Summary: This is the answer for Challenge #736 Submitted by Caitlin Morris (Added November 9, 2000 at Heliopolis.): Sam and Jack, (currently unaware or in denial of their feelings for each other) are forcibly captured by the goauld. Coincidentally, the goauld they have been infected with just happen to have a relationship.... Could include injury, angst, hurt, violence, character deaths (preferably the goauld they have been taken by!) and anything else appropriate.

Note: Relationship does NOT have to be one of love.....

THEIR LOVE

CHAPTER ONE

" Major Carter here" Sam picked up the phone.

" It's me, Janet. Since when are you a Major Carter?" " Sorry, but I had two calls from a guy, who was trying to convince me to buy the whole Encyclopedia Britannica. I thought, that he was in the line again."

" I see. Sam, I really hate to tell you this, but…"

" There is something wrong on base?"

" Not on Base" Janet sighed.

" With Daniel" it was a statement, no question.

" Yes. You know, that he was on a mission with the 8ers…"

"Yes, and I thought that he was safe. The 8ers are diplomatic, for cryin' out loud!" Janet remained silent for a moment and Sam finally realized, what she just said.

" Okay, let's get over it. What happened?"

" He had wandered off and…"

" For God's sake, has that Major Andropulos completely lost his mind?! He let him wander off?"

" I'm afraid so. He's in Colonel O'Neill's office now."

" Serves him right. And now?"

"Daniel is there, being held captive by the aliens, because he did something, that angered their God."

" Shit" Sam silently cursed under her breath. "I'm on my way."

" Thank you, Sam," Janet nodded, and Sam knew she meant it.

All of a sudden Teal'c disappeared and Sam and Jack weren't able to retrieve him. They couldn't even find a trace. They were planning to head back for the Stargate to get help, when a bright flash blinded them. They fell to the ground down unconscious.

Sam awoke with a groan; her head was hurting like hell. As she realized what happened, she looked around in an attempt to find Jack. He was there, but he was still unconscious. Sam looked around again and noticed the solid walls enclosing their current location.

"Damn it", she cursed under her breath. This just wasn't her day. Shit, it wasn't even her year. Her last five years.

" Watch that tongue, Major!" came a muffled reply. "I didn't realize, that you are the cursing type."

" Well, SIR, if you would take a look around, please! It's not the room, I was supposed to be in."

" Well, a bit more color and it could take up with the embarkation room."

" Sir, this is not funny" Sam snapped at him.

" Of course not" he became serious. " I was just trying to enlighten the mood."

" Sir, I would like to go home! Now!"

" Whoa, Carter, what's that?" Jack was surprised by Sam's current behavior.

" This place is creepy and I'm not the fan of ghosts and green, slimy monsters."

" Carter, relax. We were on P2whatever. Remember, there were only those little creatures, who looked like the ewoks from Star Wars."

" Sir, with all due respect, but 'only' doesn't seem to fit them. After all they took Daniel captive."

" Because he made their God angry. Even Daniel knows, that that should be the worst thing, you could do."

" I know" Sam sighed. " But I just can't get rid of the misgivings, I have."

" You have got misgivings? Why didn't you start with this?"

" I thought, you would say, that I'm too pessimistic. But since Teal'c disappeared, my stomach's been doing somersaults."

"Let's find out where we are" Jack rose to his feet and approached the door. Well, it seemed to be a door. " Hey, anybody out there?"

" Sir…" Sam winced, as she heard the thumping, Jack tried to get the attention of someone in the outside world.

" Headache, Carter?" he asked her sympathetically.

" Yes, sir. Hurts like hell."

" I've got a migraine, too. I guess, in the interests of our mutual sanity, I'll stop that."

" Besides, they didn't hear you."

" I know they did. They just want to keep us off kilter."

" Uhm, Sir…"

" Yes, Carter?"

" I think, I have to…" she was never able to finish her sentence. She threw up; she had only enough time to turn her back to Jack. She didn't want him to see her vomiting. Jack didn't care about Sam's vomiting, because soon after her stomach was settled again, he felt the same urgency. Sam saw something in his eyes, as he turned back to face her. He didn't even attempt to crack a joke about the whole situation, and that hinted to Sam that there was a huge problem. Jack saw Sam and shook his head. " What did they do to us?"

" Sir, while you were…Well, I had a flashback. I 've felt miserable like this, after I was blended with Jolinar."

" You don't think that they put snakes in us?"

" Sir…"

" I mean, wouldn't we expect to feel it?"

" I don't know, Sir."

