It was over, and the mountain was silent but for the soft breathing of her last inhabitants. They gazed down into the gate room, and then turned to look at each other. They were now simply Jack and Sam, the way it was always meant to be. They walked silently down the steps, through the abandoned corridors, unsure of what the future held. Pausing by a switch, they stood, remembering all who?d entered the facility and never left. Perhaps one day they'd return, but for now..... Jack pulled the lever, and the hall was engulfed in darkness. "Let's go fishing."
