"What was that?" Sam hissed whirling around, gun poised towards the dark forest. "Sir?" Sam asked, blinking the sleep from her eyes. Twigs cracked under something very large as it made her way around the camp site. "Sir?" Sam asked worried again.

<Where are you?> Sam mused whirling around to face another sound approaching. "Colonel?" She called out carefully. There was a grunt and what sounded like a familiar snort. Sam lowered her wepon and stepped towards the trees closest to her. "Colonel, are you alright?"

"Run!" She heard him hiss. Sam jumped back as Jack hurtled from the bushes and lept towards her. "I said Run!" He barked. Sam backed up, glancing behind her quickly. She quickly took in the site of Jack nursing a bleeding arm. Sam dropped her gun and stepped towards him.

"Colonel, what happened?" She asked softly.

Jack looked up with green eyes and glared at her dangerously. Sam took a frightened step back, they where the same eyes as the creature that had attacked them earlier. "Sam....get out of here." He growled at her, scooting back to the darkness of the trees. Sam hesitated, torn between staying and fleeing.

<maybe I should get help> Sam wondered as Jack held his hand to his chest, as if shielding his arm from her. Sam turned around when she heard the sound of broken twigs behind her. Sam slowly lowered her eyes to see something dart through the bushes, a piercing howl filling the air.

Fear rose in her throat and she swallowed carefully. "Sir, I think-" Sam stopped when she realised he was gone. Only the swaying bushes giving the indication that he had scattered. "Sir?" Sam cried out. <don't freak out. Just get out of here. Do what he told you too.> Sam told herself as she felt goosebumps skim across her neck.

Sam backed up and swept her gun around as she made a delicate path back to the stargate. The dark bushes around her seemed to bow and shake, the once friendly bird calls had morphed into deadly cat calls and shrieks. <calm down, it's OK.> She told herself, but her feet began to pick up the pace when she heard roaring behind her. The sounds of growls and barks filled the air and stamping could be heard. No doubt that what ever was hidden in the bushes was attacking something.

"Please be alright, Jack." Sam whimpered as she hurried down the track towards the stargate. <Please, be Ok.> she whispered silently. Sam tightened her grip on her gun and made a mad dash for the DHD. THe growls grew louder and raggered panting matched her own as she charged out of the forest.

"Arrrroooooohhh."

Aderenaline pumped through her viens as fear made her senses sharpen. Her gutt cried out in pain as she ran for her life to the DHD. It was only a couple of feet away now. Sam gasped out as something jumped into her path and blocked her. But instead of stopping, Sam fired and ran around the beastly figure and kept running.

"Ah!" Sam cried out as something sharp embeded itself into her knee, but to her relief it was only the broken shards of a rotten stump and she kept running. She could hear something lapping at her heels and she cried out as she ran faster. "Yes!" Sam yelled as she hit the symbols with her fist. She dialed home and quickly aimed her gun behind her.

The stargate engaged behind her and she stopped. A beast with green eyes crawled on all fours and stopped a foot infront of her. It's teeth slicked with blood as it growled at her meancingly. Sam backed up slowly, but stopped when she saw the familiar dog tags hanging from the creatures hands. "No." Sam breathed out.

The creature bucked and dove forward for her. But before he could reach her, it was hit by another beast and wrestled to the ground. Sam watched with a tense curioustity as the two creatures wrestled, bitting and punching the other. The second creature sat up and looked at Sam and before she could react it dove and pushed her through the gate, sending her tumbling through the wormhole. Leaving her to remember what it had hissed.

"Help me, Sam."

10 earth hours earlier......

"So Sam starts *freaking* out-"

"I was *not* freaking out." Sam denied shaking her head as they walked through the large clearing. Sam hid her face as Jack described the fishing trip that herself and Jack had been on, to Daniel and Teal'c. She saw him roll his eyes and Daniel smirked.

"You where too." Jack insisted. "You where standing up in the boat jumping up and down telling me to, 'kill it!'." Jack started laughing and renacted Sam jumping up and down. "Kill it Jack! Kill It! It's huge! Get rid of it!"

Sam pulled a face and nudged him in the ribs with her gun. "Sir, I think you are totally miss understanding what really happened." Sam tried defending herself, but by the non beliving looks from Daniel and even Teal'c, it was a battle already lost.

"Alright Major, *you* tell them what happened." Jack insisted grinning maddly. He glanced at the surrounding area of endless forests. < is it too much to ask to get a diffrent planet other than tree's?> Jack wondered boredly.

