"Ah! yes, now I like this. Party on another planet" Jack said looking at some villagers dancing and having fun. A young man and woman camed towards them and smiled. "we are peaceful travellers, we mean you no harm" Daniel said to them, they nod "then you are welcome on our planet, this is Macy, my wife" the man said, showing the young browned haired woman beside him "and I am called Ivan, welcome on Borron" Daniel bow his head "hello Macy and Ivan. This is Teal'c, Jack O'neill, Sam Carter and I am Daniel Jackson"

"please, come with us and enjoy the ceremony" Macy said and showed them the way to the party. "on what occasion are you having a ceremony?" Daniel ask, curiously. Ivan smiled "it is for our God, Borron. The village is named after him" Daniel nod but didn't know who was Borron. Teal'c and Sam stayed a couple of steps away from the two villagers. "I don't know if it's just me or I feel a little bit unconfortable here" Sam said and look at Teal'c. "I do too, Major Carter. The villagers do not appear totally honest" Jack turned and look at them talking to each other "Oh! For Crying Out Loud! it's a party, not a goa'uld invasion" they nod at him and continued walking with the rest. Several hours later, Jack found Teal'c and Daniel drinking something. It looked like apple juice, even Teal'c looked like he was enjoying it. He walk towards them "hey Daniel! you know where's Carter?" Daniel turned to look at him and smiled widely "nope but try this, it's sooooo good" Jack starre at him "Daniel... are you drunk?" Daniel finished his glass and gave one to Jack "drink" he smelled it and took a sip of it "you're right, it taste good but we don't know what it is so lay off of it" Daniel starre at him and nod slowly but didn't say nothing. Jack nod and walk towards Teal'c "hey Teal'c! have you seen Carter around?" he shook his head "I do not know... O'neill" Jack nod and turned away "what a team" he said to himself and drank the glass of the liquer Daniel had gave him earlier, without knowing it. He look at the empty glass and then the villagers 'everybody seems to be drinking it, so it couldn't be dangerous. I'll take another glass' he walk back where Daniel was and took another glass. SG-1 drink this liquer and fell unconscious. "where are we?" Daniel said, sitting straight from the bed where he was lying before. "what the hell happened?" Jack woke up after and touch his forehead "it feels like I've been hit by a truck"

"you are at the SGC colonel O'neill,Dr Jackson" they both look up and saw Janet looking at them "how are you feeling?" she ask. They struggle and look at each other, that's when they noticed that Teal'c and Sam weren't there with them. "where's Teal'c and Carter?" Janet look at them then lowered her head "Janet, what happened to them? are they ok?" Daniel ask worriedly. "their in another room... they are in a more critical condition then you two" the men shared a look and almost jumped out of the bed and walk straight towards the other room. When they walked in, they were stunned to see several monitors around their friends, they had also several bruises on them. "what the hell happened?" Jack said said furiously and look at Janet for an explanation. She nod "a week ago, you went on P3X 36E and never camed back..." Daniel cut her off "wait a minute here! we were gone for a week?!" Janet nod and continued "so we sent SG-2 to bring you back. When they camed back with the four of you unconscious, they said that they found Teal'c and Carter in a separate chamber... all I can say is that the villagers did something to them, something Sam and Teal'c didn't to do" When Janet was finished telling the story, she turned to look at them "you two also need rest" she turned around and mentionned to a nurse to lead them in their own room. A day later, Teal'c and Sam woke up very confuse. "what happened?" Sam ask Janet as soon as she saw her walking in her room. "Well, you and Teal'c had been unconscious for a week and a day, how are you feeling?"

"where to start! I have a major headhache, my stomach hurt and I feel I'm gonna throw up" Janet nod and took her temperature "you have a small fever but nothing to be worried about, sleep for a couple of hours then you could leave the infirmery" she nod but spoke quickly to Janet before she could walk out of the door "are the others ok?" Janet turned around and nod at her and walk out the door. Janet walk towards the general's office and walk in "I have news on SG-1" the general nod and mentionned her a seat. "well, Teal'c and Carter woke up this morning and they seem to be fine. They both have a small temperature but I presume it's nothing serious"

"what about the bruises?" he ask. "Teal'c's symbiote is taking care of that, he's almost ready to go back on mission. Major Carter on the other hand, will take several days again for a completly recovery, nothing off world yet" the general nod at her "thank you, Dr Fraiser, keep me informed" she smiled but it didn't reach her eyes "sir, I ask questions to Teal'c and he told me what he remembered" Hammond nod for her to continue "well, he said that he, Daniel and the colonel were drinking something, and that suddenly he heard Carter yelling for help... he went to see her but men started beating him"

"what do you think happened?" Janet shook her head "I don't know, but major Carter doesn't remember nothing" Hammond nod "thank you Dr Fraiser, inform me if nothing new comes in"

"yes sir" nod at him and walk out of his office. A week later, SG-1 was back on duty. Everything appeared to be back on track and they had a mission on P3X Y7Y. "No signs of civilization, sir" Sam said and look around "the temperature is normal" the rest of the team nod and started to explore. "look trees, never seen those before" Jack said sarcastically. "actually, this is too weird" Sam said and look around, Jack look at her "ya think?"

