A Box With Buttons

The Stargate was ready for them to leave. Daniel, Carter, Teal'c and O'Neill were lined up in front of it. Since Jack and Sam had gotten married, they always crossed the Stargate together, hand in hand, and today was no exception.

They went through and again Sam got dizzy. It had been happening every time they went through the iris. This time however was much worse, she couldn't contain the food they had eaten in the morning, and vomited next to a nearby plant.

When Teal'c and Daniel went through they found a very pregnant Sam resting against Jacks' back, he was rubbing her belly slowly, in a circle motion. "Again?" Daniel asked concerned.

"This time it was much worse." Sam told him. They waited until Sam finished recovering and then they carefully made their way where they knew that the artifact was hidden. When they got there, they saw what looked like a small temple and in the middle was a box of metal that to Jack was a box with different little buttons.

"Suit yourself Sam." Jack joked. Sam went toward it and with delicate hands traced it, amazed like a little girl with a new toy.

He turned to see Daniel, who was inspecting the writing on the wall. Teal'c was only standing guard by the entrance on the temple. Knowing if he talked to Daniel or Sam at that moment they would only give him a techno babble he decided to go with Teal'c.

"T buddy, what is this place?"

Teal'c turned to look at him and then just gazed into space. "I don't know Colonel O'Neill, but I get a bad feeling of this place."

Jack turned to look at Sam, who was now looking more intently at the artifact. "Do you think we should leave?" he asked while turning to look at Teal'c.

"I would advice…"

Teal'c never got to finish for a small scream of help was heard and both, he and Jack, knew who it was from. Sam was being detained by a strange looking man. He appeared to be like a tree, but he was surely human, or at least they thought he was. He had Sam by an arm which was twisted behind her back, and a knife directed to her belly.

"Don't moves or they die!" he advised them.

Jack panicked, that thing was about to kill his wife and future baby and he had to stand back and watch or the killing would be sooner.

"What are you here for?"

Jack couldn't speak, so Teal'c did "We are here to check an artifact we will leave then, we don't mean harm."

"You expect me to believe you?"

"It's the truth"

Teal'c waited to see what the thing would do to them. Daniel was still by the walls now aware of what was happening around him. Jack only stood staring at Sam, giving her an unspoken power to keep hanging on. The last thing they saw was a blinding yellow light.
