not then. I'm not sure when I'll be back in the U.S. again, this might drag on for awhile still. I wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you and only wish I was there to celebrate with you.' Signed: 'Love Jack.' Yes it reads Love Jack...
Smiling, I reach over and grab the package, taking a small breath before ripping open the plain brown wrap. What I find inside, stops me dead. My mouth has dropped open, I realize, clamping it shut only moments later. I have to blink my eyes a few times, before my mind repeats, Yes, I'm actually seeing the most beautiful pair of gold earrings with a small emerald 'Tear' set in the middle of each. Their absolutely gorgeous. My eyes travel from Jack's beautiful gift to the card... the card still reads: "Love Jack"...

7 hours later...
I'm concentrating so hard on my latest physicist project, I don't hear the phone shilling behind me, I have no idea how longs it's been ringing, I quickly get up from the table, and hurry over to the phone, hoping the caller is still there. I catch it on the last ring. "Hello" speaking quickly, I wait for the caller to identify themselves. The connection is not good, I can hear the static on the line.
"Happy Birthday, How's my girl?"....
I'll know that voice anywhere, even though all that noise and static. 'His Girl... did he just call me "His Girl". Oh yes, I think he did. I can't pass this one up. My turn to speak. "I'm great now Jack, how is 'My Lieutenant' doing?" not waiting for Jack to respond I continue. "Jack I got your gift, and the card, I don't know what to say... Thank you so much, well that and their the most magnificent gift anyone has ever giving me. I'm wearing them now in fact. I wish you could see them on"
Jack's turn. "Sam, we have alot to celebrate when I get home, and I'm not 'Your Lieutenant' anymore... I'm officially 'Your Captain' now. I got my field promotion 2 days ago." Jack finishes.
I can tell he's smiling on his end, I can hear the excitement in his voice. "Jack, that's great news, I'm so happy for you, and we are definitely going to be celebrating when you get home. Do you have any idea when that might be?" Sam asked, almost scared of his response, knowing she had to ask anyway.
"Sam, honey I've got good news on that front as well...." Jack waits for a response from Sam, upon using the word 'Honey' and to his relief, she doesn't seem to mind. 'Okay Step One is done' He is grinning to himself now. He can almost picture the look of shock covering Sam's face, before continuing on "Sam.... you still there? He asks carefully.
"I... Jack.... Uhhhh Yes... Yes I'm still here... Jack did you just call me "honey"... I mean the connection is not great but I think I heard you call me 'Honey'?" Sam felt like a moron, I can't believe you just asked him that, thinking to herself.
Sam can hear Jack chuckle softly to himself before saying "Honey" emphasizing the word even more now. "Sam, Honey I sure did! I've been waiting for your 19th birthday to get that out... and now that I have well... I hope you don't mind." Jack's starting to think maybe this conversation should have taken place in person. He mentally kicks himself for his stupidity.
Sam's speaking now. "Mind Jack.... mind that you called me 'Honey'... Oh God Jack I wish you were here" Sam's voice is not more than a whisper now. Sam try's again. "Jack.... why did you wait until now...? " Sam not quite grasping the obvious at this point, but hey she's had to take in a lot since this phone call started.
Jack's turn to speak, he sounds nervous. "Honey, like I said in my note.... I wouldn't have been right, after all I'm 6 years older than you and.... well I wanted to wait until...." Jack left his remark hang.
"Sweetheart... are you telling me you waited until I was no longer 'Jail Bait'... " Sam was blushing now and had the most amusing smile on her face, her voice is lite and happy, almost lyrical.
Jack. "Sam, you called me sweetheart.... God I wish I was there now" A soft moan is heard from Jack's end.
Sam can't help herself, he has to know, now is the right time. It has to be. "Jack" Sam starts slowly, emotion present in her voice "About the card...." Jack tenses, hoping he didn't go to far, and waits for Sam's next comment. "I just wanted you to know.... I.... Ahhh" Just say it Sam you know you mean it, you have for years only for years it was her secret, but now is her chance to say it out loud even if it's only through a phone line, he should know. Sam starts again "Jack I love you too!"
There I said it, it's out there finally. Sam continues to blush, shifting now from foot to foot, biting at her bottom lips waiting for Jack. Waiting for Jack to say something... anything. The silence is deafening. The only sound heard is the intermittent static. Sam silently wishes this conversation was face to face, she needed to look into his eyes. Jack's eyes told her everything. Sam's drawn out of her own thoughts by Jack's voice.
"Sam, honey" Jack's voice sounds hushed now, whispering almost. Sam hears what she thinks is a another moan, before she hears Jack speak once again. "Sam, I'm coming home for Christmas. I want to be with you, I'll get a pass or I'm AWOL, either way I'm going to be home for the holidays. Will you wait for me!"
Sam can't believe what she's hearing, smiling for Jack only now, she says "Jack, I've Been waiting for you. I'll wait forever."
"Sam my love, forever will be exactly 291 days away. I love you Sweet Sam... I love you" his last words were almost lost though the static, before they were abruptly disconnected. Sighing, out of frustration more than anything, Sam stares at the receiver still clutched in her hand and screams almost without thought, shaking the receiver in front of her face, slowly she calms down enough to realize, 'Jack loves me... and now, he knows that I love him too.' Jack you better get home save, I've got a special gift for you this year. Feeling the color rise to her creeks once again, Sam smiles to herself, shakes her head and says out loud to no one is particular. Oh man, are you going to get it...

Sam's first year of university came and went, the other students seemed to come around after awhile, when they realized there was a very funny, sarcastic woman under all those brains and blue eyes. November 28th. was marked as usual, with Tulips and a card that sent Sam's heart racing. Jack had counted the days down till Dec. 23rd., in fact he had ripped out the calendar portion of each past month and included it with his card. Each month's day had been carefully crossed out with a black sharpie pen, with only one word carefully written, appearing on his calendar day after day. One single word. Sam. The month of November was enclosed as well, on the day of November 28th, Jack wrote: To Womanhood! T -25 days and counting. I love you, Jack.

Journal Entry 3618 Dated: December 23rd, 1986
I'm so nervous, no neurotic is a better word. Definitely neurotic. The day has finally come. I've made it. Jack's finally coming home. Today my life changes forever. I get to look into the eyes of the man I've loved for so long. The only man I've loved, and while he looks into my soul, I get to tell him how truly, deeply I love him, then I get to show him. Really show him. Nancy and I went shopping, to a 'store' she knows about in town, apparently she shops there all the time, of course she claims she buys it for her husband, but, quite frankly, I know she buys it just as much for herself, as for Brent, her husband. He's a good guy, I'm glad we have managed to stay friends since high school. Anyway, shopping... yes. I wonder how Jack feels about tiny little teddy's... I know how he feels about dark green so that one was easy. Nancy was kind enough to not to laugh when I asked her 'What Brent likes'..
All she said as "Sammie, you've got to wear it, what do you like" with that said, and after my customary blush, which will haunt me till I die I swear. I proceed to find what I thought looked 'sexy.' It's satin, it's dark green and it has lace. Very little of all three, but when I tried it on at home, in the privacy of my own room, I stood in front of my mirror and, well I blushed.. but that was expected, then I looked. Really looked.
When did I change to this woman who's reflecting back at me, my legs are long and trim, athletic almost, my hips have a nice shape to them, flat stomach, slim waist, and I must say rather 'perky' breasts. 'Hang on to that thought 'girls'. All the while, I'm thinking 'Jack, my love, you don't stand a chance.'
Okay Jack will be here in a few hours. I'll never be ready.

2 hours later...
Sam shifted nervously, biting on her lower lip, while Sam's dad Jacob watched, a small knowing smile spreading across his face before he speaks. "Sammie... you gotta relax, Jack's landed, he's here, just not quite "here" here.... " motioning with his hands to the small space between them.
Sam looks up into her fathers eyes and gives him a wide smile. "Dad, your piles of help..Thank...." the rest of her comment is lost, as she finally sees Jack for the first time.
Jack is scanning the crowd, and for a brief second his brown eyes pass hers, only to dart back and lock with blue ones. Sam is off in a micro second, Jack's bags hit the ground a second after that, throwing his arms wide and bracing himself for what he knows will be Sam, his love, hitting him at full out run. And he can't wait. Can't believe he made it back in one piece. Can't believe he gets to have Sam, his Sam in his arms once again.