"Well.." Sam started carefully. "There was a HUGE spider and it had so many legs. I'd never seen one so big, for all I know it could of been some horriable creatures we'd brought back from the Asguards...."

"So you freaked out?" Daniel fished cheekily. Sam slapped him playfully in the cheast and tried unsucsesfully to glare at Jack. Daniel smiled noticing the two where *alot* cosier and happier than they had ever been. <Who knows maybe something had happened that they have left out> Daniel wondered playfully.

"Daniel, stop standing there grinning like a monkey, come on we've got work to do." Jack said jokingly mentioning to around him. It was almost dusk and they where searching for a place to camp. "And don't you start Carter, I *know* what your thinking!" Jack replied before Sam could speak. Sam grinned shyly and went on ahead insearch for flat ground.

"So what did you two *do* other than fishing?" Daniel asked leeringly at Jack.

Jack gave him an innocent look. "I don't know what your talking about *Daniel*, we went fishing, you where quite welcome to come." Jack pointed out, keeping a carefull eye that Sam didn't wonder to far.

Daniel rolled his eyes. "Come on Jack, your telling me the two of you went up to Minesoda ALONE, in *your* cabin, ALONE, just you two, ALONE and you went *fishing*? Oh yeah and ALONE?" Daniel asked suspicously.

Daniel couldn't believe it when Jack actually blushed. "NOTHING happened *Daniel*. We're two friends, collegues, co-workers, we went fishing alright? Innocent."

"Yeah I bet you say that to all the blondes you take up to cabins." Daniel muttered.

Jack pulled him to a stop. "Listen Daniel, Sam's my friend, I didn't nor do I wish too take her away and seduce her and then brag about it. We are *just* friends." Jack insisted slapping him on the back. "Oh and don't like the way you kept acting as if were some love sick teenagers who take every oppertunity to grope each other." Jack frowned. "And Major Carter is not some other blonde."

Daniel just nodded his head disbeliving. "Sure Jack, you keep telling yourself that. Better yet why don't you tell me about the 'Regulations' too. Yeah, havn't heard that in a while." Daniel smiled and mentioned to Sam who was kicking a rock from side to side. "Who are you trying to fool Jack? Even Teal'c here can see you two a crazy for each other. Right Teal'c?"

Teal'c nodded in his usual Jaffa way. "It appears you two share a bond. One that you are blind too."

"Oh for crying out loud!" Jack snapped. "*We* are *not* having sex!"

"Who's having sex?" Sam asked wondering over.

"Daniel!" Jack spat out, jumping as if being burnt.

"I am not-"

Jack shot a look at Daniel warning him to shut up. Sam threw her hands up. "Well when you *boys* are done talking about your libdios and fantasys, *someone* might wanna help me set up camp." Sam hinted to behind her.

"I will assit you." Teal'c said stepping to help her.

"Thankyou Teal'c." Sam said sending both Jack and Daniel looks, making them feel like school kids.

As soon as Sam was gone Jack turned to Daniel. "Thankyou very much Jackson! Now she thinks i'm a sex crazed maniac!"

Daniel smiled. "I thought you didn't care what Sam thought. But you know, I understand where your coming from."

"Good."

"Since your sleeping with her and all."

"Thankyou.....What? No!" Jack growlded. "I'm warning you Space Monkey, i'm gonna hang you upside down and hang from the stargate." Jack warned.

"Promises, promises."

"Daniel!"

"Ok, Ok. I'm sorry."

"So then they find all these sticks that are shapped like stick figures and there all freaked out and-"

"Daniel." Jack warned. "Why are you telling Teal'c about the 'Blair Witch' while we are in the middle of a forest?" Daniel shrugged and mentioned to Sam. Jack turned and looked to see Sam hunched over reading a book by fire light, looking ingrossed in the book. But as he looked closer he noticed that she had both fingers in her ears, obviously blocking Daniel out.

"Sam." Jack called out softly. He crept towards her slowly and grinned back at Daniel. Daniel shook his head and rolled his eyes at Jack.

"Saaaaaammmm." Jack called softly, right behind her. He blew softly on her neck, to which she emediatly started scratching at. Jack blew again and Sam went to brush it again, but Jack grasped her hand and pulled her backwards.

Sam let out a wail of what sounded like "Witch!" and turned around to punch what ever had her. Jack laughed and caught her arm before it hit him.

"Sir?" Sam gasped frowning. "That was so *not* funny! I can't believe you did that." Sam cried and slapped him.

Daniel's eybrows rose and he looked at the 'comfy' couple mucking around. Jack let out a fake wounded sound as Sam hit him playfully. Daniel just nodded to Teal'c, conferming their idea of the two being together.