"I mean this instrument is used to detect naquadda, and this whole planet as naquadda" Daniel look at her strangely "but naquadda is rare, how can a whole planet have that"

"a deserted planet" Jack announce. Daniel nod "maybe it's a trap" he said to him. Jack nod and turned around "ok, were going back at the gate" they nod and started walking towards the gate. Daniel and Jack were walking in front of Sam and Teal'c. Jack was making stupid jokes and Daniel wasn't paying much attention. Suddenly they heard gun shots behind them, they turned around and noticed that Sam and Teal'c were missing "Sam? Teal'c? where are you?"Daniel shout "comon" Jack ordered and ran towards where the gun fire camed from. When they arrived they saw their friends captured by Apophis and several guards around them. "Tau'ri, it is good to see you again"

"well, not for us, let them go" Jack said and walk a few steps foward "keep your distance or they will die" Apophis said and the guards raised their weapons at the two captives. "what do you want?" Daniel ask him and walk beside Jack. Apophis laughed "I want the death of you but death is too good for you. Torture would be how my game is going to be called" Two guards from behind grip them by the arms "now you cannot escape me once again" Apophis said and the next thing they knew, SG-1 and Apophis was on his ship. "put them in the cell, I'll see what I will do to you later" four of Apophis's guards took them in a cell and left them there. "now what?" Daniel ask the others, worriedly. "we're gonna look for a way out, that's what were going to do" Jack said while standing up and search for a way to escape the cell. After several minutes of searching, SG-1 sat back down, exausted. "no way out, we're stock here" Daniel said and closed his eyes. The door of the cell opened and two guards walk inside "come with us" the four of them stood up and let them lead them to Apophis. They entered in a large room and saw Apophis sitting on a chair, surrounded by guards. "Tau'ri"

"Apophis" Jack answered with the same tone of voice. Apophis shot him a dirty look and stood up. "I have finally captured you, you fools cannot escape from your God Apophis"

"first, your not a God and second, we can always fool you after we escape" Apophis nod at a jaffa and he knock Jack on the head with his staff weapon. "I have finally decided what will I do to punish you"

"what? torture us t'ill we die then put us in the sarcophagus?" Jack spat at him, still hurting from the previous knock. Apophis smiled dangerously and shook his head "no, I will choose only one person, then I will torture that person and watch you suffer" sg-1 shared a worried look with each other and look back at Apophis. "yes, every day, I will torture the chosen one until I have what I want"

"what's that?"

"the Tau'ri's iris code, and the Tok'ra homeworld address" The guards made sg-1 stand up in front of Apophis "the chosen one will be...you" he pointed at Sam. She froze but didn't say nothing. "no chance in hell!!"

"but this is hell" Apophis answered and laughed "take them away" four guards brought back the rest of sg-1 in the cell and left Sam with him. "we can do this the easy way, or the hard way"

"can I ask what is the easy way?" Apophis smiled and walk around her "it is you tell me what I want to know then I will give you a quick death" Sam didn't find herself relieved, but only to keep her guards up. "and the hard away" Apophis continued "is that I will torture you until you tell me what I wish to know and have a slow and painful death"

"I won't tell you nothing Apophis, and we both know that!" she was starting to get really angry with him. Apophis nod "you have chosen the hard way, good choice" he raised his ribbon device towards her and fired. "I can't believe it. We're actually trap here while our friend will get tortured" Daniel said sadly with a brief moment of panick. "we really need to get her out of there" Jack said, looking for a way out. "someone is approaching O'neill" Jack stepped away from the door and walk towards the others. The door opened and two guards stepped in and pushed Sam in. "ouch!!" she cursed when the door shut. Her team-mates rush towards her "are you ok? what did he do to you?"

