Daniel contemplated the condensation rings from Jack's beer. Jack was quietly talking about lost friends. Daniel was content to listen... until Charlie Kawalsky's name came up.

Daniel: I wonder what would have happened with Sam and Charlie's relationship if he had lived.

Jack: Kawalsky and Carter?

Daniel: They met when she was first assigned to research the Stargate, before you were recruited.

Jack: They had a "relationship"?

Daniel: You know, I think he really loved her.

Jack: I won't accept that.

Daniel: Is that because you think I'm wrong or because you're in love with her?

Jack had no answer.