Daniel shook his head and saw Sam excuse herself to go to the bathroom. Wondering off, Daniel watched as Jack followed Sam's retreating figure. Daniel was about to coment, when a bout of sneezing took over him.

"Achoo!"

"Bless you."

"O'Neill." Teal'c asked. "I do not understand the meaning of the term 'bless you' when Dr Jackson sneezes." Teal'c querried tilting his head to one side in a confused manner, as he often did when approached by a strange tauri custom.

Jack thought for a minute, while Daniel contiued to sneeze. "Gee's Daniel, your brains are gonna fly out soon. Why havn't you taken them pills Doc' gave you?"

Daniel sighed and sneezed again, blowing his already red nose. " It's not my fault.::sniff:: I've taken...achoo... all of them.Twice.::sniff:: Nothing seem's to....achoo...work." Daniel finished miserably. He laid back against the tree and breathed deeply, but sneezed again.

Jack turned to Teal'c. "In all honsesty I have no idea why we say 'bless you'....We just do." If anything Teal'c looked more confused than before, but he nodded and let it be.

"Jack." Daniel said sniffing. "Can you just bang me across the head and knock me unconious?" Jack smiled and waved down Teal'c questioning. "Pl...pl.....achoo... please Jack. I can't..achoo...achoo...achoo..take it anymore."

"Maybe it would be wise if we sent Daniel Jackson through the stargate. Perhaps he might get worse if he stays here." Teal'c pointed out as he sent Daniel a look for sneezing on his arm.

"Sorry Teal'c."

Teal'c nodded and looked to Jack for agreement of his proposal. "I wouldn't mind Jack. It's better than sitting here and feeling like my head is caving in. "He smiled. "Beside if we where attacked by the goul'ds they'd just follow the line of tissues and get us."

Jack laughed and patted Daniel on the back. Daniel looked up misreably through thick eyelashes and sniffed. "Are you sure Daniel? I mean I don't like us splitting up like this. It can be dangerous." Jack warned ever the braze leader.

"I will assits Daniel to Earth and then return back here before the sun has come up." Teal'c proposed handing Daniel some more tissues. "You and Major Carter can sleep while I am gone. I will be back before you are awake."

"I don't know Teal'c....achoo...achoo.....maybe they'll be 'busy', maybe Jack's trying to...achoo.... get rid of us so he can...achoo... ravish the Major." Daniel teased, sneezing and laughing at the same time. He held his head as dizzyness over took him.

"Teal'c take him before I kill him." Jack muttered, glaring at Daniel. "Where is she anyway? she has been gone for a while." He egnored the cat calls from Daniel and stood up, peering through the tree's for her.

"Why don't you go.....achoo...find her Jack.....maybe she's waiting for you.....achoo....achoo...achoo...so she can....achoo.achoo.achoo.achoo.achoo..eh. I'll go now." Daniel said defeated as bouts of sneezing took over him. Jack shook his head as Teal'c helped Daniel to his feet and helped him pack up.

"Carter?" Jack called out.

"Here! I'll be there in a second, Sir." Sam's voice came ringing through the tree's and Jack shot Daniel a satified glare. Daniel sneezed his answer and waved as he left with Teal'c. By the time Daniel had left, Sam had wondered out of the woods to find Jack lounging by the fire.

"Where's Daniel and Teal'c?" She asked, looking around for them. A far away sneeze answered her and she nodded. "Had enough did he?" Sam said, making Jack smile. "SO it's just you and me." Sam said, almost blushing at the tinge of her voice.

Jack nodded and leant back agains the log. "Yup. " It was quite for a while, before Jack turned to find her staring sleeply at the fire. "You wanna go to bed?" He asked. He grinned at the shocked expression on her face and laughed. "I meant do you...yourself want to go to bed...you look exhusted."

Sam smiled shyly and lowered her head. "Nah, i'll go in a minute."Her voice soft and sleepy. Jack had a feeling he'd end up putting her to bed, as she was always too stubourn to accept that she was tierd. "Night Major." He whispered.

"Night Jack." Sam whispered, her head drooping, her eyes almost closed. In no time Sam had fallen alseep on his shoulder and he smiled, wrapping his arms around her to keep her warm. Sam sighed happily and snuggled in deeper to the warm patch of his jacket and slept soundly.

Jack was almost falling asleep himself when he woke up to a growling. A first he wondered sleepily if it was just his stomach, but the rising sound told him other wise. Jack closed his fingers over his gun and searched the area with his eyes. He could see much in the way as the fire had died and it was only the full moon that gave him a source of light.