Jacob watches, not moving from his spot, picking up his daughter bag where she dropped it, without a thought, he pulls the strap up over his shoulder let the bag hang, and continues to watch the scene unfolding in front of him. He knows his daughter has found a good man. He knows because Jacob has been secretly monitoring Jack's military career, like he does with his own son Mark. He even knows that during the past few years, Jack has never once gone on leave with the rest of the boys for a little sampling of the "Local Hospitality" shall we say. Now that is something Jacob can respect, having found true love once himself.
Still, Jacob made a mental note to have a little 'Talk' with Jack during his stay over the holiday's. By the looks of that kiss he is witnessing now, the sooner the better.
Sam collided with Jack, as expected, at full tilt. Jack was ready and closed his arms around her tightly, not wanting to let go. Ever. Sam could feel his breath on her neck, he was mumbling something against her skin, it tickled. Sam pulled back slightly, bringing her face inches from Jack's. Before a word was spoken, Sam felt Jack's hand circle her neck trailing up into her hair, she leaned into his lips, her own arms coming up to wrap around his back, pulling him closer.
The couple were completely oblivious to anybody else in the airport which, if there had been a head count, would probably include upwards of 200 people, after all it is Christmas. Some traveler watched as Jacob did, smiling to themselves, remembering there own loved ones, some looked away almost embarrassed by this display of love, some could even be heard murmuring word of love to the other they were with. It was a grand display. It was love.
Sam broke away long enough to look into Jack's beautiful brown eyes, and whisper "I love you" before Jack claimed her mouth again. His tongue hungry for Sam's own. They stood together shamelessly wrapped around each other kissing, moaning softly, as things escalated. Jack finally came up for air, looking into Sam's beautiful upturned face, her eyes still closed only to open slowly, staring directly into Jack's soul.
"I love you Sam.... God I've missed you" with that said Sam smiled sweetly, and pulled his head back down bringing there lips together again. This kiss was softer, gently, not like the primal kiss they just finished.
Pulling back slightly, but never losing eye contact, Sam's fingers had found there way to the back of Jack's neck. Running her nails over and through the short hairs, ever so slowly, Sam watches as Jack's eyes close and she hears a very soft moan escape his lips. Thinking to herself, I did that, I can elicit a moan so sweet by merely touching him... Oh Jack your in so much trouble.
That thought aside, Sam pressed herself against Jack once more kissing him quickly on the lips before saying "Jack, Honey, my dad is over there" nodding her head to the right "Do you see him, is he watching us?"
Jack takes a few moments scanning the large area before turning his attention back to Sam, with his 'Trade Mark' smile, leans in and say "Oh yes, my love... Dad's watching... and I think we may have gone overboard here cause nobody else seems to be moving around us... only looking at what we are going to do next.... Honey, what do you want to do next?" Jack left his comment open, waiting for me to say something.
To do something, I can only look into his eyes and tell the truth "Jack, what I want to do right now, we can't... at least not in the middle of a crowded airport 2 days before Christmas" I'm grinning up at what could be the first shocked expression I've ever scene on Jack's face.
He quickly covers up, but I've seen it, and I'm not embarrassed about my bluntness. I love Jack and he is the man I want to be with. Forever. Jack's grinning back at me now. "Sweet Sam.... My Sweet Sam...." he murmurs before kissing me gently on the lips.
After holding each other for what seemed like only seconds, but had actually been about 8 minutes, the other travelers seem to realize they were watching a very private moment, and gone about there own business of missing planes and fighting with ticket takers. Jack pulls Sam to his side, his left arm firmly around Sam's shoulder then quickly picks up his discarded bag, both happy and content, they make there way slowly over to a smiling if not slightly embarrassed General as he hands Sam's purse over to her. Out of respect to a higher ranking officer Jack salutes General Jacob Carter, then quickly extends his hand towards Jacob. Jacob, merely looks down, taking all the time in the world before looking back up again into Jack's face. Jacob smile's warmly, accepts Jack's offered hand and winks at his daughter at the same time.
Sam blushes and shakes her head. 'Father's'.
Jacob speaks first. "Jack, it's good to see you again, it's been a few years, your looking good. I heard all about your latest promotion to Captain congratulations, Son"
"Thank you Sir, it's great to be home again." Jack looks down at Sam, and without thinking gives her a quick kiss. Realizing what he's just done, Jack looks up quickly to see if he can gauge the General's reaction. To Jack's relief, Jacob merely cocks his head slightly and smiles.
Jacob looks over to his daughter and speaks quietly, "Sammie would you mind pulling the car up... I'm going to help Jack here with his bags"
Sam, to bright to miss a thing, sees Jack cringe slightly and has to smile... they both know what's coming, and I think Dad is looking forward to this. Sam turns to face her father before speaking. "Dad, you said you were going to play nice remember.... Don't terrify Jack just yet, okay he just got home" With that said Sam reached up and brushed her lips against Jack's, taking the proffered car keys and was gone.
"Son" Jacob starts "That is my only girl.... I've known you for a long time, over the years I've seen the way you two are with each other, I'm happy Sam is in love, but... and I want to make this very clear, 'Son'. If you ever hurt my Sammie intentionally of otherwise you will be dealing with me. Is that understood" The heavy emphasis on the word 'Son' did not go unnoticed by Jack.
In fact, nothing of this conversation went unnoticed by Jack. Jack stopped, stepped around so he would be looking directly into the General's eyes when he spoke. "Sir, I love your daughter, I have for quite some time now, and as far as the other thing goes.... I would sooner eat a bullet before ever hurting her."
Jacob took in the man before him, and smiled. "Jack, I do believe you mean that, oh and by the way I'll be holding you to that, Son." Jack relaxed a bit, knowing he just made it passed 'Step Two'.
Sam had the car up front and was waiting when Jack and her dad walked outside. Jack quickly came to Sam's side and she reached to grab his free hand and give it a squeeze, looking at him she silently apologized to him, for what she knew her father had just put him through. 'He's grinning' she thought... that's odd I figured dad would be doing his best "I'll kick your ass Captain" routine on the poor man. I make a mental note to ask Jack all about his "little talk" with dad.
Smiling back at Jack, I notice dad has his head buried in the truck trying to get everything to sit properly before closing it, I grab Jack by the collar and haul him over the drivers side, press him up against the door and kiss him deeply, wrapping my hands inside his coat around his back, feeling his chest pounding against my own. I rub ever so seductively against him. I can feel his hands on my shoulder as he pulls me gently away, quickly looking in the direction of the truck. "Sam, honey your going to get me killed" he whispers. I laugh at the look on his face, he's flushed, and I know that has nothing to do with dad.
The drive back home was interesting to say the least. Dad seemed to so busy
with the road, he barely commented on anything, leaving the conversation to Jack and myself. We talked about Mark coming home, we talked about Helen, and how if we find the time, maybe even run up to see her for a day or two during Jacks stay. My eyes light up at the mere mention. A road trip to see Jack's mom. This Christmas will be very special indeed. We talked about university, and Jack was relieved to hear I had made friends, and was no longer considered a freak or a geek for that matter. Just another student with a very high IQ. Very high.
Classes were done now until January 7th, when University starts up again. Jack seems happier upon hearing this news and squeezes my hand, bringing it up to his lips, turning it and placing delicate little kisses across the inside of my wrist. Ouuuhhh God that feels wonderful. One of Jack's eyebrow raises and he darts his eyes towards the driver seat, checking the rear view mirror as well for signs that the General may have heard. My turn to look at Jack with an eyebrow raised, as if to say 'What?'
Jack merely grins, leans towards me and whispers softly... "Sam, you just moaned" Oh my god... Now it's my turn to look guilty as I check the rear view mirror to see if that had gone unnoticed by Dad. Well if it didn't, dad is one hell of an actor, cause I saw no reaction at all. Maybe he is deeply engrossed in his driving after all. Thanking God silently. Sam smiled and winked at 'Her Captain' sitting next to her.
Arriving home safely, still holding Jack's hand in mine, I can feel his thumb moving slowly across the back of my hand almost absently. We gather up Jacks two bags and smiling at the man I love, I gently pull him towards the upstairs bedrooms. Jack looks more nervous than I have ever seen him appear before, I can't help but comment.
