"Ten!" Jack's eyes captured Sam's in a longing embrace.

"Nine!" Her smile reached her eyes, brightening up her face.

"Eight!" He licks his lips, as she does the same.

"Seven!" She moves in closer, for he is fair game.

"Six!" He pulls her to him with shaking hands.

"Five!" She settles in, how she loves this man.

"Four!" He sighs out loud, releasing all of his fears.

"Three!" She trembles now, as the time is growing near.

"Two!" He leans in and she meets him half way.

"One!" Their lips finally touch, they have waited all day!

"Happy New Year!"
