The light show was spectacular. The "Fire rain" as Laira liked to call it was beautiful. It looked like the Forth of July out there. When one of the meteors looked too close for comfort, Sam had a very worried look on her face. I really love that look!

THE NEXT DAY ...

Laira and I were walking in the village discussing an even exchange between our worlds. She's a lovely lady... but she's no Sam. I looked up in the blue sky, and I saw it. It was another meteor. Laira freaked out. She said she had never seen the fire rain in the light of day. I asked the team if they had seen it. Carter answered first. She said that she was worried it was only gonna get worse. We decided to try to evacuate the village. I was not easy! Some villagers wanted to stay. We couldn't make them go...

Within the hour, the meteors got more intense. We started evacuating people. Laira was ready to go through when she noticed her son, Garren was missing. Daniel speculated that he went to one of the caves. "OK! Daniel, you and Laira go back Earth and try to get the refugees settled. Teal'C hold the door open for us. Sam and I'll go find Garren." With that we left...

I could hear the meteors hit when we got to the caves. Garren and his girlfriend were there. All of a sudden, we heard an explosion. It sounded like a bomb. Sam said it sounded close. I hope Teal'C got through OK ...

THREE DAYS LATER ...

We finally emerged from the cave. It was raining. We made our way to the village. It was in shambles. Many homes were destroyed. Laira's house was still intact, so Garren said we could stay with him. Sam and I would have to share a bed. That's OK. We've slept close together before. It's not a problem ...

We met up with Paynan for evening meal. He said they tried to go where the Stargate used to be. USED TO BE?!?! Sam's eyes met mine. We ran outside to discover the crater where the stargate was. Oh! My God!! We'll just dig our way out! Sam says the Tollan or the Tok'Ra could probably send a ship. It'll probably take a long time to get home, though. We decided that Daniel and Teal'C would not give up on us. They will find a way to get us out...

Over the next few weeks, Sam and I helped the remaining villagers rebuild and plant crops for next season's harvest. Sam seams to like planting. Of course, here's a woman who admits to talking to her plants. She always seams to amaze me with a new talent I didn't know she had. She is even learning to cook! She's an amazing woman ...

TWO MONTHS LATER ...

The last few months went by quickly. We finished planting the harvest. Every night we slept in the same bed. She's so warm at night. I have to admit, I'm really beginning to enjoy having her near. I think we've finally accepted that it will take some time to get the Tollan or Tok'Ra ships to this part of the galaxy. We just have to be patient ....

We dug down about two feet. We saw an opening. I saw Teal'C's smiling face. The Jaffa hardly ever smiles, but he was now. "TEAL'C, YOU ARE ONE STUBBORN SON OF A BITCH!!!!!!" I told my friend. Teal'C told us that Major Como figured out to use a Particle generator to burn thru the naquadah iris that formed on the gate. We were saved!

It turns out, Sam was wrong about her fertile time. We got pregnant. She lost it, though. It was an eptopic pregnancy. We were devastated. We are still together, though. If only secretly. She told General Hammond the child was someone else's. Only Janet and Daniel know the truth ....
