A New World

"I am not taking you and that is it Mayor!" Colonel Jack O'Neill screamed toward his CO.

"Sir with all due respect I am the only one capable of helping with the device."

"Why is that Carter?"

"Because, sir, I am the only..."

"I am not taking you and its final"

Samantha Carter's eyes glazed over but she didn't say anything. Instead she saluted and left. "Colonel O'Neill it seems you have messed up" Jack turned to look at Teal'c who was sitting besides Daniel who only stared at his pencil.

"Oh really?" Jack asked sarcastically.

Teal'c opened his mouth to answer what he meant, but Daniel stopped him. Jack dismissed them and then he went in search of Sam. There weren't many places she could hide in, but he even knew where she was.

he directed himself to her lab. "Always in her lab" he thought to himself. Find her he did , in her lab. She had her heard on her hands and Jack could see how sobs wrecked her body.

"Sam?" Jack started. When she heard him calling her, she jumped and quickly wiped the tears out.

"Sir, I didn't hear you." He could see coldness in her eyes, and he knew he had hurt her.

"Sam, please don't be mad." he pleaded "I'm only protecting you."

"I don't need to be protected Jack, I don't need it."

"You have to understand, I am doing it for you ,t his place hasn't been explored, I don't' want anything to happen to you."

"Nothing will happen to me as long as you are there." she approached him and threw herself in his arms.

He hugged her with all he had, afraid to let go "I'll do a deal with you, you come, you do the techno babble, but you stay by Teal'c, what do you say?"

"If I agree, I'll be able to do all research I wish to do?"

"Yes babe, I only want to protect you and the special cargo you have." Sam smiled against his shoulder.

"Deal" she agreed "I also want to protect our baby, but sometimes I just feel that I am not useful."

"You are everything but that."

"You do love me, right?" she looked at him in the eye "right?"

"Yes, that's why I don't want anything to happen to you, you are almost nine months pregnant, we have to be careful."

"We will." A knock on the door made us turn toward it, to see Daniel standing there.

"Colonel... Jack, Sam we are ready to go."