" I mean, after Hathor placed that nasty snake in my head, I felt the presence of it."

" Sir, do you mind…" Sam gestured towards his head. Jack shook his head. Sam approached him slowly, not wanting to see an entry scar. When she bent down to look, she gasped.

" Major?" Jack asked him quietly. Sam knelt down in front of him and pulled her hair away, exposing the back of her neck.

" Sam…" It was enough; he would never call her Sam, unless there is a really big problem.

" Sir…" she began, but was interrupted, as the door was flung open.

" I have been waiting for this moment almost from the first day I saw you."

" What have you done to Daniel and Teal'c?" Jack asked, concerned only for his friends.

" I don't have them. Your little friends were able to escape and hide themselves from me in time. But they weren't able to rescue you."

" What do you wanna do?"

" It's already done. I've found the perfect replacement for Klorel. You will help lead the raid on Tauri."

" I don't feel the presence of a Goa'uld" Sam murmured.

" They are sleeping now. My priests informed me that the two of you had been blended before. They needed to rest and gather strength for the blending, and that time has come."

" Sir, it was an honor to serve with you" Sam told Jack, as the Jaffa Priest approached her.

" Fight it, Sam!" Jack cried at the top of his lungs. She shook her head sadly and looked at him apologetically.

" SAAAM!" he cried again, as two Jaffa restrained Sam and the priest poured a drink down her throat.

" Now you" Apophis grinned at him, Sam was laying on the ground, twisting in pain. "This is more enjoyable than I anticipated" he motions to the priest to continue with O'Neill.

" You SONOFABITCH!" Jack cried. "You'll regret ever being born, I promise you, you…" he wasn't able to end his threat, because the Jaffas grabbed him, holding him down while the priest administered the drink.

"I'll come back for you tomorrow" Apophis said and then left their cell. The priest gave some instruction to the guards, then he left, too. Jack now felt the presence of the Goa'uld. He wanted to speak to Sam, but the snake didn't let him.

"Thoeris?" he heard himself speaking in the echoic, deep voice, he had learned to hate so much.

"I am here, Aha" he heard Sam's voice, echoic and deep as his. "Jack" she whispered. Jack knew how much strength it took to speak, because he wanted to do the same so desperately, but wasn't able to. He wanted to say her name one last time, but Aha wouldn't let him. Jack rallied all his strength and anger and finally Aha gave in.

" Sam" all he was able to say, then Aha retook control.

" Sir, we have to go back."

" No, Dr. Jackson and that's my last word on this issue."

" Sir…" Dr. Fraiser chirped in." Sir…"

" Yes, Doctor?"

" Teal'c is awake now." Daniel hurried out of the office, on his tail General Hammond and Janet.

" What did he say?" Daniel asked her.

" He doesn't remember anything."

" Anything?"

" Well, he remembers being taken away from the Colonel and Sam, but he doesn't know anything about them.

Daniel looked around nervously; he didn't want to make the God angry with him again. Last time was enough.

" Teal'c?"

" This way" the Jaffa pointed towards the little forest. Daniel looked at him for a moment and recalled the past events. After he had arrived at the infirmary, Teal'c looked at him relieved. " I'm glad to see you alive, DanielJackson."

" Thank you, Teal'c" Daniel nodded. Teal'c looked at General Hammond and he gave in. Daniel didn't know, what transpired between them during those moments they had locked eyes, but it helped to convince General Hammond to let them go back to P2R-333. Janet obviously knew more than she was telling, and he decided to drag it out of her, as soon as Jack and Sam are back at Base safe and sound.

" Teal'c, you take point and we'll follow you. Dr Jackson, please, stay out of trouble" Major Bond, leader of the Search and Rescue team gave a warning glance to Daniel. Daniel nodded. Besides, Jack liked this Major and Daniel didn't want to cause trouble for one of Jack's friends. They were following Teal'c in silence. Daniel felt the gaze of Lt. Rory MacGregor on him every now and then.

" What is it?" he asked him whispering.

" I just wanted you to know, that we will do everything to free them."

" Thanks" Daniel nodded and decided, that SG-6 was his favourite team from now on. Teal'c turned back and waved Major Bond over to him. He then pointed down to the ground, he must have found something, so Daniel hurried to them.

" What is it?"

" They stood here for a while" Teal'c showed him the two pair of footprints. Daniel nodded, then looked up. He tugged on Major Bond's sleeve and as he turned to him, he pointed up.

" What is there?"

" A rope" Daniel said.

" They were captured" Major Bond stated. Teal'c and Daniel nodded in agreement.