Sam stirred slightly, but nuzzled back into him, curling her legs up tighter and falling back to sleep. A shadow glidded from the tree infront of him and Jack held Sam close protectingly. Sam sighed and fell back to sleep, oblivous to the danger around her.

Jack watched a large figure testingly step forward from the tree. A large bear-dog like creature growled at him, it's white teeth glinting like knives in the moonlight, it's green eyes glowing demandingly. Jack took the safty latch off his gun incase the creature attacked.

Moving achingly slow the creature edged towards him and sniffed the air. Titling it's head back it let out a long blood curling howl, elicting other howls like it from far away. Jack tensed and prepared himself. The creature began to advance for the sleepling Sam , when Jack rose his gun and fired. THe creature howled nad skittered backwards.

"Jack?" Sam cried out, waking up and blinking at the slumped figure. Her eyes widdened as it stood up and growled. Jack stood his gun aimed at the creature, anticipating it's next move. But the creature wasn't intrested in Jack, it stared intently at Sam, making her nervous. "Sir?" Sam whispered.

"Stay still." Jack snapped watching it carefully. More howls filled the air, startling Sam, who stood stock still, afraid to breath too heavily. The creature lurged towards Sam, fangs exposed as it dove towards her with a blood lust. "Sam!" Jack cried out and dove infront of her.

The creature howled in fustration and scattered back when Sam fired her own gun. Jack wrestled the creature off him kicked it away. It was motionless, laying in a heap infront of them. Both where silent for a moment, before Jack edged towards it and kicked it.

Nothing happened and Sam let out a breath. Jack turned to her relieved. "Sir, are you ok?" She turned to him and saw him staggering towards the bushes. "Colonel?" He waved to her that he was ok and was just looking in the bushes. But something away he was holding himself told him that he was hurt.

Sam sighed and sat back down, waiting for him to come back. But it was several hours before he retured, when Sam was re awoken by a scream. Sam jumped to her feet and looked around for what she thought would be the Colonel. But he was no where to be seen.

"What was that?" Sam hissed whirling around, gun poised towards the dark forest. "Sir?" Sam asked, blinking the sleep from her eyes. Twigs cracked under something very large as it made her way around the camp site. "Sir?" Sam asked worried again.

Sam collasped onto the grate with a 'thud' as the stargate disengaged infront of her. A team of medics surrounded her in seconds and she could hear Janet's probing voice barking orders as they rushed her to the infirmary. "Jack!" Sam cried out. Janet's face came into view and a light switch blinded her for a moment.

"Sam what happened? Where's Colonel O'Neill?" Sam shook her head and tried to sit up from the inifrmary bed, her leg making her cry out. "Sam, listen to me."Janet ordered stilling her. "You can tell me what happened as soon as we fix your leg? Ok?"

Sam nodded weakily and laid back as they disinfected her leg and bandaged it up. All the while her mind racing as she remebered the last things Jack had said to her. <what was that thing? And what happened to Jack? WHy did he look so much like the creature? Was it an alternate version of him?> Question's plagued her mind as she came up with questions she didn't have answers for.

Janet finished and she was quickly joined by the General's stern face and Teal'c ever stonic expression. "Major Carter, what exactly happened to you out there? And where is the Colonel?"

Sam took a deep breath and breathed out. "The Colonel and I where attacked by a creature. It was huge.It was like a bear or something."Sam babbled. "Then it jumped at me and the Colonel jumped infront to stop it. I shot it, but I think it hurt the Colonel."

Sam paused and tried to remember exactly what had happened. "He, the Colonel, went to cheak it out and never came back. I waited, but i thought maybe he was just cheaking things out. But then I was almost attacked again and I was alone, when suddenly I saw the Colonel and he told me to run and I did."

Sam closed her eyes and breathed out, trying to will the General to understand. " Then the thing was there and had the colonel's dog tags. I had dialed and went to step through when the thing approached me. Out of nowhere a similar creature appread and attacked it. They fought and then he pushed me through, but it wasn't a creature it was the Colonel, with green eyes-"

"Colonel O'Neill was one of the creatures? With green eyes?" The General asked sceptickly.

Sam sighed. "I know what your thinking, but it was him and when he pushed me into the stargate he said 'help me' and then i was here." Sam shook her head. "General we have to go back and get him. Something happened to him."

"It's not your fault, Sam." Daniel assured her, rubbing her arm for comfort. "Did it start after we left?" Daniel asked worridly as Sam's eyes darted frantikly around the room.