"Jack, sweetheart, I'm only going to show you were your sleeping... I'm not going to take advantage of you... " the last of my comment was said so softly I was sure he hadn't heard
Until I feel Jacks face against my hair, his lips against my ear, he's whispering "Honey, you can take advantage of me anytime"
I turn my head slightly to see his face before continuing "Jack, my love, I'm so glad your home". After getting Jack settled in Marks old room, we start for the hallway, I feel Jack's hand on my waist, as I turn to face him, I find myself lost in his dark brown eyes.
He speaks first. "Sam, where would your room be.... ?" He's grinning at me now.
"Hmmmm Jack, well mine would be that door right next to yours...."
"Can I see it.... I.. ahhh... I've been curious about that for sometime now" Jack says still smiling, I can tell he's nervous.
"Sure Jack, but give me a second will ya... I kinda left in a hurry this morning, I'm not sure what I have on my floor" Sam says rather conscious of that fact she was definitely blushing again, she could feel the heat against her cheeks.
"Sure Honey, I'll just wait here. Promise." Sam did a double take on Jack's last comment... thinking to herself 'I love this man.... but it was just the way he said 'promise' that makes me nervous' Smiling to herself more than anything Sam gave Jack a quick kiss and opened the door of her room.
Stepping inside, she was thankful for the few minutes she bought herself.... This place is a right off. Okay, first thing get all the underwear and bra's off the dresser tops, and the jeans and T-shirts off the floor... picking up a rather beaten pair of Levi's, she rolls them up and tosses them across the room to her laundry hamper, they managed to land inside this time. 'Yes, nothing but basket'... at the sound of chuckling behind her.
Sam turns to find Jack, smiling his sweetest smile at her, leaning against her open door frame. With hands on her hips, giving him a nasty look, but not quite pulling it off, a smile slowly spreading across her face, completely giving her away.
"Jack, you said you'd give me a few minutes, this place is a mess.... I was a little preoccupied with picking you up this morning that I never took the time to put my room back together... you really shouldn't be in here Jack..." as Sam makes her way over to where Jack is standing, she notices for the first time, Jack is holding something in his hand, Sam freezes. "Jack what is that in your hand...." Sam looks mortified 'Please God tell me that is not a pair of my panties.... please God'. Jack's turn to look nervous, but somehow still manages to grin back at her.
"Sam, I thought I'd help you tidy up...." Still grinning, at a now totally beat red Sam Carter, thinking to himself 'God I love this woman....' Jack is drawn out of this thoughts by Sam coming at him, and she is not happy, in fact she looks sick to her stomach.
Jack can't resist, he carefully extends his arm to its full length, above Sam's head leaving her panties dangling just out of arms reach. At this point Sam has to reach up on her tippy toes, half clawing her way up the side of Jack, trying to reach them, all the while Jack is smiling at her. He has his other hand wrapped around her waist now keeping her on the ground, that last grab she made was very close to achieving her goal of reclaiming her panties, besides Jack doesn't want this assault on his body to quite end yet, in fact everytime she rubs against him, he can feel himself reacting.
Jack's voice is almost a whisper now when he speaks. "Sam, you better stop all this rubbing against me honey... there could be trouble.... " Jack never got to finish his sentence as they both hear a throat been cleared behind them.
Turning they look into the smiling face of Jacob Carter. Jacob speaks. "Oh good Sam your getting Jack to help with laundry... That's very nice of you Jack" The look of pure shocked embarrassment is written on Sam's face and for that matter Jack's as well... He certainly didn't expect Jacob to say that upon finding him not only in her room, with his arms around his daughter but with her panties in his hand no less..... Now it's Jack's turn to look sick to his stomach. Jacob merely laughs, and exits the room, before throwing over his shoulder one last comment. "Jack, I think we need to have a longer talk...."
Leaving Jack and Sam standing there stunned. "Oh God, this can't be good Sam" Jack looks like he's going to be sick.
I have to laugh. "Jack, Honey.... you started this remember, can I have my panties back now please?" She winks at him as he hands them over. "Thank you". Sam continues "Jack, well since your here now anyway.... This is my room" spreading her arms wide and turning slowly, Jack hasn't even bothered to look around, his eyes haven't left Sam.
All Jack can manage at this point is a hushed whisper "Beautiful, Sam beautiful" Sam notices Jack is staring at her with a look she's not seen before, his eyes are smoldering... thinking to herself 'I could fall into those eyes forever'.
Sam's the first to speak. "Okay, enough show and tell... lets get down stairs and get something to eat, I'm starved, how about you Jack... Hungry? Sam knew she left the question open, and looking into Jack's face she could see the frustration deep in his eyes. He leans forward now, brushing his lips against hers.
"Honey, I haven't eaten in years..... I'm staved to."
Sam kissed him back before taking his hand in hers once again and leading him from her room.
Dinner went without a hitch, which is surprising since Jack decided to help with the dinner preparations, after watching what could only be described as a beginners attempt to dice tomato's, Sam and Jack agreed that perhaps he should concentrate on washing the vegetables instead of actually butchering them. If anything Jack was thorough, the vegetables came out sparkling, it was almost a shame to cook them after all that. They did anyway and Dinner was a great success. After the meal was completed, Jack kept sliding glances over to the General, he seemed to get more nervous as the evening progressed to the point that Sam had to lean over and whisper into his ear.
"Jack, relax your making me nervous... Dad was kidding about another 'Talk' I'm sure of it. That's just his way to let you know, we aren't alone." Sam squeezed his hand to reassure him. Jack entwined his fingers with Sam's own. Turning his head, he gave her a most beautiful smile. Thinking to herself.. 'He did it again... I'm lost'
After sharing coffee with Jack and Sam, Jacob excused himself from the room, remembering something he had to take care of. Telling his daughter he would be at the Officers Club hoisting a few beers with his men. He also said he would probably be late getting in, and we shouldn't wait up for him. 'Dad's ya gotta love them'. Jack walked him to the door, extended his hand once more for the General to shake, Sam couldn't hear what was spoken but she knew she could get it out of Jack later. Smiling to herself at that last thought. That's how Jack found her again in the living room, sitting there smiling, maybe even starting to blush a little, thinking to himself 'She has no idea how beautiful she looks when she is blushing' then his mind screamed back 'tell her' and he wastes no time doing just that.
"Sam, you look beautiful when you blush.... I love you" it was spoken in a hushed voice almost a whisper.
Sam looks up to see Jack standing a few feet away, smiling softly. "Jack, did Dad start in on you about ... well the room incident... tell me he didn't' say anything... Did he?"
Jack's smile breaks across his face now. "Sam, my sweet Sam... your Dad is great" My eyebrows raised at his last comment. "Okay, I got the 'Son, I'm leaving you alone with my daughter' speech, but I did deserve it, actually after what he witnessed in your room, I'm surprised I was allowed to stay for dinner.... " Laughing and recalling the scene in Sam's bedroom, and the feel of soft cotton of Sam's panties in his hand, brought a bright red glow to Jack's face. This did not go unnoticed by Sam. She couldn't help
herself.
"Jack, you look beautiful when you blush.... I love you!" This was the exact same thing Jack had said to Sam not 5 minutes ago. Jack's color deepened. Sam's smile widened.
At the same moment they both realized that this was the first time they had been alone since he got back. Really alone. Jack took a few short steps towards Sam as she stood up from the couch. Bringing her arms around Jack's neck, nuzzling the small crook at the base of his collarbone she whispered between lite kisses "Hmmm Jack, honey... what are we going to do now".
Jack knew what he wanted and was pretty sure what Sam wanted... unfortunately he also knew what the General wanted. That meant he would still have to wait, mind you he was good at waiting, he had, after all waited so long already. He spoke. "Honey, I'd like to just sit on the couch with you, feel you next to me, hold you and..."
Letting his last comment hang, Sam looked into his eyes before she spoke. "And what Jack....?"
"well, and this honey" He leaned in and captured Sam's lower lip between his teeth and tugged softly, eliciting a soft moan from Sam as she pulled him closer to her own body. After a few moments Jack pulled away gently and maneuvered them over to the couch again, pulling her down next to him in one easy motion.