"Daniel please shut up!!" she said coldly and pushed them away "I'm sorry" she said and touch her head, They led her towards a corner and sat next to her. "let me look at your head, Carter" she look at her CO "I'm ok, he just shot me with ribbon device" he raised his eyebrows "just!?! that's enough, and you got a major bump there too" he metionned her her head. "sir, if we don't get out of here soon, I'll have much more then a 'bump on the head'" he nod slowly, not wanting any of this to happen. "we better sleep, maybe tomorrow we'll find a way out" Jack said and they sat against the wall and close their eyes, all except fot Sam. "you should sleep, Carter" she look at Jack next to her "I'm sorry, but I don't want tomorrow to come too quickly" she lowered her gaze on the ground. He nod and sat closer to her. "we'll probably find a way out very soon" she didn't seem satisfied by his answer. "ya, probably" she said sofly, he wrap his arm around her shoulders and pulled her closer to him "it's going to be ok" he whispered in her ears, she nod slowly and fell asleep. Now, he was the one who couldn't sleep. He started stroking her back sofly, he hoped they could get out of there soon before she was too injured. He sense her nestle her head on his chest for a more confortable position. He look down at her and smiled, he like what he saw. The hours past on and he finally drew in a deep sleep, with the woman he cared the most in his arms. The next day, SG-1 woke up by the door of the cell open. Two guards appeared from the doorway and called out for Sam. "come with us!" Sam look down and stood up "don't want to cause any trouble for you guys" Daniel look away, knowing Apophis was going to torture her everyday from now on, it was unthinkable. "be strong Sam, we're gonna get out of here soon" he said, trying to sound couragous, despite the tears that threatnen him. Sam look at them a forced a smile "ya, I bet we will" she turned and walk towards the guards and they closed the door behind her. Daniel look at Jack "we will, right?" Jack didn't answer, his mind was on what Sam had said 'ya I bet we will?! what is that? lack of confidence?, she's giving up hope, already?' Daniel's voice brought him out of his thought. He turned to look at the young archeologist. "I'm sorry, what did you say?"

"we're gonna get out of here, right? we can't let her get beaten like this everyday" Jack nod slowly, not knowing what to say. Daniel starre at him and sight. Apophis was smiling at Sam when he saw her walking in. He was enjoying this, and wasn't ready to let them go. "it is good to see you this morning, like everyday we will see each other, until you will be too weak to remember your own name" his voice started to be harsh and cold, he look at a jaffa and nod at him. The jaffa walk behind Sam and raised a weapon. I looked like a staff weapon but it was smaller. "this is a Zec'tak, it is more powerfull than a zat'nic'tel but less powerfull than a staff weapon. It will give an energy shock whenever you do not say the truth or you do not respond to my question. It can do severe damage, the energy burns within you and it is so intense that you cannot breathe normally. Let's start" he said, a huge smile on his face. Sam look at the Zec'tak, it was the same weapon that was use on Jolinar when she put the memorie device on her while going on Netu. She knew it hurt ALOT. Apophis walk in front of her "I am ready" he said, smiling widely. "tell me the iris code" he said, slowly. Sam closed her eyes, and shook her head "like I'm gonna tell you!" Apophis nod, and watch the jaffa fire the weapon. Memories was flashing in her mind, knowing the true pain Jolinar had lived in, now it was her turn. The pain was strong, it was burning through her veins, not able to breathe or to scream. Then it slowly went away, this was just the beginning and she knew it. She was feeling dizzy and ready to throw up any time but Apophis interrupted her thoughts. "I will repeat again. What is the iris code!" Bringing her strenght together, she yelled at him "Go to Hell Apophis!" and another shot burned her veins. How much more could she take this, the fighting for her life. She started to realise that she didn't want to fight anymore. She took a deep breath, despite the pain of her body and whisper to herself "I'm not gonna let my friends down even if that means the death of me" Apophis heard and made the jaffa fire another time. The last thing she heard was Apophis yelling "take her back to her cell!!" then she slept into unconsciousness. "Sam, wake up" she opened her eyes slowly and foccussed on the head that was in front of her. She blinked several time then starre "Hi Daniel" she said weakly. He smiled in relief "Hi, what did they done to you?" he ask concerned. Sam tried to sit up straight but the pain shot throught her made her stop quickly. "watch it!" she heard another voice beside said, she nod but sat up anyway. "so what'd the bastard do to you?" Jack ask her, sitting next to Daniel in front of her. "his daily job, what do you think?!" she said a bit harshly then immediatly regret it "I'm sorry" Daniel sat next to her "you loom like you've been burned"

"he used a Zec'tak something. The same thing Jolinar was tortured with" they look at Teal'c. "it is a powerfull weapon. It is burning their victimes slowly by slowly, from inside out"