" MacGregor, get in contact with SG-3." Daniel looked at Teal'c with an emotionless expression. None of the SG-1 members liked SG-3, they had the bad habit of shooting first and asking questions later.

" Lieutenant!" Daniel called after MacGregor.

" Dr Jackson?" Major Bond looked at Daniel quizzically.

" Sir, what if…Must it be SG-3? I mean, we brought SG-11 with us, please, order them to accompany us instead." Major Bond looked at Daniel and then nodded. Of course he was right. SG-3 could do more harm, than good.

" Okay, then SG-11, MacGregor."

" Thank you, Major" Daniel nodded.

" Don't make me regret this, and we are even now, Dr Jackson" he said with a grin and then turned to their recon expert. " Mary?"

" I have tried to locate their radio signal, but they must be out of order."

" Their radio?"

" Yes, there is a little transmitter built in into every handheld radio. How are we supposed to find our people, if we haven't got a clue, where they are?"

" Whose idea was that?"

" Sam's" came the reply from Cpt. Mary Aino.

" Run!" Major Bond shouted and then turned back to fire his weapon at the Jaffas, they were following them. " Mary!"

" Sir?" she yelled back, firing her own weapon.

" Tell them to dial out."

" Yes, sir" she nodded and pulled out her radio. " SG-3, come in!"

" Major Robbins here" came the reply.

" Dial out. We being pursued by a squad of Jaffa. They're pretty close behind us."

" Tell them to leave!" Major Bond yelled to her.

" Sir, leave, NOW!"

" But…"

" That's an order, Major!" Major Bond yelled so loud, that they could hear him at the other end of the radio. Daniel looked around and suddenly a sharp pain knocked him down to the ground. Teal'c was immediately by his side and helped him to straighten up.

" Are you alright?" MacGregor asked him.

" Sure" Daniel nodded, wincing in pain. Teal'c looked down at him, then at his leg and scooped him up into his arms.

" Teal'c…"

" We are faster this way. You shoot and I will run" Teal'c said and ran, as fast as he could. Daniel felt his leg shaking with every step, the pain was almost unbearable. He tried to stay conscious and succeeded, till they had reached the Stargate. Major Robbins was still there, waiting for them, holding the 'door' open for them. Teal'c helped Daniel through the gate, then turned back to face their enemy. Soon two figures appeared, seemingly out of nowhere and intervened in the battle. SG-11's Lt. Isaiah fell from a staff blast and his CO shared his fate soon thereafter. Captain Lewin, leader of SG-11, died, as he wanted to, protecting Cpt Mary Aino from a staff blast. He jumped to pull Mary to the ground and was hit in the same moment. Cpt Aino looked at him sorrowfully; placing a kiss on his lips and then took her gun and fired at every Jaffa. She once even succeeded in hitting one of those mysterious persons, who joined the battle.

" You will die for causing pain to Thoeris!" came a deep, echoing, yet familiar voice in response to her action. Teal'c jerked his head up and looked straight into the eyes of Colonel O'Neill, who was now dressed in an old egyptian warrior's cloak. He then looked at the body, lying unconscious on the ground next to him and recognized her as Major Carter.

" O'Neill" he shouted. The battle seemed to stand still for a moment. The members of SG-6 and Major Robbins looked at Teal'c, like he had gone crazy, but then examined the two forms and recognized, in shock, that they were their lost colleagues.

"Get out of here!" Jack yelled, and only he knew what kind of effort it took to manage to say that short phase. Major Bond looked him in the eyes, but they were glowing again. He ordered everyone to leave the planet effective immediately, and he hauled Teal'c after him.

CHAPTER TWO

Three months later

" Cassie, hurry up, you are already late. And me too!"

" Coming" the girl rushed down, into the kitchen and then placed a kiss on the top of her Mom's head. " Morning. Any sickness?"

" Major one" Janet nodded, her face pale. " Get out of here!"

" Are you alright, precious?"

" I'm fine, Daniel. Just let me alone" she demanded.

" Sure. Cassie, are you ready?"

" Sure" came the nod from the girl, who was still observing her Mom. " Shouldn't I stay here with you, Mom?"

" No!!!" Janet said. " You, go to school. And you" she looked at Daniel " go to school."

" Why is school sounding like HELL from your mother's mouth?" Daniel asked Cassie, as they were heading out of the house.

" I don't know" Cassie shrugged her shoulders, as she was climbing into the car. " I don't know, if you were speaking with her about this, but maybe she feels guilty."

" Guilty? For what?"