They sat with Jack's arms around Sam, for what seemed like hours talking about the past months what each other was feeling, what each was going through not having the other with them. They talked long passed midnight, until Jack heard the sounds of steady breathing and soft mumbling coming from Sam. He looked down and saw she had drifted off to sleep. She looked so innocent, so small. Jack found himself grinning, before placing small kisses against her cheek. Jack had fallen off to sleep some time later, only to be waken by the sounds of keys in the front door. Not wanting to move and wake up his sleeping Sam, he waited until the General was in the living room before giving him the 'I've been a good boy' look. Jacob smiled at the sight that greeted him, thinking to himself 'I knew he was a smart man'.
Talking quietly so not to wake up Sam, Jacob said "Jack, you look beat, can you handle Sam, I assume your going to put her to bed and not leave her sleeping out here?"
Jack smiled warmly at the General. "Yes, Sir, I can handle Sam, you have a good evening Sir, I'll see you in the morning."
With that said Jack slid up of the couch with Sam carefully wrapped in his arms, making his way up the stairwell. Jack opened the door that led into Sam's room, smiling again at the scene that played out here only hours before. Sam is stirring in his arms as he sets her down, coming awake now, she realizes where they are, looking up quickly into the smiling face of Jack.
"Ahhh honey... why are we in my room"
Jack had to chuckle "Sam, we both feel asleep on the couch and your dad came home just now, he asked if I could handle taking you upstairs... of course I said it was no problem"
There is that 'Trade Mark" grin, Sam, now grinning back at the man she loves. "Hmmm does that entail tucking me too..." Sam lets her comment drift, waiting for Jack's reaction, he merely pulls her to his body and kisses her deeply before speaking himself.
"Actually, honey as much as I would love too... I better get out of here now or I'm going to want to stay... and I think the General downstairs might have something to say about that one... Don't you think?"
He's still smiling but I can tell he's as frustrated at this 'new' situation as I am. Without thinking I raise up on my toes and brush feather lite kisses over his lips. "Jack, your right I would hate to have Dad find you in here, he's liable to take you out back and I'm not sure there'd be alot of talking going on" I add softly "I'm sorry honey"
Jack tilts my head up once again and looks deeply into my eyes before speaking. "Honey you have nothing to be sorry about... I've waited so long for you already... I can wait awhile longer..." at Jack's last comment Sam looks at him with all the love in her heart and says
"Jack, my love..... I'm not sure how long I can wait, I love you so much.... and I want to be with you"
Jack can only groan softly before kissing her thoroughly once again. He whispers "Sweet Sam, I love you too!" Jack pulls away gently, not wanting to leave her like this, wanting nothing more than to crawl into that bed of hers and curl up with the woman he loves. Jack can only smile and kiss her softly one last time before turning and heading for the door. He's stopped by Sam's next words.
"Jack you don't get off this lucky again... " He turns to see the desire in Sam's eyes, the want, and he knows she means it.
"I love you honey, now get some sleep, I'll see you in the morning, Good night my sweet Sam" And he was gone.
***
Sleep was unsettled and fitful for both, more than aware the other was laying only a few meters away. Neither imagining the other sleeping. More like waiting. Waiting,...not a fun thing to do anytime. But this was so much worse. Sam couldn't sleep, she was too nervous. She needed to write.
Journal Entry 3819 Dated: Dec. 24th, 1986
Okay, It's 3:45 a.m. and I have a problem. Jack and I need to be alone. The problem lies with the fact that this is my 'Fathers' house. We need privacy. We need space. We need to get out of this house. So I need a plan. I should have had a plan. How can I be so stupid. Can I really check into a motel with Jack on Christmas eve.... Would Jack be game for a motel room? I bet I could talk him into it.
Smiling devilishly to herself, Sam continued writing. Stopping periodically for water. She may need a bathroom break soon, if she has any more. Feeling the already present pangs of a full bladder, Sam checked her watch, before making sure enough time had elapsed and that Jack would be safely asleep. She was pretty sure she could count on herself, and not stop at Jack's door, and she was sure she wouldn't open the door take a peek inside just to make sure he was really here. No. Sam could trust herself that much. Besides now, she really had to pee. Checking her reflection in the mirror, she thought twice about a robe, then discarded the idea heading for the door. 'Jack's too tried from his long flight, he has got to be completely dead to the world by now' with that thought, Sam headed towards the door wearing only her cotton boxers and a loose fitting T-shirt that read "Go Air Force" a gift, well maybe not quite a "gift", Sam had relieved her father of it about a year ago. It was starting to show its age. Sam liked it, it was comfortable and it reminded her of Jack. Where he was at that very moment. What he was doing. If he was safe. She always knew her mind would wander there, so she took comfort in this old battered T-shirt. She felt safe in it.
Sam quietly opened her door and padded softly to the bathroom which was down the hall and to the right of her room. Taking extra care in not waking Jack, 'God forbid Jack sees me in my current garb. No, if Jack is going to see me at 4:30 in the morning he was going to see me in that 'Sexy' new Teddy I bought just for him'. So engrossed in her own thoughts, she never heard the footsteps advancing, coming from in front of her. As Sam rounded the corner she ran straight into the chest of a very sleepy Jack.
Jack's reflexes been what they where, caught her before she could even open her mouth. Stunned she looked up into the haunted yet, smiling eyes of Jack O'Neill. Taking a moment to right her. Jack stepped back, an arms length, never leaving go of her shoulders. Sam knew what was coming. She had already started to blush and could feel the deep red glow warming her cheeks as Jack's eyes started to roam from the tops of her bare feet, working there way slowly, methodically up her long slim bare legs. His left eyebrow raised, as did the sides of his mouth, curling into a sexy smile, when his eyes meet the bottom of Sam's plaid boxers, which were about a inch longer than her T-shirt, stopping just about three quarters of the way up her leg. Sam not to be out done by Jack, regained her composure and with standing only a foot away from Jack, she took in what she thought was the most amazing body she had ever seen.
Clad only in black running shorts and a white T-shirt that had obviously had it's sleeves ripped off at one point. It was a glorious sight. Sam's face must have registered the wonder, because it didn't take Jack long to lean in closer and whisper to Sam. "I know, I like what I see... I was just wondering if you did....?" Jack left his sentence fall away, his breath coming in short quick intervals.
Sam could feel his warm breath against her cheeks. She had to say something. Anything. She couldn't think. This was not good. "Jack.... I..... " Okay, a bad start. Concentrate Sam she chastised herself, before another attempt at coherent statement. Sam gave Jack a bright beautiful smile, gathering her thoughts before speaking again. "Jack, funny meeting you here..." glancing around the hallway, her eyes slowly coming to rested back on Jack. Sam spoke again, more seriously this time "How come your not sleeping all the jet lag off, you must be exhausted honey" Without thinking Sam raised her hand to gently cup, then brush Jack's smiling cheek with the fingers of her right hand. Jack leaned into her hand. Sam smiled again.
Looking into the dark eyes of Jack O'Neill was almost hypnotic. Jack whispered softly, intent on not waking the General sleeping below. "Sam, I've been tossing for the last few hours, I'm so tired I can barely stand up, yet when I try to actually sleep. I can't. It must be the hype of been home, finally getting to see you again." He paused for effect, then continued. "Mind you... this look..." Nodding towards her naked legs and funny shorts. "I never really expected this look" Jack was grinning now, as Sam went a deep red once again.
"Jack, you better be careful or I won't show you the outfit you were supposed to see me in" Sam said as quietly as possible and yet still manage to giggle a bit.
"Hey, no giggling..." Jack whispered, all Sam could do was lift her smiling face to Jack's and kiss him softly.
Sam whispered, her face only inches from Jack's own. "Ill make you a deal my love.... Give me the bathroom for two minutes and I'll sit with you until you fall asleep. Is that a deal Jack?"
Jack's face lite up at the mere prospect of having Sam in his room. Alone. Sam understanding his reaction completely, smiled a very sweet if not slightly worried grin at Jack. "Actually I want to talk to you anyway Jack, it might be better if we talked in there" pointing to Mark's old room. "That way were sure not to wake Dad." I'll be there in a few minutes okay?"