"No." Sam said distracted. "I went to sleep and I woke up to the thing growling. The Colonel shot at it first but it did nothing, and then the second time i shot it, it was dead. But it can't of been becasue later on it looked like the same one that was at the 'gate. "

"Major Carter, can you give me an exact discription of the 'thing'?" The General asked.

"Oh...Sorry Sir." Sam said forgetting herself. "It was as big as a bear, furry like one, but more like a dog a wolf maybe. But it had legs like a man and scrabled about on all fours. It also had bright green eyes and when i saw the colonle his eyes where green too. But he told me to run, and I could hear more, so i ran." Sam bowed her head shamefully ,feeling like a coward.

"I have heard of that kind before." Teal'c said breaking the silence. Everyone looked at him and he bowed his head. "On Tula'c there was a myth, much like the one of the Tuari 'werewolf', that was told to children to scare them. If you where not inside and in bed by nightfall when the moon was full, the Bolgrane would come for you. It had eyes that glowed like a Gould's, yet it ran like a man, but as hairy as Dolrine-"

"Dolrine?" The General asked.

"A dog." Quipped Daniel.

"Yes. But as a Jaffa I did not believe in such a 'myth', but one day while hunting with my father, we came across the footprints. So we followed them. When we set up camp that night we heard rumbling and we saw it scamper across our path and hide. " Teal'c looked at Sam and tilted it's head. "But I never attacked us. There are some stories or the 'changing', but I believe that to be talk."

"Changing?" Sam asked, tryign to keep the shaking out of her vioce.

"Yes." Answered teal'c. "Where one has shared the blood with a Bolgrane and became one of them. But if what you say is true about O'Neill, he will not remember this incident. For Bolgrane take the shape of Tuari during the day and on the nights of full moons, changes to a Bolgrane."

A heavy silence filled the infrimary. Each one was thinking about the myth and if O'Neill had fallen under the 'changing'. Sam bit her lip. < I should of stayed or brang him back with me, but I left him> Sam thought miserably.

"General what if we send a MALP, just to cheak, maybe it was a trick of the light, maybe Jack is fine." Daniel said, his voice alight with hope. Sam nodded, looking at the General, while he pieced all the information together.

"Alright." The General said and went off the prepare the MALP. Sam sighed, < please be alright Jack.>

0o0o0o0o0o0o0o0o

"There he is!" Daniel exclaimed. The MALP turned to a 60 degree angle and showed a figure slumped on the steps of the gate. His clothes where tattered and blood soaked his arms and legs. "Zoom in." The techinician zoomed in and Jack's face lit up the screen.

General Hammond beemed and picked up the microphone. "Colonel O'Neill." He boomed into the microphone. Sam crossed her fingers as the sound of wind was met on the recieving end. "Colonel O'Neill." The General repeated.

Jack let out a loud groan. "Ah, I don't wanna go to school, Mom." The General smiled as Jack blinked and then stopped. "Ah, slight problem." Jack said slowly looking up at the MALP.

"What's that?" General Hammond asked.

"I feel like a teenager who's been caught drinking. Where the hell am I?" Jack asked looking around, but not moving his body. "Oh yeah, and I can't seem to get up."

General Hammond laughed and smiled at Sam. "We'll send your team for you."

Jack grinned into the camera. "Thanks." Suddenly his face went serious. "Is everyone Ok? Where's Sam?" He asked trying to move his hand to sit up.

"I'm right here, Sir, thanks to you." Sam said happily, watching as Jack raised his hands to give a thumbs up."We'll be there soon, Sir." Sam limped off to get ready as the MALP transmission ended. < thank you what ever God exsits.> Sam thought graciously.

"Oy, I have a headache." Jack wimpered from his bed in the infirmary. Janet shot him a look of annoyence as she tried to give him a needle. "No, Doc' no needle, pills, give me pills, not...owwww." He rubbed his backside as Janet walked away. "Your so mean Doc'." He complained.

"Quit your bellyaching or i'll give you another one." Janet warned.

Jack went pale. "My lips are sealed. I am Quiet, not a sound. Ah! My FRIENDS!" Jack said as the rest of SG-1 entered the infirmary. "Guys, you've come to save me. Right, Daniel you take my shoes, Teal'c you keep watch and Major, give me hand."

Janet rolled her eyes. "Nice try Colonel, but I rule these here parts and your staying in bed."

"But Mommmmm, I wann go play with the guys, please???" Jack whinned, sounding more and more like a child. Janet just shook her head and patted Sam on the arm as she left. "So now the wicked witch of the infirmary has gone, how 'bout busting me out?"

Sam hid her smiled by looking down and grinned when he gave her puppy eyes. "Don't even try it,Sir." Sam warned waggling her finger at him. "But I brought you something."

