Author's notes: First off this is just something I needed to get out. Hard to write, probably hard to read. But writing has always been my catharsis so... Second, I don't know how it works within the military but for our police department a funeral is marked by two things, the class A dress uniform, with gloves, and black bands across the badges. Third, this is entirely the work of fiction. No resemblance to anyone (beyond the SG characters) is intended or should be inferred.
