Author's Notes: I was quite taken with Dr. Weir in "The Lost City." As played by Jessica Steen, the character's interaction with Jack had interesting potential. I decided to explore that potential in this story. I began this story before season 8 aired, so Weir is blonde, not the dark-haired version of Atlantis. Because I continued writing through the first batch of season 8 episodes, some elements from the actual season 8 are included, such as ranks, the search for the lost city, and a small reference to "Zero Hour." But they're quite small, really, and hardly spoilerish if you haven't seen season 8.