Jack sat up straight, if he had a tail, it would be wagging excitdly. "Oh gimme!" Jack said. "Lemme guess, Beer?" Sam shook her head and he turned to Daniel. "Beer?" Daniel shook his head, and Jack looked at Teal'c. "Teal'c, knew I could rely on you..what kind?"

"No beer." Teal'c said solomy.

Jack pouted. "What kind of jail busters are you guys? Ohhh...hang on, I smell choclate cake, and you have a bag...oh please...Carter, Sam, i'll be your bestest comander ever?" Sam grinned and look at the others. Daniel nodded and Sam opened the bag to allow him to look. "Ah, I love you guys." Jack repeated, sounding the perfect impersenation on Cartman from South Park. Looking in further, his grin grew widder when he pulled out his game boy and some new games with a bow attached to them.

"Happy Birthday, Sir." Sam said winking. A nurse that had been observing them nodded and walked away."Sorry, only way we could smuggle it in." Sam explained. Jack nodded and chatted for a while until they had to go. Just as Daniel and Teal'c had left, Sam looked around mysteriously for any nurses or Janet. Jack clapped his hands. Opening her jacket she pulled out a bottle of beer and sneezed to cover putting it in the draw.

Jack's smile grew even widder. "New there was a reason I loved you guys." Jack said playfully as Sam grinned proudly. "Thanks Sam." He winked. "For everything." Sam nodded and gave him a big smile, before leaving him. Jack smiled and leaned back in his bed. <now if only I could re word that sentance without being caught.> he thought as he switched on his gameboy. "Sweeet."

"What's with the smile Sam?" Daniel asked curiously as Sam wandered out of the infirmary. If anything she appeared to be walking on air. Sam looked at him with a dreamy expression.

"What's wrong with smiling? You should try it Daniel." Sam toyed playfully walking with some kind of beat.

Daniel shrugged his shoulders. "Just seem's that you only smile like that around *Jack*." Daniel teased trying to make her blush. "How come I never get one of those smiles when I'm sick." Daniel sighed dramtickly. "All I get is 'Oh glad you Ok Danny boy.' and Jack here gets, 'Sir, thank God your Ok, may I kiss you ? May I love you and be your sex slave?' hmmm." Daniel grinned enjoying the upper hand.

Suddenly Daniel coughed as Sam punched him, he leaned over and spluttered while Sam contiued to walk in her bounce pattern. Sam gave him an angelic smile and smiled at the airman as they passed. "Daniel i'm gonna give you a diffrent smile in a minute if you don't quit it."

"Oh, did I hit a nerve?" Daniel teased ruthlessly still rubbing his stomach. "Tell me i'm wrong and i'll go away."

"Your wrong."

Daniel didn't move. "You see I'm not, so I wont go away. I know that deep down under all them fatigues and military core, your heart goes pitta patta when Jack walks past and not you or anyone else can tell me diffrent."

Sam glared at him, but couldn't help but smile as Daniel almost danced about. "Daniel you are one sad man. Tell me, have you been reading Janet's trashly love novels again?"

Daniel snorted. "Come on, you sneak in cake, beer and video games, where as i'm dying and you give me 'COOKIES!'. "Daniel shieked. "Talk about favoratism."

"Grow up Trashy novel Boy."

Daniel tried to look offended. "There not *trashy*." Daniel defened. "Now you listen here Sam, as your alternate brother and friend, you can't honsetly look me in the eyes and say you don't feel even the slightest tingle, emotion or love for Jack O'Neill?"

Sam sighed and looked Daniel right in the eyes. "I feel nothing other than the fact he is my CO and friend." Sam stepped away and walked down the hall with a straight face.

Daneil stood sighed. "Damn she's good." But he ran after her anyway and began bugging her about red roses and romantic dinners and romping in the gate room. <sometimes people just need a push> Daniel mused.

"Ah, you stupid little mario, move!" Jack yelled shaking the GameBoy as if shaking it helped the little figure move faster. Jack frowned ith concentration and scratched at his arm for the 15th time in a minute. Jack paused the game fustrated and scratched his arm. It burned at the touch, but Jack couldn't stop scratching.

"Don't scratch!" Jack looked up with a guilty look on his face as Janet busted him. He smiled angelickly and tried to hide his blistered arm. "Show me." Janet said sternly. Obviously tierd and fustrated from all her pacients that refused to co operate, and Jack O'Neill was the prime source of her fatigue.