"Oh ya! it was burning alright!" Sam cursed under her breath "well, see you tomorrow Apophis" Daniel and Jack sharred a worried look then look back at her. Before they could say anything, Sam started to talk. "if you found a way out of here, just go and escape. I won't hold on very much more"

"Carter" her CO warned but it didn't made any effects on her. "colonel, have you ever heard of giving up hope? well this is it. SG-1 had finally been defeated, nothing you can do about it, unless you help the rest of SG-1 and get the hell out of here"

"Sam" Daniel protested with a trembling voice, but Sam shook her head "don't Daniel. You know how dangerous it is staying in Apophis's hands, you can die anytime, and don't be surprise if I'm not coming back one day" tears rolling freely down his cheeks, he nod and closed his eyes. After a moment of silence, Jack started to speak "we have a plan"

"good, hope it work"

"when the guards are coming, we can slide a stick in the doors opening so it can't closed. The only thing we need is a divergence so we can make a run for it" Sam nod "I can do that. Tomorrow when Apophis gonna come" he shook his head angrily "your coming with us!"

"no I'm not! theres plenty of reason why I shouldn't. First I can't run because I'm too weak, and I'm the only one who can take the guards attention" he starre at her, she was right but that didn't make it acceptable. She forced a smile and look at him "just get Daniel and Teal'c out of here safely. I'll be ok" before he went to say anything, she interrupted him "now let me go to sleep, I have a big day tomorrow" he nod sadly and watch her falling in a relieved sleep. Daniel look at Jack "we can't..."

"Daniel, you go to bed, we also have a big day tomorrow"

"no Jack!!"

"Daniel sleep!" he ordered and Daniel fell asleep next to Sam. Jack sat on her other side, and closed his eyes. 'the strongest team, the hardest team, the best team is now defeated. We we're so good during those past years, four years now. That was alot, but it wasn't enough for one of them to die for the others. But he couldn't risk Daniel and Teal'c's life. There's so much things unresolved between us, we could've start something that we both wanted' shaking his head for unwanted thoughts, he let himself slip in a dark and unconfortable sleep. The next morning, Sam woke up first, followed quickly by the others. "the guards are coming soon, get your stuff ready" she said and stand up. Daniel walk towards her and gave her a big hug "we'll find you Sam, I promised we will" Sam nod "don't work too much on that" he shook his head "I can work all my life if I have to" Sam smiled "go and get ready" he nod and broke the hug. Teal'c walk at her "it was nice to serve with you major Carter. We will find you" she nod and by her surprise, he hug her sofly, which she returned. He walk away and she look at her CO "sir" he shook hi head and hug her "Jack, that's my name, use it" she smiled "ok Jack, well this is good bye" he shook his head, fighting the tears "never goodbye, we'll come to get you and we'll kick Apophis's ass once and for all" Sam smiled to herself "you know I'm gonna missed your sarcastic moments" his turned to smile "you'll hear that soon enough, when we'll get you" they broke the hug and look in each other's eyes "I missed you already" he admitted, and it made Sam giggle despite her previoius pain "who would have thought that you would be such a softy when it comes to say goodbyes" he smiled "just for you" she smiled and his next gesture caught her completly off guard. He lean towards her, and kiss her gently on the lips. Their first real kiss that they we're sharing. They broke apart, tears filled their eyes "I love you, and don't ever think otherwhise" she frozed, hearing those words coming out from him, made her more confident. She smiled and whisper to him "I love you too" he kissed her again, then broke apart when the door of the cell opened. Sam walk a bit in front of the others and turned to look at them and said "goodbye" and got taken away. Before the door was shutting down, Teal'c slid a woodstick in the opening, stopping it from closing entirely. "O'neill, we must go" Jack nod, and he and Daniel walk at the entrance. They opened the door and look around. Watching Sam walk away, she turned and nod at them. She suddenly pushed a jaffa down the stairs and shot another with his staff weapon. "here's our chance" the three of them slid out of the cell and ran down the hall. One of the jaffa had caught Sam and brought her violently towards Apophis. "O'neill, I see light" Teal'c said "let's go!" they made a run for it and finally found themselves out of Apophis's ship. "make a run for it to the stargate, try not to stop" they nod and ran towards the gate. Looking around, there was no guards around, Jack turned to look at Daniel "dial us home, quick!" Daniel nod and walk towards the DHD and dial earth, sending the signal afterwards, he turned at them and nod. They ran towards the gate, but before they turned around and said "good luck Sam" and stepped in the gate's event horizon.
