"Jack, wait up!" Daniel yelled as he ran to catch up with Jack who was wearing his faded jeans and black leather jacket. Jack stopped and waited for Daniel to reach him. "I need to talk to you," Daniel said, puffing. "I'm just heading home," Jack replied, "Wanna come over, watch the football and have a few drinks?" "No, you shouldn't go home. Not yet, anyway. I've got something important to tell you. Something you really want to know." Daniel said to Jack, trying to hide a grin. "And that would be…?" Jack wasn't sure whether he wanted to hear Daniel's news. "I'll tell you after I get a bite to eat. I'm starving." Daniel said and headed to the mess hall. He grinned at the news he had, because he knew that it would benefit two of his closest friends. Jack had no choice but to follow.

Daniel sat down with a tray full of food. Before he started eating he looked up at Jack. "I was talking to one of the airmen earlier and he was telling me about his sister who's a pilot for one of the Chief of Staff. Now, here's the really interesting part." Daniel takes a bit of his sandwich. "She has just been given permission to see her commanding officer." Daniel paused. "And that means what to me?" Jack didn't see the point, the amazing point to Daniel's mini speech. "She is second in command, he's her CO." Daniel didn't need to say more. Jack's jaw dropped, "You mean…?" "Yes, Jack. The regulations have changed." Jack stood up. Daniel's words just sinking in. He had to find Sam. He looked like he just won 50 `billion' dollars. "She's in her quarters." Daniel told him. Daniel had already inquired where Sam would be. Jack turned and walked straight for the door. "Thanks!" Jack shouted back. He bolted down the corridor.

KNOCK KNOCK Sam opened her eyes and looked at the door. She didn't want to get up. Sam turned over, her back to the door. KNOCK KNOCK Sam got up and went to the door. She turned the knob slowly and when she look at the person who knocked and disturbed her, she saw her CO, the man she loved. "Sir, what are you doing here?" Sam asked, curious as to why her CO was standing in front of her with the biggest grin she had ever seen. Jack stepped inside, ignoring Sam's shocked looks. He locked the door. Sam heard the familiar click. "Sir?" Sam asked as Jack turned to face her. "No regulations! There's no more regulations!" Jack took a step forward and wrapped his arms around the woman he loved. Sam was too shocked to respond. "But…but…" "They've changed that damned regulation. It's no longer between us. We can be together now!" Jack leant down and kissed Sam long and tenderly. She returned the kiss, wrapping her arms around him.

KNOCK KNOCK Sam glanced at the door but didn't move. She never wanted to move. KNOCK KNOCK The handle twisted. "Sam, I know you're there. Open the door. We need to talk." Dr. Janet Fraiser excitedly said from the other side. Sam got up reluctantly, "Hang on, Janet. I'll be there in a sec." Sam put on the bits of clothing she could find and went to the door. She found Jack's jeans and her jacket. She unlocked it and stuck her head out. "I have good news," Janet said. "The regulations stopping you and Jack have changed. You can see him as long as it doesn't affect your work. It was made official yesterday." Sam couldn't do anything but smile. "Sam?" Someone said from inside Sam's quarters. Janet knew that the voice belonged to Jack. "I see you already know." Janet said giggling. "You could say that." Sam said with a grin like the one she'd seen on Jack's face the night before. "I'll see you later. Bye Colonel," Janet shouted. "Bye Doc," Jack returned. "Have fun, "Janet said to Sam as she turned and walked off. "Oh, I will!" Sam replied. Janet heard the door shut, followed by the click of the door being locked. She heard Sam giggle as she turned the corner and smiled to herself. Daniel probably told Jack, she thought. "Janet!" Janet shot around and saw Daniel running to catch up with her. "Daniel, how are you?" Janet asked. "Good. You?" "Good." "You heard about the reg…" Daniel was cut off by Janet. "Regulations? Yes, I've heard. I just went to tell Sam, but she already knew. You wouldn't know how she found out, would you?" Janet asked, knowing his answer in advance. Daniel smiled. "I told Jack, and I guess he told Sam." "Showed her more likely." Janet chuckled. "Where are you headed?" Daniel asked. "My quarters." "Wanna get a coffee?" "Sure," Janet replied They turned the corner and continued to head towards Janet's quarters.

Authors Notes: This idea came to me when I read other fanfics that mentioned those damned regulations. I thought of what would happen if they were no longer a problem.
