~ After ~

Lying
On my back
On my bed
Feet kicking the wall
No shirt, no bra, ripped jeans slung over chair in the corner.
Half covered only by a warm body,
Arm draped across my midsection and
Down...
Soft music accompanied by louder snores.
Regrets mingle; guilt whispers
Teasing me with my betrayal of all I held sacred,
Reason exerts force over heart, body and soul.
But yet...
My heart rejoices, calling out one name over
And over
And over again.
He stirs now, pulling me in closer
Until in his arms, I gently
Fall
Asleep.
