I seem to still be obsessed with the mysterious limbo between seasons 8 and 9, especially the innuendo in the later seasons that Sam and Jack have somehow come to an understanding, so, surprise surprise, this story is set somewhere between seasons 8 and 9, or early season 9. I’ve taken some liberty as to the timing of the team fishing trip at the end of season 8, so for the purpose of this story it took place towards the end of the summer. I hope you enjoy this little Christmas story! I make no apology for the fluffiness therein!