Sam waited for Jack to comment, all he did was wag his eyebrows at her twice and kiss her quickly before whispering "I'll be waiting" He turned and headed back down the way she had just come. Sam took a moment to shake her head and quickly promise herself 'Nothing was going to happen in there... even if I wanted it too.
She certainly did want it too happen, but not in her father house. She couldn't quite wrap her head around that one. I hope Jack understands. Sam quickly headed to the bathroom for her much needed pee break.
Jack heard a soft knock at the door before Sam poked her head in, then slowly entered the room. She was wearing what he had seen her in moments ago, in the hall. He was glad she hadn't pulled a robe on and covered up those beautiful long lovely legs. Smiling up at her he whispered "Hello" Sam looked uneasy.
She needed to get this portion out the way as soon as possible, and wasted no time crossing the room then sat, rather consciously on the edge of the bed. Jack was tucked in with his arms on top of the covers. Sam hadn't looked up at Jack yet. Jack leaned over and gently grasped her chin in his left hand and turned her head towards him. "Sam, honey what's the matter, you've got something on your mind, please tell me, I can help. Trust me Sam"
Sam took a long breath before starting to talk. "Jack, I need to tell you something, but more important I need you to understand. "Sam started slowly, looking at Jack, never losing eye contact. She continued. "I love you very much Jack and I meant what I said to you when you left my room earlier tonight... I want to be with you, but we need... Ahhh " looking around the room now, obviously embarrassed about having to have this particular conversation. Sam stumbled onward. "What I mean Jack.... is we have to come up with an alternate place... I mean... something private... " Sam groaned inwardly, as she knew this conversation was not going as well, for one thing Jack wasn't speaking anymore. That can't be good. Sam was brought out of her thoughts by Jack stirring beside her.
"Sam.... " It was a mere breath, yet he managed to make it sound like her name. Jack continued. "Honey, I know what your trying to say, and I understand, this is your fathers home, you grow up here. Sam, is that why you look like you haven't slept since I brought you too your room." Jack kissed Sam gently before pulling back and simply said with all the confidence in the world. "Sam, you don't have to worry. I have a Plan" The words barely left Jack's lips when Sam's face lite up with the most amazing grin. She leaned in quickly, grabbing his tattered T-shirt, pulling him closer to her. Sam kissed him hard, full on the lips. When she pulled away, she gave Jack a very warm, very relieved filled smile.
All Sam could do was whisper "I love You".
Jack looked relieved himself, he of course thought it was something worse. Much worse. Smiling warmly at Sam, he blinked a few times, whispered "I love you too" and quickly stifled a yawn.
Sam was watching Jack, as he started to show the effects of this very long day. Sam spoke in hushed tones "Jack, you have to lie back now and close your eyes, Ill be here until you fall asleep" Sam was just starting to get up from the bed, when Jack gently reached for her, taking in the soft feel of her skin as he slid his fingers down her arm lightly, towards her hand.
"Sam, curl up with me... please, I just want to hold you, trust me, nothing
will happen, not tonight" He smiled up at Sam on his last comment, she couldn't resist, he was way to charming with that 'Trust me' line. Only Sam knew it wasn't a line. Jack said nothing would happen, then nothing would. Sam only smiled back, and with a nod of her head, got Jack to slide over a bit so she could have the end. When Jack started to lift the sheets, offering only the warmth of the covers, She stopped in mid step.
Decided at that point, she wasn't so sure about herself. She looked into Jack's eyes and merely shook her head before speaking softly "Ahhh Jack... I think I'll just stay on top of the covers and before you start with your 'Trust me' line honey" She said with laughter in her voice "It's not so much you I'm worried about here" Sam knew her face was betraying her once again, she could feel the color raise to her cheeks.
Jack couldn't help but chuckle himself at this incredible woman before him. "Sam, honey you can do whatever feels right, as long as I get to feel you in my arms.... now come here" Jack had laid the sheets back down so Sam could slid over.
Once Sam got settled, laying now on her right side, spooned in front of Jack. She felt his left arm coming to rest on her waist, slowly moving its way across her flat belly, gently pulling her closer to him. Not really sure what do to with her own hands, she reached over with her right arm and entwined her fingers with Jack's, leaving her left hand to curl under the pillow she now shared with Jack.
Sam whispered "Good night".
Followed shortly by Jacks' own murmuring of "Night"
'Hmmm this is wonderful, I could definitely get used to this on a regular basis' Sam thought to herself. Smiling again, she peeked over her shoulder to find her man drifting quietly off to sleep. She snuggled a little closer and closed her own eyes, thinking 'I'm only going to close them for a minute, then I'll get up and go to my own room....' That was the last coherent thought Sam had before succumbing completely to her own well needed sleep.

4 1/2 hours later...
That is how Jacob Carter found his daughter the next morning. Wrapped securely in Jack's arms, both of them to tired to even hear his calls of breakfast, not to mention the opening of the door itself . Jacob cleared his throat a second time before finally giving in and with the signs of a smile tugging at the corners of his lips he spoke. "Samantha!" Jacob raised he voice loud enough to wake the sleeping couple.
Sam all but jumped out of Jack's arms, taking only seconds to realize exactly where she was and who she was with. Stealing a quick glance at Jack, before facing her father, Sam spoke quickly. "Dad... this probably doesn't look good, but really....I... Ahhh... we can explain"
Looking over at Jack now, trying to gauge his reaction. 'Okay, he looks likes he is about to be sick, no help there' Sam looked quickly back at her father, who was now losing his battle not to grin.
In fact, he laughed out loud at the look to terror on his daughters face, not to mention Jack's. Holding up his hands Jacob looked from Sam's face to Jack's, shaking his head, he merely said "Breakfast is almost ready, are you guys coming down, it's after 9:00 a.m." Still smiling Jacob waved over his shoulder and walking slowly out of the door he said "You have 10 minutes".
Leaving Sam standing in her middle of the room in boxers and T-shirt and Jack, now a ghastly shade of white, still lying in the bed. Jack groaned. Sam started to laugh. She wasn't expecting to be laughing at this exact moment, but found she really couldn't help herself. Looking at Jack with what could only be described as wonderment, she raised her arms and shrugged her shoulders before moving back towards the bed where Jack was. Sitting at the edge, Sam leaned over to kiss Jack good morning.
"Sam, your father is not going to let that slide... no way!" Jack said after pulling away slightly, waiting for Sam to confirm his worst thought.
"Jack, honey I think Dad already let that one slide. Didn't you see the look on his face, he was happy Jack, not mad or insane with rage, actually he was nothing like I thought he would be" Sam laughed again. Smiling back at Jack, she slowly lowered herself back down, lying once again in Jack's warm embrace.
Gently, Jack placed soft wet kisses on the back of Sam's neck line, eliciting a small moan from her, speaking softly now with Jacks lips barely grazing her skin. "Sam, we have to get going or 'Dad' is going to come looking for us again..."
Leaving his comment for Sam to finish "Mmmmm your probably right" She murmured, still not making any kind of effort to get up.
After what could have only been 2 minutes in that position, Sam shot straight up in bed, surprising Jack a bit in the process, Sam turned to Jack and whispered "Hey, you never did tell me your Plan?"
Jack could see the love Sam held for him in her eyes, he could also see the excitement there as well. He knew his eyes held that same. "Sam, Honey your going to have to wait..." Jack saw Sam's smile fade slightly before he spoke again. This time he reached his hand up to touch her face before he continued "Don't worry honey, it won't be long now"
After leaving Jack alone once again in his room, Sam headed to her own bedroom. She entered and closed the door firmly behind her, heading to her small desk, she picked up her Journal, re-read the last line, smiling to herself she picked up the pen and made one simple entry. It read: My Jack has a plan.
She closed the Journal, grabbed her robe and towel and headed for a quick shower. 10 minutes later she was downstairs rounding the corner to the kitchen, she could already hear Jack and her father talking quietly. Entering the room, she scanned the smiling faces looking at her. She smiled sweetly to her father, came over and kissed his cheek, before whispering "Thank you".
Jacob raised an eyebrow and smiled at his daughter. Jack, was beaming once again, he seemed relaxed and not uncomfortable at all, considering the situation my father found us in only 15 minutes previous. Things looked good. Yes, very good. Sam walked over to where Jack was sitting at the table, ran her hands across the expanse of his shoulder, before leaning in for a quick kiss on the lips.