Jack slowly held out his hand and she frowned. Finger nail scratches where bestowed upon his whole arm and little splatters of blood showed where he had scratched it raw. Janet turned over his arm to inspect it and frowned when Jack brushed her hand away so he could scratch.

"Doc' come on, let go." Jack whimpered as she protested and covered his arm, so he couldn't scratch. "I gotta scratch!" Jack protested. "Come on." His voice was high strained and despreate, which made Janet all the more worried. "What have you been eating?" Janet asked wondering if it was a food reaction. If she knew SG-1 like she thought she did, it was no doubt they had smuggled in some treats for the Colonel, and since she did know SG-1 and especially Sam, she knew that he would have already eaten all the wrong foods.

"Nothing, I swear. I'm just itchy, maybe it's a reaction to all them needles you keep shoving in me."Jack grinned. "Too bad, no more needles for me. I'm on a needle free diet."

Janet gave him her best 'don't give me that' look and started to add disinfectant to his arm, which made him cry out more. "Nice try Colonel, but even an idiot know's you've been eating something other than infirmary food."

Jack gave her his best 'boy scout' look and held his other hand up. "I swear to you I havn't not. I'm not a liar Doc'."

"Oh yeah." Janet said taking his hand and showing him the choclate cake under his fingernails. "You Colonel O'Neill, have been busted." She said giving him a stern look and bandaged the wound tighter so he couldn't scratch it. "You think your the first to try and con me? Think again. I'll have you know, you and Sam are the most coniving people i know. You should be lawyers, not star travellers."

Jack grinned smugly and nodded proudly. "We don't lie, we simply miss inform you of all the truth, that's not lieing, that's-"

"Yeah, yeah, not a total interpretation of the truth."Janet finsished for him. "Colonel, Sam's delievered the same speech. What, do you two sit around coming up with all the lamest excuses you can think of?" Janet asked, noticing that Jack's eyes beemed with proud at the mention of Sam.

"Funny Doc', your just jealous. With my wit and Sam's brain, we are a leathal combination, where unstopable." Jack pronuced, grinning like a school girl.

"Unstopable pair of nutcases." Janet corrected. Finishing his arm, she shook her head, took the choclate cake that he had hidden in the draw and left shaking her head and muttering 'leathal combinatin indeed'. Jack sat back satisfied, re thinking the conversation as he often did where it involved Sam. It was no secret, he like Sam, maybe even loved her, but the last thing he would ever do was admit it and spoil everything.

Jack grunted as his arm began to itch again and he scratch madly at his other arm. "Gee's, what is with this?" Jack asked confused as suddenly his whole body became alight with the itch. Kicking back the covers he gapped at the hair covering his legs. A fur like skin covered his leg and his arm. Jack touched his face gingerly as he felt the fur reach him and cried out.

Before Jack could scream he felt anger well up inside him and he tried despratly to force himself to stop as he lunged from the bed and towards the infirmary door. His mind felt sleepy and he became over whelmed by exhustion. As his mind shut down, the animal urge in him roared and Jack lost control over what ever had taken over him.

"Daniel, enough already, I have work to do." Sam said as she heard her door open. Sam shook her head and contiued to concentrate on the paper work infront of her. <Does he ever give up?> Sam wonderd as she contiued to egnore him.

Something behind her broke and Sam wirlded around tell Daniel off for breaking her things, when suddenly she was hit and blackness surrounded her. Crumbling to the floor she didn't see the creature that sniffed her and surrounded her. Growling the creature picked her up and placed her unconious over his shoulder and he crawled out, defencingly holding onto her like a rag doll. As he walked down the corridor, the alarm went off in the base and the creature reacted by howling.

"Hey Janet, Do you mind if I see Jack?" Daniel asked, walking into the infirmary, meeting Janet at the door. Janet nodded and mentioned to the back where the Colonel had been set up. "Thanks, I wont be long, just need to ask him a question." Daniel turned round the corner and stopped. The bed was empty and the Gameboy lay shattered on the floor.

Coming closer to the bed, Daniel's smile faded when he saw the blood spots on the bed and he called to Janet. "Daniel what's wrong?" Janet asked concerened. She stopped when she saw the empty bed. "Oh that man can't sit still for 2 minutes." Janet said angrily and turned when she suddenly noticed the blood spots. "Oh no." Janet uttered worried that he had hurt himself and she set out the alarm to find him.

In the corridor she ran into a sourly looking General Hammond. "Sir?" Janet asked confused.

"It's that creature that the Major described. He's got her now." The General explained rushing with the other airmen to the gate in which the creature resined. Walking into the embartion room, he stopped. Sitting ontop of the ramp was the creature, holding a limp figure to his body protectivly.