" For leaving Sam and Jack in the lurch" she knew, seeing Daniel's face darkening, she shouldn't mention this forbidden topic, but it had to be spoken of. " And that she went on with her life, while they couldn't."

" Cassie…" Daniel sighed. " You know, that your Mom doesn't believe me, when tell her, that I love her."

" Why not? Because of the child?"

" Yes. Because we were not ourselves on that night" Daniel blushed deeply.

" I know, Daniel" Cassie whispered. " But again, why would you sleep with Mom, if you were not in love with her?"

" We were comforting each other…"

" I still can't see, why she doesn't believe in you."

" She does believe in me. She doesn't believe in my true love for her. She only said yes to my proposal, when I told her, that I'm not giving up hope for them. That's why she believes in me."

" I thought, she were angry, because you left the SGC."

" I didn't leave the whole SGC, I only left SG-1, Cassie."

" But you are teaching now. And…"

" It helps to distract me from other thoughts."

" Like the thought that they could be dead?" Cass whispered.

" They_Are_Not_Dead" Daniel emphasized every word stressed.

" I know. Just sometimes…"

" Sometimes?"

" Sometimes I loose hope. I mean, it was three months ago. What do we know about them?"

" They are together with Apophis."

" How do you know?"

" SG-5 returned home yesterday, and the planet they were heading to, was destroyed by Apophis. Some people survived and told about Aha.

" I see" Cass nodded.

" Here we are" Daniel jumped out of the car and helped Cassie to take her backpack. " If you want a lift for home, tell me."

" Shouldn't we do something with Mom?"

" Like what?"

" I don't know" she shrugged her shoulders. " Something, to make her feel better."

" I will think about it" he bent down, and placed a kiss on her head. " Have a good day."

" What are you doing here?" she asked the servant harshly.

" I was preparing your accommodations, My Goddess" she bowed her head.

" Get out of here!" she yelled at her. The servant hurried out of the room, as she left, Aha arrived.

" My Princess" he took a thorough look at her.

" Aha" she seemed to be nervous, she fidgeted with her crown.

" What is wrong?" he asked gently.

" I…I'm pregnant."

" Oh, no!!!" he yelled. " How could this happen?"

" I don't know. How will Our Beloved God react when he learns of this?"

" We won't speak a word about it, Thoeris."

" Why?"

" This child is a sin. You know, that this is forbidden."

" But Apophis himself has such a child."

" You won't tell him, that would mean our deaths. I don't want to loose you" he came closer and pulled her in his embrace. Suddenly he jerked his head up.

" What's wrong?"

" Maybe I know how it could have happened. That night, I felt peace in my head for the first time. Until then, he was always arguing, not allowing me to touch you. But on that night he gave in and allowed me to love you."

" Why?"

" He misses her, this was the only way to get in contact with her."

" She has been happy since that night. She has stopped complaining and driving me crazy."

" Driving me crazy?"

" She uses strange terms sometimes."

" I know, he does the same. I have never had such a strong willed host."

" Me neither" Thoeris admitted. " I love you, Aha."

" I love you, My Princess" he whispered and placed a kiss on her lips. The door flung open and Apophis stepped in.

" Here are you! What are you doing here?"

" I haven't seen my mate since three weeks, I wanted to see, if she was all right."

" You have seen her, now go tend to your responsibilities. And you too!" he yelled at Thoeris.

" Yes, My God" they bowed their heads in unison.

SG-6 was running for their lives. Teal'c overtook them and arrived first at the Stargate. He dialed out and then waited for the others.

" Have you sent the code?" Cpt. Aino asked him.

" No, I haven't" he shook his head. Cpt. Aino looked down at the DHD and nodded; as realization sunk in.

" Cimmeria?" she asked whispering. Teal'c only nodded. Lt.MacGregor went through, then Sgt.Webster and then Cpt. Aino and Major Bond together with Teal'c. Teal'c looked back, to see if they were following them, and yes, they did.

" They weren't heading back home" Aha shouted to Thoeris.

" How do you know?" she shouted back.

" The Jaffa didn't send the code through. We have to follow them."

" What if it is a trap?"

" You stay here and I'm going to follow them. Are you okay?"

" Yes" she nodded. " Take care of yourself!"

" I will. Remember my words."

" I won't tell anybody" she shook her head and saw with tears in her eyes, as he left through the Gate.

You are familiar with the meaning of this place? * ~ What is going on?~ * I will get rid of you. * ~ She is left behind! You cannot leave her behind, she is pregnant with your child!~ * I can free her, pretending, I'm still you. * ~ Why?~ * Because I hate your kind. * ~ I love her.~ * I love her, too. *

" Jack?" Daniel asked unsurely.