Breakfast came with all the trimmings. The maple syrup, from a place in Manitoba, Canada. The bacon and eggs were farm fresh as was the assorted jam's. The latter coming from the farmer's wife. The bacon and eggs were cooked to perfection. Dad could always cook up a storm. They ate in relative silence, punctuated by the occasional comment to the great cook. After the meal was completed and everyone helped clean the table away.
Jacob asked the first question. "So, kids.... what are your plans today? Last minute shopping perhaps?"
Jack has the widest grin on his face before he speaks. "Sir, I'm definitely going to complete my Christmas shopping today, and them I have something special planned for leter tonight, That is Sir, if you don't already have plans for Sam" Jack looked directly at Sam while he spoke, only now turning his head towards her father, waiting for his answer.
"No, actually Sam. knows I usually get together with some old boys around the base on Christmas eve. I'm sure she'll be much better off with you Son, besides she hates it when we smoke cigars in the house"
At his last comment Sam looks at her father and said "Dad, tell me your going to puff stogee's all night... remember last year Dad... you came home green. No matter what you say it was not the pickled eggs! It was those cheap cigars Harry always claims come from Cuba, they never are but you boys keep smoking them" Sam is smiling at her father as
he feigns disappointment at her last words. "Sammie, those cigars do come from Cuba, Harry wouldn't do that to us.... " Now Jacob is smiling as well, grinning in fact cause he knows his daughter is right. She usually is. Jacob speaks again. "Okay I've got piles of stuff to do before the end of this day, that is if you wanted a nice Christmas Sammie?" Looking at Sam her eyes locked with Jack's. He started to chuckle, bringing Sam out of her thoughts.
"Sorry, Dad, oh yes Christmas, Dad I'm already having the best Christmas ever" With that she looked over to a very happy Jack O'Neill. Jacob simply wished them a happy day and headed for the door, with a quick wave, and jacket in hand, and he was gone.
The two stared at each other for what seemed like 10 minutes before Jack reached over to take her right hand in his. "Honey, are you okay with heading to the mall, I've got a few things I've still got to pick up?"
Jack now waiting for her reply. Smiling, Sam said. "Jack, where ever your going is fine with me, but you may want to shower first... You've got the cutest little tuff of hair that will not stay down" Sam reached up and attempted to pat the tuff back into place.
She giggled and for the second time in less than 6 hours Jack said "Hey, no giggling" which of course only set her off on another giggling fit. Jack slowly got up from the table and covers the space between them in two strides. "Sam, I'll be 5 minutes, unless you wanted to wash my back that is..... ?"
Sam blushed a deep red, not able to speak, she merely shook her head and slowly answered "No, I don't think so honey... you see I actually need to get to the mall as well, and well if we start...." Sam blush was in full rage at this point but she managed to smile slyly at him and wag her own eyebrows. Jack, hugging her for a moment, before setting off towards the upstairs bathroom for his shower, smiling to himself, just happy to be here.

3 1/2 hours later....
Jack was slumped against Sam on the bench at the mall, both had more parcels than they expected. Jack got up and stood in front of Sam, extends his left hand for her to take, before kissing her quickly and softly speaking into her ear, he asked. "Are you ready for some down time honey? I've got something to show you, it's not far.... come on" He is tugging her in the direction of the car parkade.
Sam goes willingly with a shy smile on her face. Wondering to herself what he's up to now. "Jack what are you up too... ?"
Jack only looks over at her smiling face and said "You'll see, and you won't be disappointed"
Traffic was a bear, but that was expected it being Christmas Eve and all. The mid day sun was bright over head as they drove the 20 minutes outside of town, in the opposite direction of the base. Jack pulled that car into a long driveway, trees big and beautiful obscured her view, not until Jack pulled past the open gate did she finally see what laid beyond. Sam's breath caught in her throat. It was magnificent, absolutely magnificent.
The building set off the main gate was huge, glorious in fact, she had never seen a home so beautiful, she assumed it was a home and not a hotel. Startled at her last thought she looked over to Jack in the drivers seat before speaking "Jack, is this a home or a hotel... " letting her last thought hanging in the air hoping he would pick up where she left off.
He did. "Sam, this is a home... It belongs to one of the Colonels stationed at the base with me. He found out I was coming here and asked if I could check the place out for him, you know make sure it's still standing..." Jack takes one more look at the massive home in front of him and lets out a small laugh before continuing with his thoughts "Yeah, like this place is going to fall down around itself.... " Smiling at Sam now, he said. "Okay lets go check this place out... What do you say?" Sam only nodded yes, clasping her hand tightly in Jack's as they walked up the 6 large steps to the main door.
Jack, using the keys the Colonel gave him, quickly entered the main entrance and went to the alarm panel, to disengage the system with the code the Colonel had supplied him before he left. Sam waited at the door, unsure whether to enter or not. Jack looked back and waved her inside. Sam closed the door, while Jack completed entering the code into the security pad. The system beeped as was expected and Jack turned to Sam with that 'Trademark' smile, kissing Sam quickly, before speaking again he said "Safe and sound, Sam lets see what the Colonel's got in here.... " Jack grabbed Sam's hand with a devilish grin on his face, and headed towards the main hallway.
***
40 minutes later..
Sam looked up at Jack in awe, as they entered the last room in the house. What she will remember most about this house was the way the air smelled at that exact moment, there in front of her was an amazingly large indoor swimming pool. Sam walked into the room leaving Jack standing in the doorway, watching her. Watching her every move, the way she touched certain things, liked the feel of the tile on the walls, her fingers gently stoking it, she slowly moved inward coming close to the edge of the deep end, she turned towards Jack. "Jack, this is amazing... did you know he had a pool...?"
Sam was smiling brightly at Jack, he had the most incredible grin shinning back at her. "Sam, that's not the best part of this place.... I've saved the best for last, come on" he extended his hand once again to Sam, and she took it eagerly, and happily followed him out of the room.
After carefully resetting the alarm system, and locking the house up tight, Jack, with his arm now around Sam's shoulder walked down the steps, towards a path that seems to wind its way around the main building.
Looking up at Jack, smiling and perhaps blushing a bit asks "Jack, what are you up too..."
"You'll see, we should be coming up on it any second now" as they rounded the path which opened up, just passed the tree line, sat the guest cottage. 'Yeah, just gotta know a house that big has a guest cottage. ' Sam thought to herself...
Hugging Jack tighter as they neared the smaller building, Jack could feel Sam shiver. "Sam, your cold, lets get in quick, let me get the keys. While Jack was trying very hard to find the correct key, there was the distinct 'click' of the lock. "Found it, come on in Sam, it's warm. The Colonel said he would have the maid leave a care package here for me, before she left on her holiday, in case I needed to stay..." Jack went a deep red, not finishing his train of thought. Sam noticed immediately, she had, of course, been watching his face the whole time he worked on getting them inside. Smiling at him.
"Ah what were you saying Jack... I didn't quite hear the end of that one..." Laughing now at the look on Jack's face, a lovely shade of pink and a grin to die for. Sam quickly kissed him and raised an eyebrow waiting for some kind of response from him. Jack spoke seconds later. He was still smiling. However, there was something else in his eyes. They were smoldering, the deep brown had become darker somehow, more beautiful than she had every seen. And she had looked into his eyes enough times to notice something new. This was definitely new.
"Honey, the Colonel heard about why I was so rushed to get back home and when he found out your father was a General, well... I guess he figured I might not be able to behave myself" Jack was going deep red again, he knew it but he continued anyway. "So, he offered the
keys to the guest house. Said everything I would need would be here"
Sam hugged Jack a little tighter, a little longer before speaking herself. "Jack, Thank the Colonel for me please!" Sam pulled back from the hug long enough to brush her lips against Jack's. She let her tongue trace the edges, hearing a small moan escape Jack's mouth she deepened the kiss by slipping her tongue passed Jack's soft lips.
Moaning herself, now that Jack had started his own lip assault on her. Moving from her mouth, to her throat, down to the collarbone. Sam looked through blurred eyes as she heard Jack speak softly "Sam, I love you..." in between soft kiss's on her neck. Her eyes closed slowly as she moved her head back farther, exposing more skin to Jack's onslaught. Sam moaned more than spoke Jack's name as he slowly worked his way back up to her face, looking into Sam's blue eyes he quietly asked "Sam, Honey... are you sure you want this to happen... I mean what's going to happen if we continue like this...."