Daniel gasped, while Janet walked the creature curiously. Surrounded by the bases airmen, all armed and holding fire, the creature seemed unsettled. When one got to close it howled to the ceilling or growled menacingly, all the while nursing Sam in his arms.

"Hold your fire." The General comanded waiting to see if the animal would attack Sam. And airmen took another step forward and the creature reacted in slinging Sam over his shoulder and climbing up onto the stargate. "Hold you fire! Hold your fire!" Genreal Hammond shouted, than turned to Teal'c. "SOn, how do we stop this? What does it want?"

Teal'c stood speechless, almost unnerved and stared curiously at the creature crawling up onto a shavron and up to the duct on the ceiling. With a bold leap it leaped to the ceiling, swinging as it climbed the fictures like a monkey. All the while Sam , hanging lifelessly from his shoulder.

"Could this be any more like King Kong?" Daniel muttered as the creature pulled out the air duck and through it to the floor, narrowly missing the airmen, who scattered like ants. Janet saw Sam's eyes blink open as she disapeared through the airduck with the creature.

Sam muffeled calls could be heard as the creature climbed through the air duct and then the unmistable sound of someone being hit could be heard. Sam's calls where silenced and the creature moved on. Airmen scattered to re locate and the General Ordered some of them to get tranqilisers.

Janet followed the thuds to the locker rooms and jumped back as suddenly the creature jumped out of the duct. Airmen streamed after it as the men with tranqilsers pushed forward. The creature let out a howl as it was hit in the air and leg, but it didn't seem to effect it. It simply curled up in the corner holding Sam clutched to his cheast, his back shielding her from them.

"Wait don't shoot!" Daniel cried out and the airmen looked blankly at him. Daniel turned widly to The General. "If you hurt the creature your hurting Jack. I can't explain it, but that's Jack and if you kill it, you will be killing him. "

"But he's holding the Major under hostage and if we don't stop it, he might kill her." General Hammond responded.

"But he's not. Look." Hammond watched as the creature seemed to be softly howling and rocking Sam back and forth, while growling at those who came to close. "He's protecting her." Daniel explained. As they looked on, they watched as the creature gently stroaked Sam's face and hair, while moving deeper into the corner away from the light.

"So what do we do?" General Hammond asked confused.

"We wait." Janet butted it.

"FOr what?"

"Until it...Jack...goes to sleep and take Sam and then put him in a holding cell until we figure this out." Daniel explained, waving to the airmen to step back as he got to close. The General nodded and gave new orders for them to wait and for some of them to leave. WHile the rest got settled for a long wait.

"Owww." Sam groaned stirring. She tried to move when she suddenly frooze. Looking up horrified at a hairy beastly face, Sam felt the urge to scream as she opened her mouth.

"Don't scream." She heard some one that sounded like Daniel hiss to her. Sam looked around wildly and saw half of the bases airmen staring at her. Sam turned back to the creature that held her like a vice. His hand dug into her waist, while her lower half was crushed to him. "Just be still Sam." She heard Daniel tell her in his best reassuring voice.

"It's the thing." Sam whispered.

"We know." Daniel said. Sam could see him now. Slowly Teal'c treaded towards them and began to help Daniel pick her from the creatures grasp. "But it's Jack."

"The Colonel?" Sam whispered, looking up at the creature with no longer fear, but sympathy. "What happened to him?" She asked, hoping he was going to be ok. "Is he hurt?"

"We don't know." Daniel whispered, wrapping his hands under her arms and gently tried to slide her out. The creature grunted and grasped Sam tighter to him, burring her under him. Sam looked up at Daniel as he sighed defeated. Obviously they had been at this for hours.

Sam slowly wiggled out slightly and nodded for Daniel to back up slightly. The creature grunted and one of his eyes flew open. Sam bit her lip and leaned in to him. "Shhhh." She soothed. "Go back to sleep." She whispered. THe creature let out a small grunt and his eyes drooped again and his heaving breathing returned. "Let me go." She whispered gently. "Just let go.shhhhh." Sam whispered, her vioce low and soothing.

The creature loosed his grip slightly and Sam smiled. "Shhh, that's it...come on. little bit more." The creature's head drooped to the side but his grip loosed enough for Sam to move her legs. Slowly she moved out of his arms until only her arms where held.

The creatures eyes flashed open and she frooze. "Shhh, go back to sleep, shhh, that's it...shhhh." She sung softly in his ears. The creature sighed and it's eyes closed, allowing Sam to pull of completly. Crawling towards Daniel she took one last look at the sleeping creature and made a made sprint for Daniel.