" Ya sure, ya betcha" he grinned at him. " Thank you, Teal'c" he nodded towards the Jaffa. Teal'c only bowed his head, then looked at O'Neill.

" Are you trying to convince her to come to Cimmeria?"

" No" he shook his head. " I will try to steal a sarcophagus."

" Jack, this is not the time for cracking jokes."

" I know, Daniel. I was completely serious before."

" I know, that the maze is painful, but Sam has got a strong will, and she is a tough girl."

" Daniel, hold your breath. It's not about Sam. It's about the baby."

" What kind of baby?"

" Our baby. Their baby."

" They were…"

" In love with each other, yes."

" Jack…" Major Bond approached them. " I was speaking with General Hammond, after Dr Jackson has arrived. He says, that he wants you back at the Base, as soon as you are out of the maze."

" I have to go back for Sam. She is waiting for me on that planet."

" I was ordered…"

" I'm sorry, Major, it's only because I don't want you to face a court martial" he said, then fired his zat gun at the Major. Then he did the same with the rest of SG-6.

" Daniel?"

" I'm going with you. If the Jaffas see, that you had taken captives, they will believe you more."

" Teal'c?"

" I'm going with you, O'Neill."

" Nice to have you back, guys."

" Nice to have you back, Jack" Daniel nodded. " Tell me about the kid."

" Daniel…"

" How far is Sam?"

" Two months."

" Just like Janet" Daniel grinned.

" Janet is pregnant? Who is the father?"

" Me" Daniel said proudly, if he had created the 8th wonder of the world.

" Congratulations."

" Thanks."

CHAPTER THREE

One week later

Sam was able to breathe again. Suddenly she realized, that Thoeris had gone. She took a look around and saw the flag. The silver upside down V with the circle above it was the sign of Earth. And the flag was that royal blue one,

that she had admired so much, as she was visiting Tollana for the first time.

" You are awake now?"

" Yes" she nodded, at Narim's query. " Where is Jack? I mean, Colonel O'Neill. And where is Thoeris?"

" Thoeris was in a very bad shape. She was dying, as she was trying to save your life and the child's."

" You know about the child?" she asked whispering.

" Yes. Samantha…"

" Narim, I…"

" You have chosen right. You should always follow your heart. I know, that you were in love with him, only you weren't sure because of Jolinar. But there will be no problems because of that this time. Thoeris and Aha were in love with each other."

" Where is he?"

" He is waiting outside."

" Can I see him?"

" Samantha, you shouldn't get up!" Narim warned her, too late.

" What happened?? Oh no! The baby is gone!"

" Samantha…"

" Leave me alone" she said quietly.

" What is going on here?!" Jack stormed into the room. " Sam?"

" Don't come any closer! Get out of my room! NOW!!!"

" Sam?"

" Leave_Me_Alone!"

" Sam" Jack whispered, a whisper that brought memories to life.

" Jack" she whispered back. Narim knew, that his presence wasn't needed anymore and he left.

" Sam, I'm so sorry."

" I loved her already."

" How could you know she was a she?"

" Thoeris knew" Sam lowered her head. " What happened?"

" I was heading back to you, after I have paid a visit to the maze of Cimmeria. You were still waiting for me, but Apophis sent his assassin to kill you and the baby. He somehow figured out."

" Is she really dead?"

" The child?"

" Yes."

" Yes. I'm so sorry, Sam."

" She was part of you" she whispered. " I loved her, because she was from you." Jack took her into a soothing embrace.

" I love you, Sam" he whispered in her ears.

" I love you, Jack" she whispered back. " But this isn't right anymore" she pulled herself out of his embrace.

" Of course, it is. Sam, I will retire myself or quit the Air Force, I just want to be together with you. With Aha loving Thoeris, I felt the love I have for you, tenfold, it hurt me almost."

" I know, I felt the same thing."

" Come on, sweetheart, home is waiting for us. Just one thing. Janet is pregnant."

" And?"

"And she feels guilty, please, try to reassure her, that you are not mad at her, because she went on with her life. For Danny's sake."

" What? He's the father?"

" As I understood it, he said they were comforting each other about our loss, and then it happened. Janet is pregnant now, and they are married, although Janet doesn't really believe that Danny loves her."

"I have to talk to her. The woman must be blind!" she smiled a bit.

" Sam?"

" Yes?"

" Your smile kept me from suicide."

" For me, it was your ever so gentle touch" she whispered back.