Jack waiting for a sign from Sam, he doesn't have to wait long, Sam takes Jack's face in her hands, looks deep within his soul and says "Jack, you couldn't stop me if you tried. I love you so much" She then proceeded to kiss Jack back in the same fashion he had done to her. She started with his collar bone, slowly now, using both her tongue and her moistened lips, Sam worked her way up his throat, stopping only briefly, to run her tongue over Jack's adam apple. Jack moaned louder, as Sam finally kissed him full once more on his lips.
They were completely wrapped around each other when they realized they were way over dressed. Jack pulled Sam away slowly not wanting to lose the feel of her against his body, but knowing he needed to touch her ... touch her skin.He moved his hands carefully up to the collar of Sam's jacket and started to bring the zipper downward , Sam reached for Jack's zipper a second later. There eyes never leaving each others. Jack leaned into Sam, bring his lips close to her, kissing her gently, while he slipped her jacket off and let it slid to the floor, Jack's following only seconds later.
The undressing process was slow and methodical, piece by piece, until there was only Sam and Jack, standing before each other, less than a foot apart. Jack spoke first. "Sam, your beautiful.... "His voice cracking with emotion.
"Jack I love you, I've never loved anyone else in my life. Make love to me Jack. I need you."
That was all Jack needed to hear. Actually he was sold on the whole 'I love you part' but he let her finish anyway. Smiling gently at Sam, Jack reached for her hand and led her into the bedroom, which as promised by the Col., was already for them. The maid had pulled back the feather comforter exposing the warm flannel sheets, to the left was a small night stand and two crystal champagne flutes with a note attached that read: It's in the fridge. Enjoy and Merry Christmas. Signed the Colonel. The matches were next to the glasses as Jack slowly struck one and lite the large candle to the right basking the room in a warm glow.
Sam reached for Jack as they slowly lowered themselves onto the bed, they were partial entwined , rubbing gently against each other, Sam could feel Jack's arousal then spreading her legs slightly to accommodate him, slowly they maneuvered so that Jack was completely covering her body. Feeling his full weight on her, Sam smiled up at the man she loved and kissed him softly before whispering "Oh God Jack, I've waited so long to be with you... I love you"
They explored each other with there lips first, the hands and fingers soon followed Jack broke away, to Sam's surprise and slight disappointment, only to feel Jack slowly kissing his way down toward her belly, pausing to torture her nipples, taking one in and gently biting, then suckling it, then moving on to the other. Sam's soft moans were like sweet music to Jack's ears, as he worked passed her belly now, Sam's hands were in Jack's hair and every few seconds Jack would steal a look into her eyes, seeing the desire, the want, deep within, knowing that this was right for both of them. He continued.
Sam had never in her life experience the sensation Jack was now inflicting on her. She could only moan his name louder, pleading with him not to stop. With Sam's legs wrapped over his shoulders, his head buried deep between her legs, Jack continued his frontal attack on Sam. He could feel her buck towards him and knew she would be close. Jack slid a finger gently inside Sam while she thrust her hips upward, the other hand wrapped around her thigh holding her in place, while his tongue flicked again, and again, never leaving her clitoris, which was now swollen to a small bulb. She was almost ready for him. he slid another finger inside, careful not to hurt or scare her, looking up at her thrashing body Jack couldn't wait any longer. He had to have her, had to bury himself in her. Had to show her how much he loved her. Pulling away slowly as Sam thrashing subsided, Jack reached over to the night stand and carefully lifted a package to the light. He wanted to make sure he didn't damage the contents before it could be used. Sam, slowly recovering from Jack's sweet torture realized what Jack was doing. She leaned over him, her nipples still hard, brushing the side of his arm as she reached for the condom.
"Jack let me, lay back honey" was all she said and Jack obliged. Stealing a quick glance, meeting Jack's eyes, before smiling shyly, she slowly lower her mouth onto Jack's already hard throbbing cock. Not one hundred percent sure of this procedure, she figured Jack would let her know if she wasn't doing this right. She slowly moved her lips down the length of his shaft, drawing back up slowly, flicking her tongue against the tip, and repeating the process again, until she found the perfect pace.
Sam could hear Jack as he moaned her name, she could feel his hands in her hair guiding her. She could see his powerful leg muscle clinching and twitching spasmodically. She heard him when he moaned softly "Yes Sam... Yes... My Sam... " before feeling his hands on her shoulders, gently pulling her away. "Sam" Jack's voice was husky when he spoke. Taking the condom from her once again, Jack quickly but expertly slid the condom on holding the tip closed and slowly rolling the rest down the length of his shaft "Come here" is all he said as Sam laid back down, opening her arms for Jack, welcoming his body into her own. Sam opened her legs wider, as she felt Jack's hard erection against her inner thigh. Sam was very wet, as she felt Jack slid his cock from her clitoris to the base of her opening, Jack did this several times before looking directly into Sam's eyes taking in her beautiful face, and with one fluid stroke Jack O'Neill was deep inside Sam Carter.
He had been the first. He had no doubt of that. He watched the look on Sam's face as pain registered first then quickly replaced by a small smile, as he moved slowly inside her, not quite ready to begin thrusting, he wanted to make sure Sam was okay, that she really wanted this. Sam wrapped her legs tighter around Jack's waist and started to match his movements, slow at first then while kissing her deeply Jack pulled almost all the way out before thrusting back into her, Sam's eyes opened wide and stared into those of Jack's.
"Oh Jack.... " she moaned, her eyes never leaving his. Jack pace never faltered, soon Sam found her rhythm and was matching Jack thrust for thrust. Jack could feel the way Sam's inner musles contracted while he stroked deeper, and deeper each time. The pace was intense, soon both where sweat covered.
They moaned uncontrollable now, with Jack whispering "Sam, sweet Sam... "
And Sam moaning "Jack... yes..... Don't stop..." between quick breathes.
Oh yeah "God" was mentioned a few times too.
Sam could feel Jack's breath coming in tight controlled intervals, she knew he was close, she wanted to explode with him, to share with him. She bucked upwards, towards Jack and tightened her inner musles once, twice and that was all it took for Jack to finally release, he pulled out one last time and quickly slammed back into Sam. He could feel her tense then, felt her own release just as he himself had done.
Whispering into her ear, "Sam... my sweet Sam.. I love you...." the last part came out in a hushed breath as Jack tried to regain his breathing. Sliding a hand up to Sam's face, he kissed her gently, before speaking "Sam, honey are you okay... I'm sorry if I hurt you..."
Sam stopped Jack from any further comment when she placed her lips against Jack's and softly murmured "Jack you didn't hurt me...I've never felt anything like that before in my life.... I love you!" And she kissed him again. It wasn't long before the couple had drifted off to sleep, safe in each others arms. Sam's last thought was of recording this day in her Journal once she got home, before letting sleep take her.
Journal Entry 3620 Dated: December 24th, 1986
Jack had plan and we executed it beautifully.
Sam started her Journal entry almost immediately upon reaching her room after parting with Jack at her bedroom door. She wanted nothing more than to take him into her room, lock the door securely behind them and make love all over again, thinking back to the hours they had just spent in each others arms. The way he made her feel. The things he did to her, with his lips, his tongue and finally himself. Sam wrote long into the night. She wrote everything as she remembered it. She would never forgot this day. Ever.

Timeline Dated: August 23rd 1999
Major Samantha Carter closed the cover on the Journal she found in "Doctor Carter's" room. The one she had asked Carter to get, before she fell asleep, after everyone left. Sam was sitting quietly next to the bed of the woman she shared the same face with, the same voice with.
Unfortunately that's where the similarity ends. Major Carter had never shared what she secretly envied most about the woman lying, asleep in the hospital bed a foot away from her. She never experienced Jack the way this 'Samantha' had. Sam felt guilty about reading her private Journal entries that spanned from Nov. 28th 1982 to Christmas Eve 1986. There were no other entries in her Journal, even though there were several pages left. Sam found that odd and if "Doctor Carter" wasn't too pissed after she found out the Major had read her very private thoughts maybe she'd even get to ask her about them.
