God…the relief was completely encompassing when we found her. When I could see her. Even reach out and touch her.
//Yeah. Very dramatic, thank you.//
Those almost sarcastically spoken words were, what felt like, the most beautiful words I had ever heard spoken.
//You bet.//
Just like that.
Simple.
She doesn’t have to thank me. She knows that. It’s my job to protect her. To protect my team.
But…she does anyway.
Because that’s who she
is.
