Heart pumping erratically, Jack watched intently as Carter was escorted through the enormous crowd.

The burly guardian pushed Carter forward, making her stumble slightly. Instinctively moving to take her arm, Jack was both shaken and reassured to see the faith and confidence in Carter's eyes.

Warrior's senses on high alert, it was unnecessary to physically look to know that all eyes were focused on him, and his team.

Teal'c and Daniel to his right, Carter at his left.

He willed himself to focus on the words of the high priest.

Until death us do part, he found himself eagerly repeating.