Sam thought to herself 'Forks in the road, yeah I'll say we've taken different paths all right" That explains alot about the way she looks at 'My Jack'. No. 'My Colonel' her minds corrects. "Right My Colonel." Without realizing it, Sam had spoken the last part out loud, what's even worse is there was a male voice that replied back.
"Your Colonel"
Sam was still, she didn't want to look up knowing, without a doubt who would be standing there if she did. Colonel Jack O'Neill. He came into the room and stood before Sam, forcing her too look up into his dark smiling eyes.
"Sir" Sam started, then looked away quickly, feeling a blush spreading across her cheeks. Jack waited and watched as Sam regain her composure. He was smiling at her now. Instead of saying anything else, he only offered his hand and pulled Sam upright, leading her away from the sleeping 'Doctor Carter'.
Getting just passed the medical lab doors and far enough away from the prying ears of the guards, Jack leaned in and asked "So, you've been in there a long time, how is she doing... she looks to be resting comfortably"
Sam looked into the Colonel eyes, smiled softly and started. "Sir, she is messed up, we have to come up with something quick, she can't stay here much longer before the effects of Entropic Cascade Failure leaves her permanently damaged. I for one can't watch that happen, Sir."
Jack looking closely at Carter now, noticed for the first time the black bags under her eyes. "Sam, when was the last time you slept...? No, don't answer that... I can tell already your way overdue. Come on I'll walk you to your quarters."
Sam attempted to protest. "Sir really..."
Jack stopped her by saying "Carter, does this have to be an order...? " raising one eyebrow he waited for Sam to acknowledge he was right.
Sam simply mumbled "No, Sir" shrugged her shoulders and started walking in the direction of her quarters, Jack walking quietly beside her.
"So you were in there a long time... what were you doing?" Jack asked softly.
"Actually Sir" Sam looked over at the Colonel to gauge his reaction "I was reading her Journal from when she was a young woman. I'm surprised at how very different our lives are... I mean I just read all about the first time she became a wom...." realizing this was something she should not be talking about with 'Jack' of all people, she clamped her mouth shut. O'Neill wouldn't have any of it.
"Carter, you have to finish that one.... I think it was just getting good... Right?"
The Colonel always had a way of making me smile, if not laughing out right. Sam thought, shaking her head, she said "Sorry Sir, that information is need to know ... and your not in need" Grinning up at her Commanding Officer Sam Carter felt good, felt relaxed, probably for the first time since the other "Samantha Carter" arrived.
Moments later they had arrived at Carter's door, Colonel O'Neill with his hands in his pockets, asked one more time "Are you sure your okay with this whole 'twin' thing... I mean it is definitely weird... isn't it?"
Sam smiled brightly at Colonel O'Neill before saying "Yes, Sir I'm okay with it... but sometimes you gotta wonder...." not finishing her thought, reaching for her door knob, Sam felt Jack's hand on her arm turning her slowly to face him.
"Sam, if you want or need to talk, you can talk to me, Okay" Jack then reaches over and gently picked up Carter's hand in his own, before leaning in towards her, leaving enough space between them to be comfortable, before he speaks "Sam, I wonder all the time..." then squeezes her hand once and lets it fall softly from his hand. Carter can't speak, she can only look down to her hand, now resting at her side and this man standing before her. "Good night Sam, I'll see you in the morning." with a shy smile he turns and heads back towards his own quarters.
Sam whispers softly to herself more than anybody. "Good night... Jack" Sam wondered how they managed to go from 'Carter, see ya round' to 'Good night Sam....' With that thought, Sam closed the door to her quarters, a deep blush spreading across her face.
The next day blew by in a frenzy. Janet released "Doctor Carter" so we could work on the Asguard dialing device. After Daniel came up with his brilliant plan at the briefing earlier. It took several hours, and I must admit I like the way this woman's mind works. Anyway we finally figured it out. Daniel has the mirror dialing device licked. We ... No correction They were ready to go. I just wished I was going as well. I hate to be left behind, even if it is for my own good. Sam was deeply engrossed in her own thoughts as she rounded the corner to her lab. Opening the door and taking only one step in, she noticed something different. Something that was not there earlier. Sam was looking at the most beautiful bunch of Tulips she had ever seen. On her desk next to the bouquet was a card. It's writing Sam would have recognized anywhere. It's was the Colonel's the card read: Sorry your not coming to watch my back, I know how you hate to miss anything good. I'll see you soon. It's signed: Your Colonel.
Sam abruptly turned and sprinted down the hall to the embarkment room, hoping to catch the Colonel before he left. Sam got there just in time. Realizing she wouldn't get the time she needed with the Colonel alone, she took this opportunity to say her final good byes to "Doctor Samantha Carter" before moving to face Colonel O'Neill.
Nodding to him once, all she could manage to say was "I'll be here in case you need anything from this side, Sir"
Jack's reply was short, two words in fact "Thank you" taking a moment to look one last time at Sam. His Sam, before turning to the mirror with the others, everyone touching it only after he counted down to zero. Sam now standing alone on the other side, as she watches The Colonel give Daniel the order to shut off the mirror. Waiting.... not very much fun at any time. But this was worse, she should be there with them.

2 hours later....
Daniel manages to find the correct Sam reflecting back at him, he even checked her tag indicating rank and name. She waited holding her breath until she was sure she could make out the Colonel and that he was safe. She noted they all seemed to be okay, some maybe a little worse for wear but okay, and standing on there own accord. 'That is always a good sign' She thought to herself. Then she watched almost mesmerized by what was unfolding in front her. Daniel and Teal'c had come back through leaving Jack and "Doctor Carter" on the other side.
Sam watched, slightly mortified as that other "Samantha" slowly stepped closer to her Colonel, wrapped her arms around him and kissed him.... I mean really kissed him. Sam felt trapped, she even tried looking away but found herself looking back moments later. Watching as the man she loved kissed her 'other' self. Sam felt sick to her stomach. She waited until the Colonel was safely back from the 'alternate reality' before slowly backing away. Sam needed to get out of here. Now.
Thinking to herself as she made her getaway 'Sam, you idiot you almost blew that one.. what if you managed to talk to him before he left, to thank him for the flowers and his note. Would he have kissed her anyway' the only thought that came to mind was 'Of Course' he would have'. Sam was so lost in her thoughts she was unaware the Colonel O'Neill had come up behind her. "Sam" He spoke so quietly. Turning her head over her shoulder slightly she saw the Colonel looking at her. He looked nervous.
"Colonel, Sir, glad you made it back safely" Sam smiled sweetly.
Jack was not buying it. Any of it. Not her polite conversation, definitely not her sweet smile. No, not one bit. "Carter, I need to talk to you" Jack was back in his Commander mode.
She stopped dead in her tracks and turned towards the Colonel "Sir, what do you want to talk about?" Thankful her voice hadn't given her away. She sounded normal, not at all what she was feeling at the time, but she sounded normal and that's all that matter right now. O'Neill reached out and with a hand on her arm, lead her into a storage room. The only thing private Jack could find on such short notice. Carter was not happy about this change in scenery but kept her mouth shut. She waited for O'Neill to start. It would take a few moments for the Colonel to gather his own thoughts, Sam tried to look bored.
"Sam, I know you got my flowers, I could see it on your face when you entered the embarkment room..." Jack continued not letting Carter answer "I want to explain that kiss. Will you let me try and explain?"
She was looking up at her CO, and found she couldn't help herself, she slowly nodded her head 'Yes', leaving a relieved Jack standing there wondering where to start.
"Sam, first off I didn't kiss her... she did the kissing, the woman just lost her husband only days ago. I didn't pull back because I wanted her to have closure... She needed closure" O'Neill was looking at Carter as he spoke softly, so different from the way he usually addressed her.
This didn't got unnoticed by Carter herself, she could feel her defenses lowering, feel her heart warming once again with the thoughts of Her Colonel and what might be... someday. Carter never let O'Neill finish his statement, she only closed the distance between them and kissed him more thoroughly than he had been kissed in years... maybe ever.
Jack and Sam were both late for the debriefing, Daniel noticed Jack's flushed face and Sam's mused hair. They were both smiling. He could only smile and wait for the General to begin. Thinking to himself 'This should be interesting.... ' and he was not referring to the debriefing.
