Without a Name
From someone's point of view this may seem alittle out of mind. Major Samantha Carter kept trying to remind herself that it was not crazy, this was actually happening to her, to them. It was all about politics, the control one had over other people and the secrets and lies hidden inside the envelope she carried.
Just as she guessed, Colonel Jack O'Neill was waiting in her lab playing with her dohickies. Standing on the threshold, Carter hesitated. Her face was flushed and her chest had tightened which made breathing almost impossible.
Colonel O'Neill looked up in time to stare into the fire of burning blue eyes. "What's up, Carter?"
Major Carter walked in with a furious need of retribution. "This is what's up." She throws the envelope down with such ferocity that several photos skirted from their hidden location and spilled across the bench. The photographs seemed almost identical; four bodies, four sprits, entangled within each other. In the background a beautiful red sky, caused by a setting sun, was dulled by the black and white ink. That night they had gone beyond the point of no return and now there was no going back, no undoing what had been done.
"What…I…I don't understand?" O'Neill combed through the pictures. "What is this?"
"Photos, Colonel, of us." In no mood for pretense Carter unleashed her fury. "I woke this morning and found these," she pointed a accusing finger at the incriminating evidence, "pushed under my door. I was alittle confused at first, until I saw they left a message in a bottle on my front step." A small card was placed in Jack's hand.
He read it aloud, "It's time for show and tell. You have two days." Calmly looking at Sam, O'Neill spoke. "Blackmail?"
"If it is, nobody's owing up to it, yet." Carter signed and slumped into a chair, her anger subsiding. "Thank God the General is on holiday for 100 days."
"He'll be back in 48 hours." Jack started putting the photos back, they had taken one false step and now they were paying for it.
"We have to tell Jonas and Teal'c, sir."
"Tell us what?" On queue, Jonas and Teal'c walked into Carter's lab. Quietly O'Neill hands them the photos and the message. "I don't understand."
"Nor do I Jonas Quinn."
"We think someone is trying to blackmail us," Samantha explained staring at her colonel for guidance, but it was Teal'c who spoke.
"And what of the General?"
"He doesn't know yet." Right now Hammond would be their worst nemesis, Jack thought. What enemies did they have, that would have taken those photos and what did they wish to gain by bribing two air force officers and two aliens? Going off on a tangent was not going to help right now.
O'Neill looked at his team, they were all looking at him to lead them, to get them through this in one piece, but damned if he knew what to do. So in turn he stared at Carter, "Any ideas?"
She thought for a moment before speaking. "We need a fail safe plan," she paused before continuing. "A plan the General will believe, if he sees the pictures."
"We could tell him that it was just a matter of time before it happened," Quinn moved his hands as he spoke. "That we didn't plan it, it was just something that happened."
"Hammond will never believe that, right now we're sitting between two fires." Looking at Carter, O'Neill ventured his own idea. "What if we tell him that the photos are fake? You throw in some mumbo jumbo about how easy it is to forge phony photographs with some dohickies and we're home free." Three dirty looks were all he gained for his trouble.
"Colonel, lets look at this from the other side, what if we just tell him the truth?"
"The truth?" Jack returned her earlier dirty look, "you want to tell Hammond the truth! If he fin…"
"Major Carter," Teal'c interrupted O'Neill's rant before it could go any further. "It is my understanding that General Hammond would be most disappointed at this revelation."
"Teal'c has a point, Major." When all gave him their attention, Jonas continued. "Then again if we start telling lies we could have a scandal to rival that of the Watergate scandal."
Lost in contemplation, nobody spoke.

O'Neill fidgeted, Carter chewed her nails, Quinn read something dull and Teal'c sat stone still. General Hammond had called them into the briefing room, he had been too quiet, too silent since his return.
Jack felt as if he was on proving ground, the testing of missiles exploding all around and the hiss of bullets whizzing by. Hammond walked in and O'Neill continued his frantic thinking, but there was nothing to worry about. SG-1 was a family if one went down, they would all go down.
"It was all Colonel O'Neill's idea!" Jonas sprung from his sit and pointed an accusing finger, "he said it would be fun…" Teal'c pulled Quinn back into his sit before any more could be said.
General Hammond continued as if unaware of the outburst. "When I hired a guy to watch you all," he cast the team a dark look. "I never thought that this is what I would find." An envelope appeared as if by magic and landed with a slap on the table.
"Wait a minute," Jack paused, "it was you that hire the guy to have photos taken of us?"
"I wanted to keep an eye on you while I was away, and I'm glad I did." Hammond drew his attention away from O'Neill. "I can't believe any of you would do this," he pulled out a photo and threw it on the table. The picture showed the four of them bent over a plastic mat with colourful dots painted on it. "You played *twister* without me!"
